Eccezionale
Silvia was our receptionist and go-to person. She was truly AMAZING! She is a delightful young lady who was our contact person, greeted us, carried our luggage ( the stairs were a bit difficult for me), called taxis for us, brought extra blankets, prepared breakfast, recommended restaurants and sites in Ciombra…there was nothing she wasn’t available to do. She was always smiling and friendly. While the property is on a large piece of land and is farm like it is NOT in the countryside. It is in a suburban area 10-15 minutes from Coimbra. We were specifically attracted to being in the countryside so this was a disappointment. Even with Apple CarPlay, our gps system, we missed the street several times. The name of the street is not well marked. The property is behind a lovely gate and parking is readily available. This was a plus. Our room was very large ( bedroom, separate living room, bathroom, entry space)and had lovely views overlooking the grounds, the pool and distant mountains. We booked on *********** “ Family Room with Balcony” 441 sq/ft. and stayed Sept 29-Oct.1. The room was stylish and very clean with big windows overlooking the grounds. However there were many flaws. There were no glasses for water in the room, no water provided, no conditioner in the shower, no robes or slippers, only 2 very flat pillows, one set of towels. We were offered use of the communal kitchen but this was not inviting. We were shown the refrigerator and told there was a different shelf designated for each room. Too much like a college dorm or work fridge. We could use the kitchen as we wished but did not avail ourselves. Silvia did immediately bring us an extra duvet when we found the room too cold. She did offer to turn the radiators on but we were afraid we would find it too hot.There was no thermostat for us to control. There were enough outlets for adapters and charging cables. We did not expect USB ports as is common in Portugal.wi-fi was good. The worst was the shower. It’s a beautiful walk in with a rain shower but on the first morning my husband had cold water. I had scalding hot then tepid then cold. And yes…we do know how to turn on and adjust the water. On the second morning we both had COLD showers. The hair dryer was terrible…barely dried my short hair. The room was not serviced. We came back after a long day exploring Coimbra to find an unmade bed and wet towels. So we made the bed and used wet towels… The breakfast, again Silvia was the star, was in a small dark room with a buffet selection on a narrow sideboard. There were decent choices…cheeses, bread and good coffee and scrambled eggs. One table was so close to the sideboard we couldn’t access those foods without being rude. We did take taxis into Coimbra . We thankfully had a hotel address card to show drivers for our return trip. Even with that, both drivers had a difficult time finding the property. MMatías RubioloSolar Antigo is a must-visit in Coimbra for anyone seeking a top-notch experience. We stayed in a room with a jacuzzi and a stunning view of the city, which we thoroughly enjoyed. It was my wife’s birthday, and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and celebrated. They even included a small cake with a candle for the in-room breakfast—such a thoughtful touch! The welcome sparkling wine and cake were also a delightful surprise. Their exceptional attention to detail and outstanding customer service truly set them apart. Highly recommended for an unforgettable stay!

UUtente ospiteWe were very happy with our two-night stay in Studio no. 12, which was spacious, tastefully appointed and had everything we needed. The host/manager Ricardo was very solicitous, regularly checking that we were satisfied and asking whether we needed anything. Our only real bone of contention had less to do with Sophia Studios and more to do with the location, with noise from the [busy] street outside and nightclubs and the like penetrating the fully closed windows and shutters. That aside, the location is excellent, within walking distance of everything you'll want to see.

We had a family suite here, overlooking the river. The room was large and clean and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom looked to be new and well equipped. The desk staff are friendly, helpful and speak English. There is daily service for the rooms. Parking is very close, cheap and safe. The added bonuses of staying here are a shared kitchen with a small, delightful rooftop terrace and a larger terrace on the first floor. Walking over the bridge to the main pedestrian street takes less than 5 minutes. The Santa Clara neighborhood is quiet with a number of restaurants. A large supermarket is about a ten minute walk away from town. NOTE - it is difficult to find the building coming in off the highway. It is and the end of the block with no clear identification by the door. The name is on the river side. You need to drive over a sidewalk from the main road as the short street is quite easy to miss. This place is a real find, so glad we stayed here!

La posizione è buona, proprio oltre il fiume Coimbra, quindi è stato un breve passo verso la strada principale. Le camere dell'hotel sono in due edifici laterali, riempiti di scale interne e di spazi strani. La nostra camera sembrava (dalla mappa sulla porta) una delle più grandi, ma ha anche due letti Murphy accanto a una letto matrimoniale. La camera è piccola e il bacino è piccolo senza fermata. E non c'è posto dove metterci nulla nel bagno. Non riesco a immaginare quattro persone condividono quel bagno. Altri nel nostro gruppo si lamentavano di avere piccole camere, quindi c'era chiaramente molta variazione. La casa era molto pulita e la casa era molto carina.

NNunoMC_85A localização é ótima: apesar de não ser tão perto das principais atrações da cidade, fica numa região com várias opções de transporte, além de supermercados e locais para comer. O preço é um grande diferencial, tendo boas acomodações com ótimo espaço a um preço excelente. Apesar de a rua ser um tanto movimentada, não tivemos qualquer problema com barulho à noite. Mesmo não havendo ar condicionado e fazendo muito calor durante o dia, ficar com as janelas parcialmente abertas à noite foi mais que suficiente para ter uma boa noite de sono. Necessita atenção a detalhes em reparos que não custam muito e, por não terem sido feitos, acabam dando mau aspecto a um quarto que se nota ter sido renovado há pouco: a torneira não está bem fixa na pia, uma cortina não pode ser recolhida e a ducha não fica bem fixa no suporte durante o banho. O atendimento é bastante acolhedor, porém, só por questão de informação adicional, tivemos problema no pedido para deixarmos nossas bolsas de viagem antes do check-in, pois chegaríamos ainda pela manhã na cidade: sei que isso não é uma obrigação da acomodação, mas um dos motivos de reservarmos esta acomodação foi justamente por termos recebido a confirmação de que poderíamos deixar nossas coisas no hotel antes do check-in (que ocorre às 15h). Porém, como regra não há qualquer pessoa na recepção antes das 12h (ou seja, até essa hora nunca é possível deixar suas coisas lá) e no dia em que fomos não haveria ninguém nem mesmo até as 15h; pensamos apenas que poderia ter havido aviso prévio deste pormenor ou mesmo resposta quando tentamos contato, pois isso atrapalhou um pouco nossos planos na cidade. Entendemos perfeitamente as razões dadas, mas ainda assim achamos justo haver uma maior preocupação da acomodação nessa questão.
