Fujian, Cina: hotel con vista mare

"The homestay apartment is located in a fantastic spot overlooking the water. There's plenty of eateries and shopping in the area. Taxis and didi drop off near the entrance. The room was spacious but needed a good clean. Mole and stains were visible everywhere. There's was a strong stale smoke smell in the apartment. Please note this place does not have a reception. You need to call them from the ground floor and they send someone down to collect you. This is common in China, but it's hard if you don't speak Chinese. We arrived from an overnight international flight and although we had WeChat, we struggled to communicate. Through the help of a young Chinese lady, she helped us check in."

"I was looking forward to this hotel after seeing the pictures and reviews on trip.com, but it left a lot to be desired. -They don’t provide large towels by default. I assumed they forgot my towels, then when I asked they brought me a set but showed me the disposable ones that were sitting in the room. I couldn’t believe they offer the tiniest, thinnest packets and think that’s an acceptable replacement for normal towels. At this price point, that shouldn’t be a reality anywhere in the world— after countless dozens of hotels I’ve stayed at in China that’s the first time I’ve witnessed such a thing. -They leave the toilet scrubber in the bathroom too, which I also never saw after countless hotels in China; clearly that’s an antiquated practice and doesn’t inspire confidence in the cleanliness of a room. Cleaning tools like that shouldn’t be stored in the guest rooms. -The city view was okay but the window was filthy -The room is no-smoking but they leave an ash tray My booked room says the 20th floor— when I arrived, I lugged my heavy bags to the 20th floor, but they immediately redirected me; we went back down, exited the building to another one nearby, then they checked me into an old room on a 10th floor. I didn’t understand why they did this (that room reeked of smoke too), then we packed everything up and went right back to the original building, to the 20th floor like I booked. Clearly that could have been avoided if they communicated to me the reason for the switch (they said afterwards they were upgrading me to a bigger room? But it was nearly the same size and the 10th floor one was just older, smellier and clearly a downgrade. Odd decision on their part). I’m not sure if this hotel does the delivery robot like most others, I doubt it. Luckily I came to town a day early, so the extra day I booked allowed me to see the condition of the hotel and I was able to cancel the rest of the stay I had booked— but for a fee of over 500rmb. The vast majority of Chinese hotels on this site offer free cancellations but this one was costly. I switched immediately to a brand hotel to be safe— there are countless other options in Xiamen at similar prices, I’d have to recommend looking elsewhere."

"Il design delle camere è semplice ma ben organizzato, con una doccia e un bagno a disposizione, mentre l'altra può lavarsi a mano nel lavandino esterno. L'armadio aperto facilita l'accesso ai vestiti subito dopo la doccia, pur essendo separato dal letto. C'è anche una bella vista dall'hotel/ristorante Pizza Hut sull'isola di Gulangyu. La posizione è meravigliosa, con la fermata dell'autobus turistico al piano inferiore e il terminal dei traghetti per Gulangyu proprio di fronte all'hotel. Mentre la strada pedonale ZhongShan è proprio accanto all'hotel, si può camminare fino alla strada del pesce. Si possono provare i granchi reali e le aragoste. Ci sono molti ristoranti tra cui scegliere. Tuttavia, molti ristoranti servono quasi lo stesso cibo. È un ottimo posto per fare shopping e acquistare souvenir. La stazione della metropolitana è a pochi minuti di distanza e si può raggiungere quasi qualsiasi luogo in metropolitana. Ci sono tour locali per vedere Hakka Tulou, la costa di Xiamen, Gulangyu; sono molto economici, ma fanno perdere un po' di tempo perché vanno e vengono in diverse località; inoltre, consentono di fare shopping prima del tour principale e di fare altro dopo. Non vi obbligano a comprare, però. Dipende interamente da voi. Se avete tempo e non avete fretta... sì, unitevi al tour: un'intera giornata tra i Tulou costa davvero poco, circa 128 RMB a persona. Buone vacanze a Xiamen."

"Il personale dell'hotel era molto amichevole e utile! amava il posto. Molto pulito, molto comodo. Vorremmo rimanere lì per molto tempo. Il colazione dell'hotel è stato anche molto buono! Ma c'è una cosa che mi sembra strano, che il bacino sia fuori dal bagno e dalla doccia, quindi al mattino, quando una persona si sveglia per essere pronta e usa il bacino, l'altra potrebbe essere disturbata."
