距離市中心不近，但門口就是公交車站，還算方便。老闆人比較nice，公共區域打掃的很乾凈。
衞生狀況還可以，比大部分民宿乾淨，但電視後面有蜘蛛網。窗子不隔音，我們睡覺不受影響，但如果怕噪音，最好不要臨街的房間。
最不滿意的是，發現房間是一個semi-ensuite，馬桶不在房間裏，衹有淋浴在房間裏，但預訂的時候沒有任何訊息提示。

We Stay here every year and we love it. Would highly recommend to people . It is a 10 mins walk to the city centre we will return again next year. Always clean and tidy and I like we can check in early at 12 noon. Car park around the back is very handy too

Our stay at Friars rest guest house was great value for money with great facilities in a great location, it’s only a short walk to the centre and on the way is a weatherspoons for breakfast. The room was lovely and clean with tea and coffee available as well as shower gel and hand soap, each day the room is freshened up for you. And the owners were also really lovely and friendly. We will most definitely be returning for another lovely weekend 😊

This is the best guest house we have ever been to. We booked late, but on arrival the room was ready, it was very warm, clean and very comfortable. One of the biggest showers I've seen. The bed was comfortable the tv was a bit hard to work but it was modern and we are old and tech not always our thing. It didn't spoil our stay. If going to York stay here you will not be disappointed

Lovely warm welcome from Steve Nicely decorated room new carpets and enough hangers and drawers for a few days Steep climb up so don’t book No6 if you have trouble with stairs Despite being at the front and on a main road our room was quiet due to triple glazing Early check in at 12 was a welcome bonus and great off road private parking (6 spaces) Book direct and parking free Tea and coffee supplied with good sized mugs Easy 10min walk into city with lots to see and do-Betty’s Shambles Christmas market for us Minster closed due to graduation ceremony’s A few negatives Bed too small and mattress too soft for us so we didn’t sleep well Bedding somewhat tired and towels too small Hot water took a while to get up to shower which was very small and had some black mould Toilet door doesn’t shut Overall though we’d stay again - in a different bed! Steve is a lovely friendly personable host and you can’t beat for location

We arrived at Friar's Rest after a 4 hour journey to be greeted by Steve. He was very friendly and welcoming and immediately directed us to our free parking for the night . . Perfect, safe, off road parking. We then booked in and paid before being shown to our room for 2 nights. It was on the ground floor and was very roomy with a king size bed, dressing table, table and 2 chairs, tea and coffee making facilities, an ensuite shower room. . .everything we needed. Steve gave us directions onto the City centre and it took us 10/15 minutes to walk there along the river. We had a fabulous couple of days exploring York including The Shambles, the Minster, The Railway Museum and Clifford's Tower and would highly recommend staying at Friar's Rest due to it's quality and where it is situated.

Everything you need in one room good quiet location and friendly owner had room 8 so ground floor too room looked cosy and welcoming. Pubs and eateries nearby not too far to walk to centre had glorious weather too
