We booked this place as it had two beds and we were heading to Chimelong the next day. It was very clean. Check-in was a breeze and the cost was very inexpensive with a Trip discount. No deposit fee for the key. Close enough to the Zhuhai Train Station to walk but wouldn't want to do it on a hot day, good tree cover if you don't go on the main road. Maps didn't direct well to the location but it was on the main road. Entry is the third T1 door farthest from the river. Not all elevators went to 35, only front 2. We had a room on 33rd floor. Could see Macau Tower and the Grand Lisboa from the window (no idea why I didn't take a picture). And of course, you can see the train station. Plenty of pillows, one three memory form and some cushion pillows. Was also a sofa. Didi was inexpensive to Chimelong and easy pickup from outside.

Il soggiorno è stato molto piacevole. La camera era spaziosa, confortevole e ben attrezzata con servizi puliti. La posizione è eccellente: a pochi minuti dalla stazione della metropolitana, il che rende gli spostamenti incredibilmente comodi e veloci. L'ambiente circostante è tranquillo e silenzioso; nonostante la vicinanza a uno snodo dei trasporti, non è affatto rumoroso. Il verde è splendido, l'aria è fresca ed è molto rilassante. Very close to the canton tower and 100 m walk to Wanda plaza, room was very clean, with the cleaning lady coming to clean daily, had a mini kitchennette, shower, closet, tv , couch and a comfortable bed. I enjoyed my 5 night stay here, closer to banks, malls and tourist attraction, from the canton tower I wangled from there to my apartment. La mia prima visita all'hotel. Anche se è un po' lontano dalla città, l'ambiente è piacevole e, per me, in un certo senso è tranquillo. Adoro le attività offerte agli ospiti, come la piscina all'aperto, la fattoria degli animali e la spiaggia, ecc. Mi hanno dato un upgrade a una camera al piano superiore con una bella vista, purtroppo la TV non aveva segnale e ci è voluto molto tempo per ripararla, il che mi ha lasciato un'impressione un po' negativa. Dato che considero Marriott un hotel internazionale con un'ottima reputazione, avrei preferito che prestassero attenzione ai dettagli e si assicurassero che tutti i servizi dell'hotel e delle camere funzionassero perfettamente.

UUtente ospiteI booked this hotel despite knowing it’s a bit far from the city center, typically requiring a 45-minute to 1-hour cab ride or a 1.5-hour journey by metro (there are two metro stations nearby). After calculating the cost savings of staying here and using cabs versus staying downtown, I found it worth it. That said, if you’re on a tight schedule, the location might not be ideal. One of the main reasons I chose this place was its newness, spaciousness, and the inclusion of a washing machine, which is essential for longer stays. However, since the property is newly established, many nearby F&B options are still under construction, especially around the hotel area. That said, there are nearby malls like Wanda Mall where you can find food and other necessities. A café and a mini-mart are already operational, and the area might become livelier in a few months. Cleanliness: I have to put it out there that I am particular when it comes to cleanliness. While the hotel is clean overall, there seems to be a lack of consistent training for the housekeeping staff. For instance, despite the initial unclean room being promptly addressed and replaced, I noticed a pile of hair/dust in one spot from Day 4 until the end of our stay—it remained untouched. I do hope that the cleaning staff would take extra precautions and being more thorough during their rounds. Overall, the cleaning staff were friendly and apologetic when reminded, but it would have been better if the cleaning was consistently thorough without needing reminders (almost on a daily basis). Amenities: I appreciated the Bluetooth speaker in the bathroom—it was a nice touch and made my stay more enjoyable. However, I did have an issue with the towels. While they were new and clean, I wished they had better quality. The towel piles would shed and stick to my body and face after use, which was frustrating. I hope this is something the hotel can address in the future. Service : The service has its highs and lows, but I will still give it a 5 as the staffs are friendly and apologetic for the issue caused. For instance, when we initially received an unclean room, the staff promptly moved us to a clean one and offered complimentary breakfast (though we didn’t end up using it). The hotel’s service WeChat was efficient, and staff responded quickly to requests. However, there were a few hiccups. For example, when we requested detergent and later asked for extra water upon delivery, the staff appeared slightly taken aback and commented on why we didn’t request both at the same time. While it might have been a minor misunderstanding, the comment and attitude felt unnecessary. One major inconvenience was the WiFi, which went down twice during our stay—once for an entire day. This was especially frustrating as I was on a work trip and had to rely on roaming, which incurred additional charges. While the staff apologized and reimbursed us, stable WiFi is essential and should be a priority. Overall, this hotel offers good value for money if you don’t mind the distance. I do hope that the hotel will have a better cleaning SOP in future.

UUtente ospiteTo put my comments into context: I initially booked rooms by 'walking off the street” before using Trip.com to book additional nights. The hotel is indeed new and has modern amenities. Firstly, I will explain the low score for ”cleanliness”. The physical cleaning was excellent, but my first room had an overbearing ”chemical” odour. I was given an air- purifier and told to leave that on and to leave the windows open. I was only given another room much later, but I had to ask for a room change. It was not offered. The second room had 2 air-purifiers and the ”chemical odour” was bearable. I was told the odour was because the rooms had not being used for a while and the hotel was new. To me, it smelt of chemical fumes, the sort one has after fumigation, or after carpet cleaning with chemicals. There needs to be more transparency. The fact that there were so may air-purifiers available suggests to me that management was aware of the problem. With regards to the low score for facilities: I tried to use the gym twice. The first time, I didn't understand what the gentleman said because I didn't understand Chinese and he didn't speak English. On the second attempt, I was more insistent and with the aid of translation software, I was told by the lady that I needed to produce a medical certificate because I looked over 60. I had never encountered this before, in any hotel in the world, or in other hotel in China. As for ”service”, the housekeeping and restaurant staff were great- effective, efficient, friendly and helpful. However, the male reception staff had the knack of making me feel ”guilty” for disturbing them each time I had to interact with them. It was not just the lack of a smile or the lack of greetings; it was also in the manner and tone. I do understand that having to use translation software with a foreigner could be wearisome, but, better-trained staff would not make it so obvious, especially for a hotel that uses ”James Joyce” in its branding to make itself more ”International” and ”sophisticated”. Another noteworthy episode that I am still confused about was when I first walked in off the street and enquired about rooms for myself. I was told that it was the weekend of the city marathon and that the only rooms available on the Friday and Saturday were big ”family” rooms (at higher prices). It was only later that I checked Trip.com and found that only the Saturday night was the hotel fully booked. I could have been offered a ”single” room for the Friday night and moved to the family room for the Saturday night. This offer was never presented to me. I hope management will read this, because this hotel has the potential to be a great hotel. It has obviously invested heavily in the facilities, amenities and into creating a unique ”ambience' or ”vibe”. It just needs to invest more time and effort into transparency, and staff-training, to ensure that the needs of the guests are paramount.

This makes finding delicious, affordable local food incredibly convenient any time of the evening. The whole area is very 热闹 (rènào - bustling/energetic) – perfect if you want to be in the heart of the action. Cleanliness: 3/5 – Okay for the Price, Manage Expectations The general cleanliness is acceptable, if you adjust your expectations. It's definitely not a 5-star luxury experience, but for a budget/mid-range stay, it's passable and reasonably maintained. Don't expect immaculate perfection, but the basics are covered. Room & Atmosphere: 2/5 – Persistent Smoke Smell The major downside, especially in the rooms and hallways, is a strong and pervasive smoke smell. It's quite noticeable and doesn't dissipate easily. Unfortunately, this seems to be a common issue in many hotels within the region, but it's definitely present and unpleasant here if you're sensitive to it. Breakfast: 1/5 – Strongly Not Recommended / Unhygienic Avoid the breakfast option. Hygiene standards here are very poor. I personally observed small cockroaches crawling on the tables in the breakfast area. This is completely unacceptable and a major health red flag. Do yourself a favor and skip it entirely. Thankfully, with McDonald's, Luckin, the mall food court, and the fantastic night market opposite, you have plenty of much better (and cleaner) alternatives nearby. Overall: This hotel is all about the location, location, location. If being in a super convenient, vibrant area with easy access to food, coffee, and shopping is your top priority, and you're on a budget, it serves that purpose. The cleanliness is tolerable for the category. However, the strong smoke smell in the rooms and corridors is a significant drawback, and the breakfast is dangerously unhygienic (cockroach sighting confirmed). Choose this hotel for the prime spot if you can tolerate the smoke and definitely plan to eat breakfast elsewhere. Who should stay: Budget-conscious travelers prioritizing an unbeatable, lively location who aren't sensitive to smoke smells and will skip the hotel breakfast. Who should avoid: Families with young children, travelers sensitive to smoke, those prioritizing high cleanliness standards, or anyone planning to eat the hotel breakfast.

La posizione dell'hotel nel centro della montagna offre fantastiche viste sceniche, anche se il trasporto può essere un po' difficile.
