Really great. Food was really lovely (turkey and pork)…. All the trimmings; Yorkshire, stuffing, carrots, mash, proper roasties, red cabbage… all absolutely gorgeous. Staff were so bubbly and nothing was too much trouble. Great place, fire on, lively atmosphere and lots of happy punters. Great job , well done!

We booked here to have our family funeral wake after party for my sisters funeral. The staff were so lovely and respectful caring. Provided a wonderful buffet great sandwiches and cakes and service. Thank you so much. Love the Ship Inn. Great place

Beautiful building in a stunning location and a favourite stop off for us on race days. Conveniently situated next to a waterway and local walks (judging by all the walkers stopping off for refreshments), close by local camp sites to base your stay whether camping mobile or in a chalet just along the nearby country roads. The Full English breakfast is our choice with plentiful toast juice and hot drinks served by friendly young staff. Great to see it up and running again 😎

This has to be one of the best beaches on the island of Ireland. It's pretty much stone and shell free with little or no seaweed to be seen

We stayed for one night and we wished we stayed longer!! It’s such a lovely, warm and welcoming little pub. The staff are fantastic!! We called to book a room with Vicky - she was so lovely over the phone, the girl who checked us in and served us at the bar whose name we didn’t get - sorry - was warm and welcoming and finally Phill who we met for breakfast - amazing! The food was brilliant!! The room was nice, clean, well kept and in keeping with the theme of the pub. We stayed in The Endeavour suite which was perfect for us, very quiet - we slept very well. We were talking over breakfast before we’d even checked out about how we were already looking forward to coming back! Highly recommend!!

A wake for my aunt was arranged at this venue. The couple were the same that had done the food for my uncle in 2015. Again, we were not disappointed. However, towards the end of a very emotional day, some decided to have dinner. The weather was perfect with loads of patrons outside in the garden. The food was ordered and so we waited. Expected a long wait due to the amount of people that had ordered before us. What we didn't expect was for a group of young people to lie to the name we had given, and stole our food! This nearly cause an altercation, but the hosts dealt with it in a calm, mild and professional manner. Thank you very much. All's well that ends well. Should I go back to York. I will again frequent this wonderful bit of English hospitality in a picturesque part of York. Plus the food was excellent.
