Bitzaro Palace Hotel - All Inclusive

First time all inclusive and I’m definitely converted. The hotel was lovely, staff were friendly and helpful, food was delicious (as proven by the weight gained!) with plenty of choice at every meal, always a worry as a vegetarian but I wasn’t disappointed. Pool was good, shallow but enough space for a dip to cool off. Location was brilliant, 5 minute walk to the main ***** which is well lit at night unlike some resorts I’ve been to. Plenty of bars to try (can’t say anything about food as we didn’t make it) Kalamaki beach is 5-10 mins away, and you can have a lovely shoreline walk to Laganas if you feel like stretching your legs. If you feel like getting out and about for some shopping reception will organise a taxi into Zakynthos Town (about €15) just don’t go on Saturday afternoon as the shops seemed to shut down and not reopen that day. The one issue, that everyone seems to have, is the availability of sunbeds around the pool. There are enough for everyone except they are scattered in the patio/garden area so if you have children you wouldn’t be able to see them in the pool. As usual there are towels out very early (without bodies attached) and the staff do remove some and leave a note, but unfortunately they fold them up and leave on the table between the beds so it doesn’t really work.

Lovely hotel. Quite quiet and not very big. We are not early risers but we always got a lounger (it was late May). Food was great, we thought it was one of best from all the hotels we’ve stayed in and you can get food pretty much all day. There was no activities during the day and only entertainment 3 times while we were there ( it was early season though) so if you like that kind of holiday this isn’t for you. We loved how quiet it was. A small book shelf for swapping books is in reception. It’s a few minutes walk into Kalamaki which is just a ***** of shops, restaurants and hire shops. About a 5/10 min walk to the beach. The water was warm enough to swim in at the end of May. A boat trip to see the turtles is an absolute must! The hotel was great!!!

Rooms are very clean beds are extremely comfortable, pool is also good. By the bar there isn’t much atmosphere and food isn’t amazing but deserts are good. Great view of planes flying over hotel all the time

Nothing to complain about here. (Apart from the daily sunbed challenge, but no different to any other hotel, and can't blame the establishment or staff for that really.) Lovely small hotel with well kept grounds and gardens. Staff are friendly and efficient, Petra on reception made us feel welcome immediately at check in and was super helpful throughout our stay. The food in the restaurant is a very good standard, enough choice for a small place, always hot and constantly refreshed during mealtimes. Plenty of salads, fresh fruit, cakes and deserts on offer too. Rooms are spacious and clean. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

There were so many positives to this hotel. The food was first class. The staff were lovely. It was so clean. The location brilliant, it’s such a beautiful resort, loads to do around however there were some negatives that has led to me giving 4 stars rather than 5. Water! I have never been to an all inclusive hotel that doesn’t provide bottles of water to their residents! They were charging 1 euro a bottle which is unacceptable in my opinion. Sun beds were an issue but this is very typical, so no bother really. I can say though, Petra on reception is the loveliest lady and so helpful. She gave amazing advice and I would highly recommend the trip from the hotel with Captain Elton around the caves, coves, Turtle island and actually seeing the turtles! Just amazing! The little train from the ***** into Zante town was also a lovely little experience. I would recommend however, the hotel needs to rethink the cost implications of supplying bottles of water. This is not expensive and would not cut their profit margins!

We stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks back in June. Got checked in and paid the tourist tax which was €70 for the 2 weeks. I think the Aircon was free but I'm sure we paid for the safe, but I can't remember how much that was. You could hire beach towels as well at reception €20 and you got that back when you checked out. You could change them every 2 days. Got to our room and was happy with what we got. We were in the last room at the end of the corridor and it was very quiet there. We were overlooking the gardens. The room had a kettle 2 cups n saucers and a mini fridge. The fridge was big enough to store 3 drinks bottles in and a stash of Freddos. There were at least 10 hangers in the wardrobe and plenty of shelf space in there as well. The bathroom was of a decent size it was a shower over the bath. Plenty of room for all the toiletries. There were some free toiletries shampoo conditioner, shower gel and hand lotion. The towels and linen were changed every 2 days. Everywhere in the hotel was spotlessly clean , they were always cleaning something. If I'm honest we weren't sure what to expect with the food as we've never done AI in Greece. Couldn't fault it at all. There were only a couple of nights where there was something I wasn't keen on , but there was soup to start and plenty of salad and then pudding so I never went hungry. Our friend doesn't eat red meat and she always had plenty to choose from. The staff in the restaurant were friendly. George on the bar was really friendly always had time for a chat and after a week knew what drink you wanted. But I'm afraid the guy in the bar upstairs was miserable they need to have words with him. The sunbed situation - we only went round the pool one morning and got a bed other than that we went to the beach, which is a 10 minute walk down the road but in the heat we had while there( 38°c one day) felt like an hour 🙄. Just a couple of things I think they need to do at this hotel. In the terrace upstairs they could do with putting some ceiling fans up as at night there was no air up there. Probably move those bean bags around the pool area at night and put more comfortable seating out so people can sit outside And in your room on the balcony perhaps have a pull out airer on the wall as there was nowhere to hang your wet swimwear other than over the balcony and if the wind got up it would be gone. Would I stay here again- I would but only for a week as we didn't like the resort.
