Review: 5-Star Hotel Stay – Mixed Experience. I recently stayed at this 5-star hotel Aug 2025, which, despite its grandeur, is showing its age at nearly a decade old. The property retains an elegant charm, but certain aspects left me with mixed feelings. Room and Cleanliness: The room was impressively spacious, a highlight of the stay, with a bit old decor and ample space to relax. However, the cleanliness was average at best. While the surfaces appeared tidy, there were noticeable signs of wear, and the pervasive smell of cigarette smoke was a major downside. I had specifically requested a non-smoking room through Trip.com and reiterated this during check-in, but was informed that no non-smoking rooms were available. As a gesture, the staff upgraded me to a higher-tier room, which I appreciated, but the cigarette odor was still strong, lingering in both the room and the hotel corridors. This was particularly disappointing for a 5-star property. Service Issue: To address the smoke smell, I called room service to request an air freshener. After waiting 30 minutes with no delivery, I had to call again. The second time, the staff promptly delivered it, which helped slightly, but the experience felt inconsistent with the hotel’s luxury branding. Amenities: On a positive note, the breakfast was exceptional—diverse, mix of local and International cuisine. The swimming pool was another highlight, well-maintained, and a relaxing spot to unwind with an indoor and outdoor scenic view. Overall: While the spacious rooms, fantastic breakfast, and nice pool were highlights, the cigarette smell and inconsistent service detracted from the experience. For a 5-star hotel, I expected better attention to cleanliness and guest requests. I’d recommend this hotel for its amenities but urge management to address the smoking issue and improve service responsiveness to truly meet 5-star standards. Rating: 3.5/5

My two-night stay was seamless. The check-in process was swift and courteous. My room offered a quiet, luxurious retreat with excellent soundproofing, a plush bed, and all the thoughtful touches a seasoned traveler appreciates — from a well-stocked minibar to sleek workspace lighting. The Executive Lounge was a standout: • Afternoon Tea featured delicate pastries, savoury bites, and premium teas with skyline views. • Dinner service balanced Asian and Western selections, all fresh and well-presented. • Staff were discreet, sharp, and intuitive — offering genuine hospitality without overstepping. The breakfast buffet at Sailendra Restaurant was exceptional — one of the best in Jakarta. A diverse spread of international and local dishes, live egg and noodle stations, vibrant tropical fruits, cold-pressed juices, and artisan breads made for a lavish yet balanced start to the day. Beyond the hotel, its central location puts you steps from upscale malls (Lotte Shopping Avenue, Pacific Place), fine dining, and major business hubs — making it ideal for both leisure and corporate travel. Verdict: JW Marriott Jakarta delivers quiet luxury with heart. It’s polished but never pretentious, spacious yet personal. For travelers who appreciate details, consistency, and calm in the middle of a bustling city — this is where Jakarta slows down and shines

Ho prenotato la sala dirigente con accesso alla sala da pranzo pacifica. Il servizio era caldo e amichevole, sempre voleva piacere. La stanza era più piccola di quanto mi aspettavo, tuttavia confortevole. A parte il servizio di colazione meno pulito, il personale del salone era professionale ed efficiente. Mi sorprendeva molto il dono pensiero e molti biscotti di compleanno mi sorprendevano. Molto dolce squadra!

Anche se il servizio complessivo dell'hotel e la manutenzione sono buoni, la prova sonora della stanza richiede un miglioramento. Posso anche sentire il rumore dal corridoio e quando le tubazioni d'acqua sono azionate. La chiusura della porta principale della stanza e della porta del bagno sono influenzate da quando gli ospiti vicini aprivano e chiuse le loro porte.

Overall very good stay ⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had a pleasant experience at the hotel. The breakfast was excellent with many choices and good quality food. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, making it easy to relax after a long day. The only issue was with the bathroom design, it doesn’t have a dry and wet separation. Each time I took a shower, the floor became completely wet and slippery, which could be a bit unsafe if not careful. Other than that, everything else was great, and I would still recommend this hotel for both business and leisure stays.

I used to stay at Borobudor a long time ago. I just love the Sup Buntup although it has gotton so expensive (449,000,000 idr !) I checked into room 0886. There were a few problems in this room. Like the working chair - left side hand rest was loose and about to come off. The kettle cover had come off from the kettle. Not only that, when the water boils, steam comes out into the handle and can scorch the hand. I consider that to be unsafe. May be the electric kettle needs to be replaced. The wardrobe was old and creaking. Then on the 2nd day there was a very strong paint smell when I returned to the room in the early afternoon. The manager changed my room to 0982 instantly and somehow 0982 was good in all respects, although most things were old. I got a teh tarikh for all the trouble which is appreciated. I can live with old furniture so long as it is clean and in good working order. So please do something to room 0886 ! I hope this feedback is helpful to you.

Le strutture, il servizio e l'esperienza complessiva del Mandarin Oriental Jakarta sono peggiorati drasticamente. Shampoo, balsamo e bagnoschiuma nelle camere vengono erogati in grandi contenitori a parete. La colazione non è molto abbondante e rimane la stessa ogni giorno. I servizi dell'hotel stanno invecchiando e non bisogna aspettarsi un servizio eccessivo. La moquette in camera puzza e il purificatore d'aria che avevo richiesto non è stato consegnato fino al giorno successivo, nonostante le mie insistenze. È completamente diverso dal Mandarin Oriental che avete già sperimentato.

Il servizio era molto buono e la camera era molto pulita. Anche l'ambiente dell'hotel è molto buono. Il parco acquatico è uno dei preferiti dai bambini e la piscina è molto grande. Ci sono un sacco di scelte per la colazione. Durante il Capodanno cinese ho anche fatto dei piccoli regali ai bambini dopo il check-out. Non c'è niente di interessante a Giakarta, quindi anche soggiornare in un hotel è una buona opzione. Verrà di nuovo la prossima volta!

This hotel perfect for the firs timer to Jakarta. Located in the heart of Jakarta: Bunderan HI. premium location near high brand malls, you can easily stroll for nightlife, culture and heritage also museums nearby. hospitality excellent! I was upgraded to Grand Deluxe King type, and additional services for my husband bday.. really recommend this hotel to everyone who's first timer to Jakarta

The hotel is classy and aesthetically pleasing, situated in a prime location. However, the service fell short of expectations. I arrived at the hotel at 1:00 PM and was informed by the front desk that check-in would be available by 3:00 PM. Unfortunately, I wasn’t given a room until 4:00 PM—and it was not the room type I had clearly requested in the booking remarks. Additionally, the front desk assured me that my luggage would be delivered to my room, but after waiting for 30 minutes, I went downstairs to find it still sitting in the storage area unattended. For a hotel of this caliber, the lack of responsiveness and attention to detail was disappointing.
