PROS: Rooms were well-appointed (my family stayed in 2 adjoining rooms)toilet and bath was clean, although a bidet could be a welcome improvement and added toiletries like toothbrush and too to paste.
Location was great (Skybus fr the airport stops right at the hotel; near bus stops); staff was nice fr reception to housekeeping. Lobby has a decent lounge area.
CONS: Pool was dated and dark;
Lobby powder room was dated; toilet was smelly (ammoniacal), tiles looked unhygienic

Grande posizione, vicino alla porta di Travelodge dove la maggior parte delle tour parte da. Mercati Salamanca, numerosi buoni ristoranti tutti a passeggiata. Buon ristorante solo a piedi al signor Good Guy. Molto utile e amichevole personale. Ci hanno anche dato in prestito la scala dei bagagli e ci hanno dato altri caffè e latte. Tuttavia, potrebbe diventare un po' rumoroso la notte, perché potevamo sentire la gente parlare in sala.

Appena arrivato all'hotel troverai un aspetto un po'peggio, ma entrare nella stanza e l'ambiente può rendere l'hotel australiano raro e semplice e confortevole, specialmente lo spazio di lavanderia molto comodo. La difetta ovvia è il nuovo rapporto di prezzo, ma non aspettare che il prezzo dovrebbe essere un hotel di lusso o un hotel di vacanza di lusso; il vantaggio più grande è che è vicino al punto di partenza del gruppo di viaggi di Hobart; La principale svantaggio è che il ristorante dell'hotel non è solo disgustoso, e l'atteggiamento di servizio è molto povero. Easy check-in and out process, good location, could actually walk to Cataract George Reserve. Sufficient parking lot. An interesting place to stay with some activity within the hotel premises. The room was a bit too dim, even though they provided several lights, but all were yellow lights. There is noise (water flow?) that would be quite disturbing if you are a light sleeper.

Great atmosphere and location overall and superb service. It’s center to most places in Hobart (restaurants, shopping and Salamanca art center) and loved the convenience. If you are driving here then they offer valet parking for 45 AUD per night.

A charming historic landmark right on Macquarie Street- close to all landmark interests. I got upgraded to room 6 which was quite comfortable in size. Bed was comfy and nice bathroom. Breakfast is excellent- and included with my booking. Holly and staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommend. I went on a Bruny Tour - pickup nearby and saw the albino wallabies!

KKanchana KhamtaIf you have an early morning flight departing from Hobart Airport and do not have a car (for example, if you have already returned your rental car), I do not recommend staying at this hotel. Even though it is close to the airport, you may face serious transportation issues like the one I experienced.
The hotel is located about 1.8 km from Hobart Airport. By car or taxi, it takes around 5 minutes. However, if you walk, Google Maps shows it takes approximately 25–30 minutes.
On 13 December 2025 at around 5:00 PM, I asked the front desk staff to help me pre-book a taxi with 13CABS for the next morning, using my Australian local number from my eSIM. After the booking was completed, I received an SMS confirming my 13CABS request, including the pickup date and time, as well as a tracking link.
On the morning of 14 December, I checked out very early at 5:45 AM. At that time, the front desk was closed, so I returned the key card at the counter. I then opened the tracking link from the SMS to check the taxi’s location. I could see a car on the map, but it appeared to be quite far away. I decided to wait.
As the pickup time approached, I went outside to wait at the drop-off area, but no taxi arrived. I checked the tracking link again and found that the car was no longer coming.
At 5:54 AM, I received another SMS from 13CABS saying:
“Hi this is 13 CABS. We are sorry for the delay, we hope to have a vehicle to 1 Holyman, CAMBRIDGE shortly. Do you still require a taxi? Please reply Y/N.”
I replied “Y” immediately. After waiting another five minutes with no further updates, I started to feel very anxious.
At that point, I met a couple from Hong Kong who were experiencing the same issue—the taxi they had pre-booked also did not arrive.
I then called the after-hours reception number provided by the hotel. The staff member was very helpful and advised me to contact 13CABS directly to make a new booking.
When I called 13CABS, the operator made a new booking for me and sent another SMS confirmation. However, after waiting for quite a while, there was still no taxi. I asked the Hong Kong couple, and they told me their taxi was supposedly on the way.
About five minutes later, a taxi finally stopped at the drop-off area. The couple checked with the driver—it was not their booked taxi. I then asked the driver, and it was not booked under my name either. However, the driver explained that he was waiting in the airport queue and had received a call from head office instructing him to pick up passengers from Mantra Hobart Airport and take them to Hobart Airport.
In the end, both the Hong Kong couple and I shared that taxi. The driver charged me AUD 21 and charged the couple AUD 21 as well.
In conclusion, staying here is risky if you have an early morning flight, even though the hotel is close to the airport. You may encounter serious issues arranging transportation in the early hours and risk missing your flight.
That morning, while I was waiting at the drop-off area, I also saw a man walking from the hotel toward the airport, pulling his suitcase. Unfortunately, it was raining at the time, and the weather was cold, making the situation even worse.

WWarwagon86Fantastic trip and fantastic service at the Hilton Double Tree. Rooms and service were top-notch. Support from staff was fantastic too. My daughter hurt her foot in the pool and they sent her a little note and bar of chocolate which made her day - above and beyond. Our only complaint was the breakfast buffet was pretty average and with Hobart being such a vibrant bustling city of beautiful food they need to up their game. Everything was ok and a decent selection, however the hot food section was pretty poor and the sausages were like cardboard. Kids loved the cereal and fruits on offer so that was a bonus.

VViv Chan YCBest Western Plus is situated at a great and convenient location in the heart of CBS. it's within walking distance to almost all city attractions. the bed is v comfortable and facilities are good considering the room rate. it is also v close to the City Park, like 7 mins by walking, great to hv a run in the morning. The front desk staff are v friendly and helpful. Tamar Valley Cruise is 18 mins walking, you can book tickets online or buy it there.

GGeoffchoiThe hotel is close to the attractions in the national park. The rooms are cabins built along the hillside and the one I stayed in was quite big. We enjoyed the service in the Bay Restaurant next to the hotel reception. A very good experience for us.

The room is small, but it is super clean. We love the window in the roof and animals and fruit trees are around us.
We picked some pears, and plums. We fed the chicken and ducks, sheeps, hourses, and cow. My daughter really love them!!! The staff in reception are super nice! They gave my daughter animal food many times and still giving us a welcomed face! Really appreciated that!
Only one suggestion wanna make that there are only 1 washing machine and 1 dryer may not enough when some groups come. Thank you!

Absolutely cosy vibes with the wooden interior and balcony. Space is big with lots of room to navigate, and have separate areas for to do different things.
Lounge area has games (and heating, of course) if you are locked in by the weather which I thought was a nice touch. There is also a library of DVDs for you to borrow from if you’d like (lots of kids friendly titles). You can also see cradle mountain from the lounge area.
Kitchenette was also well furnished with sufficient items for us to do our cooking (you’d know that there aren’t much amenities in the area, please arrive prepared), including salt, pepper, and oil which other places may not actually didn’t provide in a kitchenette.

UUtente ospiteThe inn is in the Battery Point, which contains plenty of beautiful scenery and special buildings. There are many kinds of rooms and different demands can be satisfied. The kitchen is not so big but free coffee and tea is provided. Limited bathrooms so maybe you have to wait but unforgettable experience for us. Free parking lot is offered also. You can meet different visitors here and mostly of them are backpackers. During our stay here, it was the owner's daughter's birthday. Sweet bread and donuts are shared for free by him.
