Museum Tsunami Aceh

A must visit museum when visiting Aceh. The museum is a symbolic structure and exhibition of the 2004 eartquake tsunami with magnitude of 9.2 to 9.3 that hit Aceh on 26th December and vanished 170,000 lifes of Indonesian, highest in the surrounding area of Aceh as the epicenrer was at the west coast of Aceh.The building resemble tsunami from above and visitors will be able to experienced the panic and devastating moment that peole went through during and after the tsunami. Ticket to enter about USD1.25, opening hour 9am to 4pm, but close everyday at 12noon to 2pm. Do note on the closing time at noon.Tips: The place is crowded during weekends and you will need min 2 hrs to go through the exhibitions. You may also buy your ticket right before 12noon, grab your lunch and enter at 2pm.
