Hotel a Windhoek, Namibia

PROS We stayed for 1 night in one of the”luxury” tented options. Please take note that we now have stayed in a variety of room options at Arrebusch Lodge This lodge is our preferred place to stay in Windhoek after a long journey. However, with regards to the” luxury tented accommodation- it has an almost 16 sq m bathroom (brick) with a large shower and ample space. Clean and comfortable beds and bedding in the tent area ( same size as the bathroom) An aircon that worked properly. Outside a veranda with a braai with ample light options. CONS We missed the coffee station and a small table in the tent. If you are looking for value for money consider Block C/B and the square which also includes a great breakfast at the price. About the tented accommodation, we unfortunately had a ”horrible” experience. Our tent was on the far end of the premises close to the main road and fence. We arrived there while the October Fest was in full swing and it felt as if the speakers and boom boxes were just across the road. To their credit(management) we found a letter from management in the tent apologizing (warning us ?) about the sound pollution. The traffic on the road ( and police vehicle sirens} added to this ”sound pollution”. I didn't sleep at all and at one point 04:00 felt like checking out. For the very first time, we even felt unsafe. Yes to be fair we understand management can not be blamed for the noise but I am sure that on a ”normal” day or weekend, the road noise will also affect the quality of your stay. I will never stay in the ”luxury” tented accommodation again. There are far better value-for-money options available at Arrebusch. BACK TO THE TENTS

Abbiamo avuto un ottimo soggiorno a Hartmann. L'unica cosa che volevo che avessi era uno specchio corporeo completo. Certamente farò Hartmann Suites il mio soggiorno andare avanti ogni volta che sono a Windhoek. Il servizio che abbiamo ricevuto da Maryka è stato fenomenale. Abbiamo soggiornato in questo hotel diverse volte e l'abbiamo assolutamente amato. Le migliori caratteristiche sono: L'hotel è situato su una collina che consente una grande vista sulle colline, la città sotto e il fantastico sole. È gratificante prestare attenzione ai dettagli forniti dalla direzione; le camere e i locali sono ben puliti e in buone condizioni di lavoro. Il personale è gentile, amichevole e si prefigge di piacere. Il buffet del colazione è sputoso. Il pranzo, i piatti e i menu di bevande sono completi. Ci siamo trasferiti due notti e il buon manager ci ha dato un check-out tardivo perché il nostro volo era in serata. Ci siamo divertiti e sicuramente torneremo.

A mall is next door but you need to taxi to see any sites. Outlets are strangely hidden behind furniture which makes it inconvenient to charge your phone. The remote for the TV and A/C is bizarrely given to you with the room key, it should stay in the room. And thus the a/c was not on when I entered the room. The free bottles water was not the fridge where I could have had cold water waiting for me. The behind the bed lamp takes the room lighting from dim yellow to natural white yet it doesn't stay on for long and would start flickering. The ceiling light is in your eyes when you're lying in bed looking at your phone. I found a roach in my room so I shouldn't have left my suitcase open. Bedsheets had a blood stain on them. There's no room for towels in the bedroom so it took me a minute to find them in the room. No solid hand soap for sink, just body wash in a tube. Towel had stains on it, bathroom mirror is too low, its next to the sink. it should be a few inches higher. Rate is $51 a night for a single room, they they charge extra per child. Don't get a room on the first floor. The hotel doesn't have umbrellas for guests. The restaurant menu does not have a meat free pasta option for vegetarians. They have a whole seafood section but not a vegetarian option. The alfredo pasta was more like a cheddar soup. Service is slow in restaurant, then asked if I wanted to leave a tip. They had an impressive collection of cakes. For breakfast they put the salami together with the cheese, cucumber and tomatoes and only one tong. I don't want to eat a cucumber that's touching meat. The mushrooms were burnt beyond recognition. Only canned fruit was served at breakfast. I liked the passion fruit welcome drink when I arrived at the hotel.
