La metropolitana di Taipei (MRT) è operativa tutti i giorni dalle 6:00 circa fino a mezzanotte. Nelle ore di punta, i treni passano ogni 2-5 minuti, mentre a tarda notte l'attesa è di circa 7-10 minuti.

⏱️ Mi è capitato spesso di prendere l'ultimo treno da Ximen dopo una cena fuori a tarda sera: zero stress! Le stazioni indicano chiaramente gli orari dell'ultima corsa per ogni binario, così non dovrai mai preoccuparti di restare a piedi.

Questa è stata la linea che ho usato di più! Ti porta dal suggestivo nord (Tamsui) fino alle zone più vivaci della città, tra shopping e grattacieli.

  • Tamsui (淡水): Una splendida passeggiata lungo il fiume, calamari fritti croccanti e delizioso street food 🌅
  • Beitou / Xinbeitou (北投 / 新北投): sorgenti termali e bagni pubblici ♨️
  • Shilin (士林): Un enorme mercato notturno con di tutto, dalla cotoletta di pollo XXL al bubble tea 🍗🧋

Ideale per: shopping, mercati notturni e collegamenti

Questa linea attraversa il cuore pulsante del centro di Taipei, fungendo da vera e propria colonna portante sia per i viaggiatori che per gli abitanti del posto.

🚉 Stazioni imperdibili:

  • Banqiao (板橋): scopri vivaci centri commerciali e un importante snodo dei trasporti, il punto di partenza ideale per raggiungere Taichung, Tainan e Kaohsiung.
  • Ximen (西門): Street food, moda e sale giochi – immaginala come la Shibuya di Taiwan 🎮🛍️
  • Zhongxiao Fuxing (忠孝復興): l'imponente centro commerciale SOGO e una varietà di negozi giapponesi
  • Taipei City Hall (市政府): un vivace quartiere dello shopping a due passi dall'iconico Taipei 101.
  • Nangang Exhibition Centre (南港展覽館): eventi, fiere e il punto di partenza della MRT per l'aeroporto

📌 Consiglio: questa linea è molto affollata nelle ore di punta — organizza i tuoi spostamenti se preferisci viaggiare con più tranquillità.

🟢 Linea Verde (Linea Songshan–Xindian 松山新店線)

Percorso: Songshan – Xindian
Ideale per: cultura, natura e mercati notturni

Ho adorato questa linea perché collega siti storici e piccole perle culinarie locali. Ti porta anche verso parchi in riva al fiume e alcuni quartieri a misura di studente.

🚉 Stazioni imperdibili:

  • Songshan (松山): Il mercato notturno di Raohe si trova proprio fuori dalla stazione – devi assolutamente provare i panini al pepe! 🌶️
  • Nanjing Fuxing (南京復興): Cambia qui per la Linea Marrone – un posto fantastico per un po' di shopping!
  • Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall (中正紀念堂): una piazza mozzafiato, una storia ricca e l'iconico cambio della guardia
  • Gongguan (公館): un vivace quartiere universitario ricco di caffè incantevoli, librerie e specialità locali a prezzi convenienti 🍱
  • Xindian (新店): natura, il ponte sospeso di Bitan e barche a remi 🚣‍♀️

📌 Consiglio: perfetto per un pomeriggio che inizia all'insegna della cultura e si conclude con una rilassante passeggiata nel parco.

🟠 Linea Arancione (Linea Zhonghe–Xinlu 中和新蘆線)

Percorso: Nanshijiao – Luzhou / Huilong (a forma di Y)
Ideale per: immergersi nella vita locale e scoprire Taipei fuori dai sentieri battuti

Questa linea era un po' più tranquilla e offriva uno splendido scorcio sulla vita quotidiana degli abitanti del posto. È comunque ben collegata e vale decisamente la pena farci un giro se ami spingerti fuori dai sentieri battuti.

🚉 Stazioni imperdibili:

  • Nanshijiao (南勢角): Street food locale e mercati
  • Daqiaotou (大橋頭): Proprio accanto a Dihua Street – scopri la medicina tradizionale cinese e incantevoli botteghe di tessuti.
  • Luzhou (蘆洲): l'ideale per immergersi nell'atmosfera locale e andare alla scoperta di templi tradizionali.
  • Zhongxiao Xinsheng (忠孝新生): un rapido collegamento con la Linea Blu

📌 Consiglio: Non sottovalutate questa linea — a volte i posti migliori dove mangiare si nascondono proprio in questi quartieri "locali"!

🌈 Linea Marrone (Linea Wenhu 文湖線)

Percorso: Zoo di Taipei – Centro Espositivo di Nangang
Ideale per: panorami mozzafiato, fauna selvatica, piantagioni di tè e natura

Questa linea è sopraelevata, quindi i panorami sono assolutamente mozzafiato, perfetti per chi ama il verde lussureggiante e le montagne che fanno da cornice.

🚉 Stazioni imperdibili:

  • Taipei Zoo (動物園): Una delle mete preferite dalle famiglie e casa dei tenerissimi panda 🐼
  • Parti per un'avventura ad alta quota con la Maokong Gondola! Facilmente raggiungibile dallo zoo, questa funivia con il fondo di vetro offre viste panoramiche mozzafiato su Taipei. E la parte migliore? In cima troverai incantevoli sale da tè pronte ad accoglierti! 🍵
  • Technology Building (科技大樓): fantastici posti per la colazione nei paraggi
  • Nangang Exhibition Center: come passare alla Linea Blu

📌 Consiglio: Raggiungi Maokong di mattina presto per un tè rigenerante immerso nella quiete: ti sembrerà proprio di essere nelle Cameron Highlands!

💡 Consiglio: non dimenticare di acquistare una eSIM per una connessione internet senza interruzioni a Taiwan! È economica e perfetta per restare sempre connessi durante i tuoi spostamenti.

🟪 MRT dell'Aeroporto di Taoyuan (桃園機場捷運)

Percorso: Aeroporto di Taoyuan – Stazione Centrale di Taipei
Ideale per: Trasferimenti aeroportuali – rapidi, senza intoppi e a prova di bagaglio

Ci sono due opzioni di treno tra cui scegliere:

  • Treno Express: meno fermate, circa 35 minuti
  • Treno regionale: effettua più fermate, per una durata di circa 50 minuti.

🧳 Alcune compagnie aeree, come EVA Air, ti permettono persino di fare il check-in dei bagagli alla Taipei Main Station: non è fantastico?!

📍 I miei consigli per viaggiare con la MRT:

  • 🗣️ Non preoccuparti se non parli il mandarino: basta un sorriso e chiedere con gentilezza. Gli abitanti del posto sono incredibilmente disponibili.
  • 🧭 Usa Google Maps o l'app Taipei MRT: sono super precise e offrono aggiornamenti in tempo reale.
  • 💳 Prendi una EasyCard (ne parleremo meglio più avanti!) e ricaricala nei convenience store
  • 📸 Fai uno screenshot della mappa della MRT o salvala offline sul tuo telefono!
  • 🚦 Segui attentamente le indicazioni in stazione — i binari sono chiarissimi e divisi per colore!

Ho trovato un gioiello! Questo hotel è comodissimo dalla stazione MRT ed è un posto strategico dove soggiornare se si vuole prendere il treno locale per raggiungere altre zone di Taipei per una breve gita di un giorno, come Hualien, Taizhong ecc. L'hotel è anche molto grande e nuovo e il check-in è stato molto semplice! Ci tornerò sicuramente se andrò a Taipei! La camera è spaziosa anche per due bagagli grandi.

Si accede direttamente al piano B1 dell'hotel tramite il passaggio sotterraneo M6 della stazione ferroviaria di Taipei.

Only downside was the carpet had aome stains and the room is slightly dusty when we reached. It got much better after we asked room service to clean it the next day, but the carpet stains were still there, but I think they were mostly from the furniture paint. Most importantly, walls have no mould, toilet and the bed are very clean. Location is great and around 8min walk from MRT.

Great location next to Shandao temple MRT and within walking distance to Taipei station, nice restaurants, cafes and the famed Fuhang soy milk. I also enjoyed the excellent lunch buffer at the hotel restaurant Kitchen 12 at incredibly reasonable price. But please note that Marriott Bonvoy platinum elite or higher tier members do not receive the usual executive lounge access or free breakfast if you book via Trip.com (you need to book directly with Marriott to enjoy the benefits).

My 4-night stay at Hotel Éclat Taipei was incredible. The hotel doubles as a private art gallery, with stunning sculptures and paintings at every turn. The service was warm and personal, and the room was filled with high end comforts that made the trip feel truly special. Perfectly located in the Da’an District, it is a quiet, stylish masterpiece. Highly recommended! They make a great espresso martini 👌

I thought a comfortable mattress is basic requirement. First thing, their mattresses are 2 single mattress to joint together become a “king size” bed. Second thing, the quality of mattress are terrible, no matter which single mattress to sleep on or even change to different room, still wonky mattress. I have to said how long they have not changed the mattress. I have told about the mattress quality to the reception, I got their response to say, their mattress brand is Simmons. I said to the lady, mate the problem is not the brand, the problem is the mattress is old need to be replaced. Changing the room was not resolved the issue.

Hotel is small but the location is excellent, basically within walking distance to everything you want to around Taipei 101. Yes it will be noisey since its in downtown but thats something I'm willing to sacrifice for the convenience. First day check in went smoothly front desk staff was very friendly and worked efficiently, but that is where the positives end. I stayed for total of 3 nights, for the first two nights, since I'm solo traveling and I'm not a messy person, I put on the DND light and chose not need housekeeping. For the third night I finally put on the housekeeping light and left my room around 10-11am, when I came back later I found my room was not cleaned at all and I was told since its late they can only offer me fresh towels. I'm an easygoing person so I didnt make a big fuzz about it, but just surprising to me since I have never been to a hotel that failed at the one thing they are supposed to do.

I had an excellent stay at the Grand Hyatt Taipei. The location is unbeatable—right next to Taipei 101 and in the heart of the Xinyi district, making it so convenient for sightseeing, shopping, and dining. From the moment I arrived, the service was warm and attentive. The lobby is beautiful and welcoming, and the staff always greeted me with a smile. My room was spacious, very clean, and well-designed, with a comfortable bed and a great view of Taipei 101. Housekeeping kept everything spotless during my stay. Breakfast was another highlight—the buffet had a wide variety of delicious choices, both Western and Asian, and everything was fresh. I also appreciated the hotel facilities, especially the gym and pool, which were well maintained. Overall, I highly recommend the Grand Hyatt Taipei for anyone visiting the city. It truly delivers a luxury experience with comfort, excellent service, and perfect location. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Taipei.

Overall, I had a wonderful stay at Ambience Hotel Taipei. The hotel is exceptionally clean and comfortable, and the atmosphere is calm and relaxing. What really stood out to me was the front desk staff. They were incredibly helpful, warm, and enthusiastic, making me feel genuinely welcomed from the moment I arrived. I also loved that the first floor has a small corner selling ********* souvenirs. The items are very unique and thoughtfully selected, and the staff even helped recommend gifts, which I really appreciated. The absolute highlight of this hotel is the breakfast. While the selection isn’t huge, it’s more than sufficient and very well prepared. Everything I tried was delicious, and the dining atmosphere was so comfortable that I ended up enjoying breakfast there for two days in a row. I was so full and satisfied that I couldn’t even eat lunch afterward. I sincerely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Taipei. It’s a place that makes you feel relaxed, well taken care of, and truly at home.

We just returned to the Philippines after a wonderful 10-day stay at Finders Hotel Qufian, and we truly couldn’t be happier with our experience. We came in not expecting much, but this hotel completely exceeded our expectations. The staff were consistently friendly, helpful, and made both check-in and check-out smooth and easy. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed. We absolutely loved the ambience of the hotel, everything was clean, cozy, and thoughtfully designed, especially for families. Traveling with a child can sometimes be challenging, but this place had everything we needed. The kids’ playroom was a highlight, our daughter loved it so much and genuinely enjoyed every moment of our stay. The room, while not very large, was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The temperature and heating were just right, making it very relaxing after long days of exploring. The bed is more of a typical Asian-style mattress (not super soft), but it was perfectly fine for us and didn’t affect our comfort. Breakfast was consistently excellent. We especially enjoyed the Chinese cuisine selection, and the unlimited beverages, coffee, snacks, and even noodles were such a thoughtful touch, perfect for those late-night cravings! The WiFi was fast and reliable, which was important for me as I had online meetings and even did some Netflix streaming without any issues. Location-wise, it’s fantastic, close to many of Taipei’s must-see attractions like Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, National Taiwan Museum, and 228 Peace Memorial Park (which we absolutely loved). It’s also conveniently near NTU Hospital Station, making it easy to get around the city. This is a hotel I would highly recommend, especially for families traveling with kids. In fact, I’ve already recommended it to friends! We will definitely be booking here again on our next trip to Taiwan.

The location is absolutely fantastic - a lot of small cafes and convenience shops are nearby, and Ximen metro station is just minutes away. The blinds situation can be improved — they do not cover the entire bathroom, so by 7am the room is too bright to sleep in without an eye mask.

1. Misleading Entrance Signage Upon arrival, we followed the signage pasted on a pillar that directed guests to a staircase entrance. However, when we reached that entrance, we were shocked to find the door marked with the sign “来宾止步” (“Guests Stop Here”). When we raised this with your staff, we were told that this entrance has not been in use since the COVID-19 period. While we understand that certain operations may have changed during the pandemic, COVID-19 restrictions have ended for more than two years. If the primary entrance has been permanently closed, why has no corrective action been taken and the misleading signage still left there? Carrying heavy luggage up and down a sloped path unnecessarily was frustrating and avoidable. 2. No Staff Assistance or Clear Signage at the New Entrance When we finally located the new entrance, there were no staff members on standby to assist us, nor was there any clear external signage indicating that this was the correct way to access the lobby. The explanation given later was that all staff were away assisting with parking which is not acceptable. At least one person should have been assigned to remain at the entrance, or the last person leaving should have arranged for another colleague to cover the position. In addition, the Operations Director mentioned that there is signage inside the new entrance directing guests to take the elevator to the lobby. However, this logic is flawed. If guests cannot locate the correct entrance in the first place, how could they possibly see a sign placed inside? 3. Poorly Trained and Unprofessional Front Desk Behavior After struggling outside, we called the number listed on Google. Only then did someone finally come out and lead us in. By that time, we were exhausted and upset. When we confronted the front desk staff about why they ignored us, despite us clearly visible outside the “来宾止步” glass door, making eye contact and knocking for help, but they claimed they “did not see us.” This excuse was clearly untrue, as we observed them looking in our direction. Even more disappointing, none of the front desk staff offered an apology even until we requested to speak to the Operations Director and asked him to review the CCTV footage. After reviewing the footage, the Operations Director confirmed that the front desk had not been alert and apologized on their behalf. However, he did not acknowledge that the front desk’s attitude and lack of sincerity were also serious problems. Being “not alert enough” and showing no sense of apology or empathy are two entirely different issues. As an international hotel, the front desk is the first impression of your service. Regardless of the quality of your facilities, this poor experience completely overshadowed the positive aspects of our stay. It also severely damages the reputation of Kagaya Group — a brand that has long been admired for its exemplary Japanese hospitality and politeness. Although we appreciate the Operations Director’s effort to make amends by offering us a meal and gifts (which we declined), it remains undeniable that this incident reflects a failure in staff training and management oversight. We hope that management will seriously review this incident, especially the issues of: - Inadequate and misleading signage at the entrance - Lack of staff presence and assistance upon guest arrival - Poor front desk awareness and unprofessional behavior We trust that Kagaya Group will uphold its proud tradition of service by addressing these problems promptly and ensuring no other guests experience such treatment in the future. Siamo rimasti molto delusi dal servizio offerto, soprattutto considerando che abbiamo pagato 600 dollari a notte per una camera familiare. Ci è stato comunicato che l'hotel non offre il servizio di pulizia giornaliero e che gli ospiti devono richiederlo lasciando un biglietto alla reception. Abbiamo richiesto specificamente il cambio degli asciugamani e lo svuotamento del cestino, poiché l'hotel ha affermato di avere carenza di personale (un problema che non dovrebbe essere a carico degli ospiti). Tuttavia, al nostro ritorno in camera, abbiamo trovato asciugamani sporchi lasciati in bagno e rifiuti ancora sul lavandino e accanto al cestino. Nonostante quanto sopra, consiglierei questo hotel solo a chi viaggia con bambini, in quanto dispone di un'area giochi interna e offre snack gratuiti e aperitivi per gli ospiti.

We truly enjoyed our stay at this hotel, which exceeded our expectations. The location is ideal, just a few minutes’ walk from an MRT station, making it easy to get around. The service was impeccable, with attentive, professional, and always friendly staff. The rooms are modern, comfortable, and very clean, featuring bathtubs fed by the thermal springs, providing a genuine moment of relaxation and well‑being. The facilities are varied and thoughtfully designed, from the communal baths and pools to the relaxation areas, making the experience even more enjoyable. The only minor point concerns the breakfast: while very pleasant and true to local flavors, we found little in the way of sweet options. As French travelers, we might be a bit more particular about this, but it’s really a minor detail compared to the overall quality of the stay. Overall, our experience was very positive. The stay was relaxing and well‑organized, and we highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to enjoy a wellness-focused stay in Taipei

This hotel is superb. Location.. Easy to connect anywhere, walking distance with a lot of local shops. Everyday day evening serve local porridges and diff favourite of ice cream to stay in guest. I feel so warmth especially come back fr work everyday, and the hot porridge is serve. If I choose not to clean my room during my stay, I can get a small gift for that day. This is so sustainable tourism stay, I ma looking forward my small gift every day with just small step of action to support SDG. Their politeness, helpful make me feel very warmth The bed is so comfort, room is very quite, I love their Dyson hairdryer so so much. Overall the stay is above my expectation and feel very warmth and satisfied stay for my 5D4N here.

San Want Residence Taipei is truly an excellent five-star hotel. The moment I entered, I was impressed by its elegant décor and warm atmosphere. The room was beautifully designed, spacious, and very comfortable, with every detail well thought out. Including Genelec speakers for the Sony TV. Japanese bath was wonderful. The staff were exceptional — polite, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. Service felt very personal and professional, making me feel completely at home. They are attentive to my needs and eager to help. Breakfast was delicious with a good variety. Location is also convenient, close to transport and shops. Overall, a wonderful experience — one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in Taipei. Highly recommended!

The king size bed is very comfortable but the pillow are too soft. It’s a pity they do not have indoor swimming pool, otherwise I would like to dip in the pool. Location is good as it is surrounding with a few shopping malls and also within walking distance from Zhongshan metro station to Taipei main station. Also within walking distance to a night market. Also a walk of 8-10mins, I can go for supper at the ramen store that open until 3am.

Offrivano un sacchetto di caramelle economiche da riempire a volontà e un servizio pomeridiano con non solo torte ma anche spuntini leggeri. Sono stata particolarmente contenta che mi abbiano cucinato al momento i noodles con carne di manzo, permettendomi di preparare la mia zuppa personalizzata. È stato anche fantastico avere un grande supermercato aperto 24 ore su 24 e un minimarket nelle vicinanze. Anche le docce e i bagni erano a posto.

E tutto questo a solo poche fermate di MRT!

I treni sono pulitissimi, le stazioni sono ben segnalate e i collegamenti sono incredibilmente fluidi. Per chi è abituato a treni affollati e a complicati cambi di autobus, sono rimasto davvero colpito! 🙌
