Hotel Stadt Wien

From the moment we arrived at Hotel Stadt Wien I knew we were going to have a great holiday. The hotel is in a perfect location slightly up the hill from the centre of Zell am See. The gardens were beautiful and the pool area ideal for a refreshing dip in the summer. The play areas and petting zoo are a good addition to keep the kids happy too. We had 3 of us staying in a twin room but felt it was spacious and comfortable. My only negative with the room was the separate toilet didn't have a basin to wash your hands. The food was delicious and varied. A huge range of breakfast items to suit all tastes and although marketed as half board you could make up a packed lunch from the breakfast buffet or book a small lunch at the hotel. In the evenings there was a lovely salad buffet followed by different options each day. One night was BBQ, one was celebratory with wonderful traditional Austrian music and dancing, others you picked from a set menu. What really made our stay was the staff. Klaus and Christine lead a brilliant team who are all friendly and helpful (special thanks to George and Marcus). The extra effort put into the daily Stadt Wien news that you get on your table at breakfast with tips on activities etc was definitely appreciated and a lovely touch. I can safely say that none of us wanted to return and one week wasn't long enough. Thank you all.

We have recently returned from another fantastic stay at Hotel Stadt Wien for our annual ski trip. This is our second time visiting, and we can honestly call it our second home (We are already planning our visit for the same week next year). The moment you step foot through the doors of the hotel, the staff are so warm and friendly. Yvonne behind reception is a credit to the hotel and cannot do enough for you. Christine and Klaus are perfectionists in making sure the hotel is ran professionally and work so hard to ensure all guests are happy and are enjoying themselves. The hotel itself is immaculate- the rooms are spacious with the comfiest beds I have ever slept in. After a full day of skiing, we always looked forward to dinner. Every night there was a 5/6 course meal, which was beautifully presented. Portion sizes were perfect. I absolutely loved the fresh salad bar. A huge shout out again to George, who was our amazing waiter for the majority of the week. He always made us feel welcome, providing us with some lovely wine recommendations. He is so enthusiastic and attentive; you can really tell that he loves his job. We even had the pleasure of skiing with him on his day off, providing us with drinks and snacks- Thank you George! In regards to skiing, the hotel is situated below one of the blue runs, which means you can ski directly back to the hotel. The ski bus also stops right outside the hotel across the road, which means you do not have to walk miles for the lifts (roughly a 2 minute bus journey to the CityXpress Gondola). The town of Zell am See itself is a short walk from the hotel. We enjoyed a lovely walk around the lake on our last day and the views were beautiful. Cannot recommend this hotel enough!

This hotel will not disappoint from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave. You will be greeted by the lovey smiley Yvonne, who will help you with anything. George and Daria will serve you in the bar with the friendly hospitality you expect from this hotel. In the morning, lovely Viktoria will serve you eggs any way you want them, and of course, Christine and Klaus are amazing hotel hosts that make your holiday so special. The food is sublime. The spa is something else. An experience you will never forget. The bedrooms/suites are decorated to the highest of quality.
