Beautiful village with many nice photo spots and cafes, although somewhat commercialized. Many souvenir shops and costume rentals for photoshoots, but for someone from outside China there is still a lot to see and learn here from the Miao culture, and you can get a lot of nice photos. It’s also a lot easier to get to than the other Miao villages if you are solo and can’t rent a car, as there is a direct shuttlebus from just outside the HSR station - just check when the bus goes back again, as I almost missed the last one at 17.30 when I was there. I took it slow and spent a whole day here, but you can cover the most interesting areas and get a vibe for the place in 2-3 hours. Recommend trying the black pork skewers and seeing the welcome dance/performance in the town square.
