I can’t say enough good things about my stay at this incredible homestay on Dongshan Island—it’s hands down one of the best accommodation experiences I’ve ever had, and I’m already counting down the days until I can come back. From the breathtaking sea views to the thoughtful, attentive service, every single detail made my trip unforgettable, and I’m so glad I chose this homestay for my island getaway. First and foremost, the seaview here is absolutely stunning, beyond anything I could have imagined. The homestay boasts an unbeatable location with unobstructed views of the endless blue sea, and I spent every spare moment just admiring the ocean, both morning and night. Waking up early to watch the soft golden sunrise glisten over the water, with gentle waves lapping against the shore, was the most peaceful way to start each day. As the sun set, the sky painted itself in warm hues of orange and pink, reflecting beautifully on the sea, creating a romantic and serene scene that took my breath away. Even at night, the quiet glow of the moon on the water and the soft sound of waves made the view just as magical. I took countless beautiful photos during my stay, and every snapshot perfectly captures the mesmerizing beauty of this place—no filter could ever do the real scenery justice. What surprised me most is that the homestay is even more beautiful in person than the online photos. When I booked the room online, the pictures looked lovely, but I didn’t expect the actual space to exceed my expectations by such a large margin. The interior is cozy, clean, and tastefully decorated, with large windows that frame the sea like a living painting. Every corner of the homestay is well-maintained, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The layout is designed to maximize the seaview, so no matter where you are—whether it’s the bedroom, the living area, or the small terrace—you can always feast your eyes on the gorgeous ocean scenery. It’s clear that the host put a lot of love and care into creating this wonderful space. The service here is incredibly thoughtful and attentive, which made my stay even more enjoyable. The host and all the staff are friendly, warm, and always ready to help with any needs or questions I had. They were quick to respond to messages, offered useful tips for exploring Dongshan Island, and went out of their way to make sure I had a comfortable and pleasant stay. Nothing was too much trouble for them, and their genuine hospitality made me feel valued and cared for throughout my trip. Unlike many other accommodations where service feels impersonal, this homestay’s service is heartfelt and dedicated, adding an extra layer of warmth to the entire experience. I’ve traveled to many coastal destinations, but this homestay on Dongshan Island stands out as a true gem. The combination of picture-perfect sea views, stunning in-person beauty, and top-notch, thoughtful service is simply unbeatable. I left with so many wonderful memories and a heart full of joy, and I will definitely come back again and stay here on my next visit to Dongshan Island. If I back to Quanzhou, will choose Citywell hotel again. Clean room with warm lighting and spacious room space, located near to the food street, lot of restaurants and massage spot nearby. Hotel smells very good when you walk in and staffs are friendly, shared good travelling tip with travelers, highly recommended.

I enjoyed my stay overall. While the hotel isn’t perfect, it offers great value if you’re looking for a relaxed beach holiday away from the busy tourist areas. Location The hotel is in a peaceful area close to Huangcuo Beach and Xitouxia, with plenty of small local seafood restaurants and traditional Chinese eateries nearby. If you’re not into seafood, there are still a few other dining options within walking distance. It’s about a 30-minute walk to popular cafés like Oncebook Coffee and Snow Peak Café. Further along the beach you’ll also find beach bars such as Breeze Bar and Amoy Beach Bar, where you can enjoy drinks overlooking the ocean. Most of Xiamen’s major attractions, including Shapowei, Zhongshan Road, Gulangyu Ferry Terminal, and MIXC, are around a 20–30 minute taxi ride away, making them easy to reach. Facilities The highlight of the hotel is definitely the swimming pool. It’s clean, relaxing, and has two sun loungers, making it a nice place to unwind after a day of exploring. The hotel doesn’t offer breakfast or have its own restaurant, but there are several places nearby where you can eat. Room The rooms are spacious and nicely designed, with floor-to-ceiling windows that provide beautiful ocean views. The bed is exceptionally comfortable, with soft memory foam pillows, and the air conditioning works very well—something you’ll definitely appreciate during Xiamen’s summer. The bathroom is modern, with a large rainfall shower that has excellent water pressure. There are a few downsides, however. The room could be cleaner, and the hotel provides disposable towels instead of regular bath towels, which wasn’t my favourite. There’s also no minibar or mini fridge, which would have been a welcome addition. Service The reception staff deserve special mention. The gentleman who checked me in was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and went out of his way to make sure I was comfortable throughout my stay. His hospitality left a very positive impression. Final thoughts If you’re looking for a quiet beachside stay with comfortable rooms, beautiful ocean views, and don’t mind taking a taxi to Xiamen’s main attractions, this hotel is a solid choice. Just don’t expect luxury facilities or a full-service resort experience.

Questa è la mia terza visita al monte Wuyi. Nonostante sia fuori stagione, l'esperienza di questo soggiorno non è stata affatto compromessa. All'inizio dell'inverno sul monte Wuyi, di notte faceva già molto freddo, il capo ha acceso premurosamente l'aria condizionata in anticipo e il calore ha scacciato l'aria fredda non appena siamo entrati nella stanza. Quando ho fatto il check-in, ho ricevuto frutta, snack e tè dalla fabbrica di tè del negozio (il tè del capo è ottimo e delizioso👍🏾). La cena è tutta fatta in negozio, per non parlare del gusto, votiamo con le nostre azioni. Infine, voglio elogiare: l'acqua del bagno è molto calda e confortevole e anche la pressione dell'acqua è ottima.

I rarely say this on my reviews, but I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this Minsu. When I come back to Quanzhou for another family holiday, I will book this place again. Firstly, the location: It is unbeatable. It is near enough to be in the midst of the action in Quanzhou (near the walking street, eateries, restaurants, shopping etc etc), yet very quiet for us to enjoy a good night’s rest, or a good conversation at night over tea. Second, the nice balance between an authentic cultural home and modernism. We had the entire Minsu to ourselves, 6 rooms in total. Renovated about 3-4 years ago, the Minsu gave us the experience of living in an authentic Chinese inn, yet the amenities were modern….comfortable beds, modern toilets, refrigerators available etc….The courtyards were also beautiful. The entire Minsu was tastefully done…..plus it was spotlessly clean. Thirdly, the owners. They were so friendly and helpful. They met us at the drop off point, and brought us to the Minsu when we checked in, helping to move some of our luggages (and they did the same thing when we checked out). They went out of their way to help purchase traditional puppet show (木偶) tickets (at a small discount somemore). After we checked out, my son left his hoodie in the room. The owners assisted to courier the jacket to the next city we were heading to (we were already in the train at that time). And lastly, every morning and every night, either Mr Du, his son or his daughter in law would invite us to join them for tea. They would then proceed to serve tea the traditional way, while having a conversation with us. They also taught us certain traditions, protocols and rules when serving tea. They have a cat called TangYuan (汤圆), in which the kids in the family enjoyed playing with. The only thing to note is that public transport (via taxis and buses) only can drop you off at a spot about 5min walk away. Also, they provide disposable towels, not the regular towels given at hotels. If it is an issue, just bring your own towels. Otherwise, this place deserves 5 out of 5 stars.

Ho viaggiato a Xiamen durante il servizio cinese di primavera con il mio cane e ho fatto un viaggio di giorno per Kinmen Island, Taiwan, proprio fuori dalla costa. In realtà, questo hotel era un appartamento con diverse società di gestione che affittano camere su vari piani, e in generale l'edificio era in una terribile situazione di disarmo. Inizialmente, il desk front cercava di mettere me in una stanza sul sesto piano che sembrava una scena da un film di terrore ... Stains on floor, walls, dirt and garbage everywhere .... I asked if this was the same room I booked and another female staff member moved mi sono arrivato al 9° piano, che era almeno pulito e aggiornato, nella sala. La stanza era ok, e il letto è comodo, ma non sono mai stato in un hotel che mette le foglie direttamente sulla mattress senza un minimo pad tra ... Fortunatamente non ci sono bug di letto. La stanza aveva tre delle otto candele di luce che lavoravano, quindi era molto buio. Il riscaldatore non riscaldava la stanza nemmeno al livello massimo che correva tutto il giorno. Tutto era vecchio e disgustoso ... Niente come le foto Il primo giorno non avevo servizio TV o Internet finché non mi sono chiesto di ripararlo. In generale, nessuna manutenzione è il problema.Ma almeno la donna al di fuori del desktop era utile e gentile Quella vera qualità di rimborso della stanza era solo la vista ... Ma la finestra era così sporca, era per lo più oscura.

Un posto tranquillo dove rilassarsi. Interni molto belli, puliti e moderni, e camera dal profumo gradevole. Frutta, bevande e yogurt sono gratuiti in ogni camera. L'interno è spazioso! Ci hanno persino messo a disposizione una lavatrice (dotata di detersivo) in ogni camera, così abbiamo potuto lavare i nostri panni. Anche l'esterno è stato ben progettato. Adoro gli elementi decorativi intorno alle aree comuni, come l'angolo lettura e il tavolino da tè. La colazione è abbastanza buona, anche se è la stessa per entrambi i giorni in cui siamo stati lì. Il direttore ha gentilmente offerto un upgrade a una delle nostre camere, dato che era fuori stagione. Abbiamo scoperto che hanno un'altra filiale a Yun Shi Yao. Forse potremmo prendere in considerazione l'idea di soggiornare lì per due notti diverse per sperimentare luoghi diversi, sperando che abbiano standard simili.

The homestay apartment is located in a fantastic spot overlooking the water. There's plenty of eateries and shopping in the area. Taxis and didi drop off near the entrance. The room was spacious but needed a good clean. Mole and stains were visible everywhere. There's was a strong stale smoke smell in the apartment. Please note this place does not have a reception. You need to call them from the ground floor and they send someone down to collect you. This is common in China, but it's hard if you don't speak Chinese. We arrived from an overnight international flight and although we had WeChat, we struggled to communicate. Through the help of a young Chinese lady, she helped us check in.
