Busan is renowned across South Korea for its gorgeous beaches and ultra-modern shopping options. But dig a little deeper and youll find some fantastic local food option in the Gwangbokdong district. We spent an evening wandering the streets of Gwangbokdong, taking the plunge and trying all manner of weird and wonderful street food! Kimbap, sundae (not the icecream type!), ssiat hotteok and so much more. There's a real buzz, and it's so much fun simply exploring the streets at random and experiencing locals simply having a great time with friends and fmily. To get to Gwangbokdong, take the subway to Jagalchi Station, take Exit 7 to the street and then the first street on your left. Within a minute or two you’ll find yourself surrounded by food stalls to your left and right!
Nampo-dong is one of my favourite places to shop in the world. You can walk through these little streets of endless shops, restaurants, cafes, bars and food carts all day. It's great for souvenir shopping and clothes shopping with good quality things for a decent price. They don't usually accept bargaining, but knowledge of some Korean to make purchases helps. Come here hungry because you can feast on some of the best street food in the city as well.
The shops here are amazing! it looks like the streets here are organized by types: there's the home goods street, stationary street, clothing street, make up street, and hardware street. Locals and tourists come here to shop and browse. I just hope that they would put prices on the goods in the stores as without knowledge of the local language pretty prevents one from asking for price or buying even. But that's part of traveling adventure too.
