Short walk
Nice short walk from the town (maybe 10 minutes to the top) then you'll have great views of the surrounding area!

Intriguing
So many possibilies of what went on here, the local community council and heritage council are doing research on what went on and there are many stories from locals about what they saw and heard about...

Medieval times
The Kilfinane Motte is accessible by walking through a field and trying to avoid all the teenagers hanging out there. Climbing to the top offers a nice view of the countryside.

Impressive
Very close to the Ballyhoura Way, so worth a visit. Also worth looking at is the Staker Wallis story in the main square.

Early Medieval Ring Fort
A mound forming the site of a castle or camp, and the large Anglo-Norman motte in Kilfinane appears to stand on the site of a significant early medieval ringfort.
