Sardegna, Italia: hotel sul mare

It is located in the Chia Laguna, one of the clusters of 4 and 5 stars of hotels. Beautifully managed landscapes and access to private beaches make this resort very attractive. However, it is for those who don't care about the quality of the hotel and for those who want to just sleep at night and take the most of the activities outside of the room. In terms of quality of the room, it requires lots of attention. You are most likely to enter your room through the sliding door, and then there is your bed, and there is a bathroom with a shower and toilet, bidet, and the sink. The bed is not comfortable, and there is a weird sewage smell coming from the bathroom, we had to spray our perfume and close the bathroom door, and leave the bathroom windows open. Typically, the hotel bathroom is a joy to enter, but this bathroom was one of those bathrooms that wanted to get out as fast as possible, especially with sewage smell. I had to dry my hair outside of bathroom so the sewage smell doesn't get to my hair. (Enough said) On top of our not-so-impressed experience, our neighbor left the TV on loud and party in their room until 3am, we couldn't sleep at all. Contacted the front desk at 1am, but loud noise still continued. Thank God, we only had to stay 1 night. I would have looked for another hotel if we had to stay one more night. Hotel reservations came with 2 meals, breakfast, and a dinner buffet. It was one of the worst food experiences not only in Italy but also in all the places we have ever been. At a glance, the buffet seemed fine and attractive, but as soon as we started tasting the food, we felt right away, we cannot expect much. Most of the dishes were extremely salty, lacked flavors, and the quality of each ingredient was bad compared to the dishes that we experienced in Cagliari. If you only care about the location and the beautiful beach access, this is the place for you, but if you care about all the aspects of what the resort hotel supposed to offer, it might be wise to either spend a bit more money and stay at either Curio or Conrad properties or consider different location or hotels. A pochi passi dalla fermata ARST di Santa Gallura, nel centro di Olbia, si trova l'hotel. È moderno, pulitissimo, confortevole, con una bella piscina e una spa. Era vicino alla stazione ferroviaria per prendere il treno per Cagliari. Il personale dell'hotel era cordiale, disponibile e parlava un inglese eccellente, in particolare una ragazza di nome Sofia. Abbiamo gustato un'ottima colazione a buffet in un'ampia e insolita sala da pranzo adibita a auditorium. La presenza di un bollitore per tè/caffè avrebbe reso il nostro soggiorno perfetto. Consigliatissimo. Mi piacerebbe condividere delle foto, ma non so come inviarle dal telefono al tablet. Lesley

Il personale della reception dell'hotel è gentile e paziente, un po' come le governanti dei drammi britannici, ahah. Le strutture sono buone, con docce, acqua calda, articoli da toeletta forniti e un piccolo frigorifero con varie bevande a pagamento. Le lenzuola e gli asciugamani sono bianchi e puliti. L'hotel è molto attento all'ambiente e incoraggia l'uso continuo. Puoi vedere il mare dal piccolo balcone. La posizione dell'hotel è ottima e il parcheggio è molto comodo. A poche decine di metri più avanti c'è l'attracco privato dello yacht, dove è possibile prenotare una crociera in mare. Nelle vicinanze è presente un centro turistico dove è possibile acquistare i biglietti del battello di andata e ritorno per visitare il Parco Nazionale delle Isole della Maddalena. C'è un supermercato accanto all'hotel e le verdure, la frutta e il pane sono tutti freschi.

Hotel is right in front of a big beach. Super not touristy and crowded beach and the scenery is very soft and calming. There is a cat and dog at the hotel that just walks around freely. They are both very friendly and fun to play with !!! As for the rooms, it is decently big for a 3 person room. Toilet is clean with enough amenities. Water pressure of the shower head is a bit weak sometimes but still ok. The beds are comfortable enough. However, there are quite a bit of insects flying around (I assume mostly because of the location of the hotel being near the beach and sandy areas). Restaurant at the hotel is quite good ! Dinner menu has a wide variety but availability of dishes depend on the day. As for breakfast, quite a handful of food is given like fruit platter, crossaints, yogurt, cereal, and choice of drinks. Staff are also friendly and understand English just enough, and are helpful when we ask something. Hotel area is quite small but honestly just enough for a short stay.

We absolutely loved our stay at Il Nuovo Gabbiano. The location is fantastic, right next to the port and in the centre of everything. The beach is only a 2 minute walk away! The view from the balcony was incredible with stunning views of the sea and mountains. Despite it being right next to the port, noise was minimal. Breakfast was extra at €14pp each day however we chose to buy juice and pastries from the nearby supermarket to have out on the balcony every morning. The room was fairly big and contained a mini bar (only containing bottles of water) and coffee/tea making facilities. The hotel itself was clean and the staff were always friendly and helpful. There’s no parking, however we parked in the port across the road for €6 per day. We came later in the day so we managed to find a spot, it gets quite packed early morning. The hotel restaurant does great food, I would recommend the Sardinian ravioli with potatoes and cheese!

The hotel is very clean and the staff at the reception is very welcoming and helpful! Breakfast is average. Parking is 15 euros per day but you can find free parking on the street nearby. The hotel is about 1.3km away from the port and there is a shuttle bus taking you there every hour from 9:30am to 7pm. It is walkable, but you have to climb up the hill when you walk back. Our room is facing the main road and some motorbikes were very noisy. It’s also interesting that they charge (around 2 euros) for refilling your water bottle, claiming this is to help the environment while you can buy a bottle of water less than 1 euro in a shop. We stayed in a different hotel and they have similar policies. I feel this is making money in the name of environmental protection. If it’s really for environment protection, I would suggest to offer free refilling.

Le camere e l'hotel sono arredati con molto gusto. Anche la posizione è fantastica, proprio di fronte all'hotel, con il mare e una fermata dell'autobus che porta a tutte le spiagge. C'è anche un supermercato nelle vicinanze. Purtroppo, la colazione è davvero scarsa e i prodotti da bagno sono di scarsa qualità. Non viene fornita nemmeno una saponetta. È un bell'hotel in sé, ma non vale il prezzo.

Ottima posizione, a soli 5 minuti a piedi dalla zona più centrale. Camere confortevoli e personale cordiale Il nostro volo era in ritardo e ci hanno tenuto i bagagli tutto il giorno e ci hanno persino permesso di fare una doccia nell'area spa.

Very attentive, well mannered and very professional staff, it was such a pleasure to stay here. Very relaxing and we enjoyed the Bistro restaurant a lot. Great staff again and really enjoyed the food. Rooms were very comfortable and clean, with everything you need! Can't fault anything about this place apart from the mosquitoes... not their fault obviously but just to let other patrons know to use bugs repellent and cover up at night. We stayed in other places in Sardinia and it's the same so not just here. We will definitely come back.

Abbiamo trascorso un piacevole soggiorno in Sardegna. La padrona di casa è stata molto accogliente, gentile e sempre positiva, facendoci sentire come a casa. La colazione era buona e la posizione è eccellente: a circa 10 minuti a piedi sia dalla costa che dal centro storico. Gli unici inconvenienti sono stati gli scarichi del lavandino e della doccia intasati per tutta la durata del soggiorno e il costo del cambio asciugamani di 4 € a persona. Nel complesso, abbiamo trascorso un piacevole soggiorno e apprezzato la calorosa ospitalità.
