Visiting the home of the "father" of the Hudson River school of artistry was a bucket-list experience. Certainly not as vast and exuberant as Fredrick Church's Olana (which we toured the day before.....

disappointed

the guide was more interested in telling us slavery in the home than in explaining about Cole as an artist. we would have preferred to hear more about him as an artist and his travels

Not your average historic house

Excellent in every way. The program we attended was outstanding and the tour of the main house later was wonderful. A beautiful place, too.
