I wanted to test the famous mud springs. This hotel reportedly has one of the best spas. Tips: - I decided to stay overnight in the hotel (2 spa entry tickets with a double room + bfast for $2800) instead of using a day ticket to the spa (400$). The village is far from the city, so staying overnight may cost slightly more than a cheap city hotel, but you're not in a rush and looking for buses etc. - Each spa ticket is basically 2x tickets (1 for the normal spa, and 1 for the naked single-sex spa), so if there are 2 of you, you could go to the naked spa one day and the main spa the next. - The spa has about 15 different hot spring pools, of different temperatures + ingredients, some clear and some ”mud”. There's also mud facials and fish-cleaning for your feet. The electric pools send electric shocks through your body too. There's a swimming pool. - They speak English (basic but enough). - You need a swimming hat and a towel. I took mine but the spa front desk also offered them to borrow. - Plan on spending 3 hours. I'm not a spa lover, but even i found myself taking long. - I went in May and the weather is not at all hot at that height. - Most ********* take their instant noodles in, so that they can eat inside and stay all day. - The hotel is quite beautiful, made from wood (on the face of it). It's got lovely seating areas and they put nice fairy lights everywhere at night. - The hotel room is comparatively expensive for Taiwan at $2800 for 3* (minus the 2x spa tickets of $400 each), but the cheapest ”no window” room (it has 2 windows, but no view) is big and has 2 large concrete baths in (1 for hot mud water + 1 for cold water to dip in and out). Therefore, given that it is a beautiful location too, I do think it's very reasonable. - The breakfast is mostly chinese but there's some western bits. It's standard for 3* but the location of the eating area has beautiful views of the jungle. - It's a 15 minute nice walk to lots of restaurants and a convenience shop.

Looks exactly like advertised. Quite conveniently located, short walking distance to Xinbeitou MRT station and opposite Beitou garden which has the beautiful wooden structured library, and you can stroll all the way to the Thermal Valley. Room was quite large, pretty well maintained, but showing it's age and maybe needing some TLC. Breakfast was the high point of the stay, as we totally enjoyed the variety that was on offer. Service was pretty good as well, and staff was warm and friendly. The only issue we had was that the hot water from the sink and shower took quite some time to warm up, and the water pressure was almost non existent, so it took quite some time to shower or use the sink. Overall, recommended for its location, breakfast and the fact that there is a hot spring tub in each room.

A beautiful hotel, with 5 star service, amenities and views. We enjoyed the outside spa experience. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Service staff very helpful and respectful. Able to speak English well. Thanks for a great stay.

Very good hotel for hot spring inside the room, where you can enjoy the mountain view and away from the city. There is shuttle bus from the station which is convenience. The room is very big and spacious. If you are looking for a relax hot spring holiday I would definitely recommend this hotel. The breakfast is included and the food has many choice from traditional ********* food to western style breakfast.

- Paid extra for a better room, Totally Worth It! Big and clean, but no view - Great location, easy access to the Taipei main station. I can get to anywhere easily. My Tainan friend caught a High Speed Rail to visit me, it was easy for her to get here - I would recommend to go straight up to the ground and drag your suitcase on the street with you if you are taking the Airport Express to Taipei station (Do not walk all the way to the MRT train closet exit because there are stairs) - I like the restroom, bathtub and shower. The Japanese washlet is fantastic because you cannot just throw toilet paper in the toilet in Taiwan - Bed is a bit too firm for me, personally prefer softer mattress - Breakfast has limited choices, I wish there are more - Staffs are very helpful and friendly. I was waiting for a shop to restock something, since I didn’t have a local number, I left the hotel number to the shop, and big thanks to Peggy for her help!!!

Convenient location, with Nike and other outlet shops, different types of food along the street. However, hotel is a little bit old and old style if you don’t mind, you can hear the air con, pipes or the sound of the next room at night, so if you are “lucky” to get one of these rooms, try to ask for another one. Be aware not to open the window, there’s mosquitoes to annoy you whole night. Remember to get mosquito repellent at the convenient store nearby. Breakfast include vegetarian selection with buffet style, eat all you want. **********************************************************

Overall services were good, from concierge, to check in and check out. The room that was allocated to us was spacious however they could have done better to do regular maintenance on their TV channels and systems. Some channels showed black screen with audio whereas some with visuals but no audio. Called up for service and they got a technician over to check yet no outcome and they decided to brush me off by blaming it on system updates backend. Tried over the next few days and still didn't work, and gave up eventually. Not returning to this hotel for my next trip to Taichung.

Not too bad, a very kid friendly hotel. It’s good to stay here when u are traveling with toddler, love their playroom which my son enjoys a lot in there.

Location is great! Theres a taxi stop/line right in front of the hotel. There’s so many things to do and explore around the hotel, the kids love it. We enjoy the breakfast buffet too! We would like to stay there again next time!

We booked a Japanese Superior Room for one adult, one teenage and a child. The room is way too small. There isn’t a place to put our luggages. The luggage rack adjust beside the door is not usable because if you put even a cabin luggage on the rack, you won’t be able to open the door. There is also no extra room to move around in the hotel room. Other than the room size, all other things are fine. Service is good and breakfast is very good too! The location is very convenient as it is just a 10-15 mins walk from the train station. There are convenient stall just a few mins away and there are many options for restaurant and street food nearby.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Yamagata Kaku Hotel & Spa, where the accommodations and cuisine were exceptional. However, what left a lasting impression was the outstanding service provided by a young staff member featured in the video. He warmly welcomed us upon arrival and bid us farewell upon departure, showcasing genuine kindness and courtesy. His exceptional hospitality is truly commendable. It was such a relaxing and enjoyable experience! This hotel really checked all the boxes for a comfortable and family-friendly getaway. The highlight for us was the tatami-style bed in the room. It’s low to the ground, which made it absolutely perfect for our toddler and 1-year-old. We didn’t have to worry about them rolling off the bed, and it even doubled as a safe, spacious play area during the day. The kids loved crawling and jumping around, and we parents could relax knowing they were safe. The private hot spring in our room was the best part of the stay. After a long day of traveling and exploring, being able to soak in the hot spring was exactly what we needed. It was clean, spacious, and perfect for unwinding while the kids napped or played. Orient Luxury Hotel in Jiaoxi is a fantastic choice for families, especially those with young kids. The tatami-style beds, private hot spring, and thoughtful service made our stay both relaxing and enjoyable. If you’re looking for a comfortable, family-friendly hotel in Yilan, this is definitely a great option. We left feeling refreshed and can’t wait to come back for another visit! The grandparents especially loved it—it was so convenient for them to enjoy the hot spring without having to leave the room. It really helped us recharge for the next day! The breakfast buffet was great! There was a good mix of Western and local ********* dishes, and everything was fresh and delicious. The kids enjoyed the pancakes and fruit, while the grandparents appreciated the traditional congee and hot tea.

Like the surrounding area. Many good restaurants nearby. Good location. Breakfast is delicious however few selections only. Overall very satisfied with the breakfast. Kids also enjoyed swimming at the outdoor swimming pool and also hot spring pool. Guests in Wellspring by Silks can also access to the Just Sleep’s facilities

One of the best hotel during my Taiwan trip. Room was big, clean and comfortable. Toilet came with a bidet. Underground parking was free. Good place to stay if you are driving.
