Hotel in zona Museo Nazionale delle Ferrovie, York

L'hotel superava la nostra aspettativa di sotto la porta voyeurismo. Ho potuto vedere la mia ragazza cambiata guardando sotto la porta della stanza dell'hotel, dalla strada pubblica. Le tende erano molte e bagnate. La stanza era grande. Il letto era comodo. Si diceva che la direzione dell'hotel ci avrebbe guardati al nostro prossimo viaggio, ma non so perché non ci siamo guardati al primo posto. Perché ci sarebbe tornato? 🤷🏽♂️

A parte il controllo in corso che era veloce e il controllo in agente era proattivo, altri servizi erano una delusione, le tovaglie della stanza non sono state adeguatamente sostituite e quando ho chiesto un buco di ghiaccio per un sanguinamento nasale, ho dovuto andare al lobby Mi ha detto il ricevitore che devo andare al lobby, perché il contatore sarebbe stato disarmato nonostante sapesse che ho sanguinato il naso.

The Grand Hotel boasts an excellent location, making it a convenient choice for exploring the city. The facilities are top-notch, offering a blend of luxury and comfort that one would expect from a prestigious establishment. However, the service fell short of expectations, especially considering its five-star rating. While it may be due to the busy tourist season, the level of service provided was inconsistent. In particular, the doormen and porters left a lot to be desired, with some interactions being notably poor. This detracted significantly from the overall experience, as such issues are not expected at a hotel of this caliber. Overall, while the hotel's amenities and location are commendable, the service quality needs improvement to truly match the standards of a five-star hotel.

Lovely little boutique b and b very central, round the corner to York minster. 5 min walk from shambles car park which was easy to use, however we pre booked parking £54 only to get a message from hotel 24hrs later to say you get discount for staying there, why not tell you when booking ?. We stayed in room 12 at the top of the hotel, it was very clean and cosy but noisy from the street from 6.30 in the morning, Toilet seat was loose I nearly ended up on the floor. also because of the beautiful oak beam features I walked around bent over most of the time spent in the room, though a younger person might not have minded. Stairs were very very steep what you would expect from a property like this. On the upside breakfast was fabulous with plenty of choice especially the porridge, staff were friendly and helpful.

Great reception staff. The room was advertised as a ‘cosy double’ but it was a huge bed, huge room and small bathroom. The breakfast had an excellent selection which you could help yourself to. The one downside was that the walls were quite thin so you could hear people in the next room or talking while passing along the corridor.

Absolutamente carino soggiorno davvero buona posizione al mercato di Natale. Il personale era molto amichevole e utile. Camere pulite e molto spazio. Molto tranquillo alla notte. Il colazione era una buona selezione e quanto più si poteva mangiare. Abbiamo tenuto il nostro bagaglio all'hotel dopo aver controllato che era perfetto.

Awful stay, sleep deprived because we had a faulty fire alarm screaming alarms into our ears and the last night and following day were completely ruined for us negating the whole point of a short two day city break. Fire alarm was faulty and repeatedly went off during the night, screeching into your ears starting at 10 pm, if that doesn’t sound like fun to you, avoid, especially as the issue wasn’t fixed when we left. Alarm issues started on Sunday morning but didn't seem to be passed onto staff on Sunday evening and were not dealt with or forwarded. Fire alarm went off on Sunday night at 10pm which should have registered a major issue but rather than deal with it, roomzzz just left it. I rang the member of staff on duty and told him it needed silencing due to him saying it was a faulty sensor and i informed him it had gone off before that day of which he was not aware. He simply wasn't trained to do it or trained in escalation and simply left it, having already disturbed everyone at 10pm on a Sunday night which is ultimately managements fault for not making sure staff understood what to do in emergency situations. Faulty alarm then predictably woke everybody up at 2am which i told the member of staff the first time we didn’t want to be woken up again, then at half 2 and then it went off again a few times when the staff member finally decided to get the manager out of bed, which should have happened when the issue first appeared on Sunday morning or at the very least sorted at 10pm when it went off at 10pm Sunday evening. To top it off it went off again Monday morning at 11am. The Manager was nice but full of the usual excuses which i just were not buying, she said it could have been handled better but it was handled at all, it was amateur at roomzzz York. Its likely still faulty as i type this due to the alarm company clearly not being called out. She said there was not a lot that could be done because it’s the fire alarm which is just…a lie, the zone or faulty sensor should have been isolated on the system. Again lack of knowledge on what to do from management. To top it off we had someone hammering away on Monday morning at 11 am, clearly nobody communicates who is in what rooms. Other than that the stay was standard though not to the quality we had when we visited the Chester roomzzz aparthotel. TV was faulty when we booked in which was a minor inconvenience but nothing compared to having screeching faulty fire alarms shocking you out of bed. Awful experience and we rushed home due to been knackered because my partner couldn’t get back to sleep, rather than enjoying the day out in York.

Lovely hotel . Cannot really say anything negative about about it . I ve stayed in many many hotels over the years with work so I am very welltravelled . The staff are very helpful and friendly . Location is great . Very nice buffet and a La carte breakfast . We had scrambled eggs and smoked salmon this morning and it was cooked to perfection . Parking is £15 a night . I was a little worried about finding a car parking space due to some of the reviews I had read . The area is very small so I am not sure how it will work if the hotel is very busy albeit we did not have a problem. Check in was very smooth and quick without any issues . I will definitely return and would recommend . We stayed for 2 nights .

Country house style and first class attention to detail and service. If you are looking for a hotel in York(10min by taxi to centre), dont look any further.. A traditionally decorated drawing room for drinks before dinner which was excellent too… We stayed in a beautiful room 1 overlooking the main lawn and cedar tree, the bathroom was small but very adequate. Highly recommend..

La posizione è molto alta al di fuori del centro di York e l'accesso è molto facile dalle strade principali. Ci sono parcheggio e servizio di guida circa mezzo chilometro a piedi della strada che è molto raccomandato perché il parcheggio a York può essere difficile e costoso. Parcheggio e tempo di viaggio è di circa dieci minuti e vi gode vicino alla zona Shambles della città. L'alloggio era di base ma pulito. L'alloggio era comodo, il doccia era molto potente e abbondante di asciugamani. La colazione era limitata, ma molto bello e ci metteva in piedi per il giorno. L'unico punto di svolta dell'alloggio era che sarebbe stato bello avere un piccolo frigo nella stanza per tenere acqua, ecc, c'era un sacco di spazio per avere uno. Sarebbe stato bello avere un divano per guardare la TV la sera, perché le sedie non erano confortevoli per sedersi per un po', e le pareti erano molto sottili, mentre altri rumori in camera potevano essere sentiti anche. C'è anche un Toby Inn vicino alla porta che fa davvero bella cibo e diverse alghe.
