Hotel in zona Oriental Fish Bone Art Museum, Xiamen

I decided to change to this hotel last minute. No regrets with my decision. The hotel is very beautiful and unique. My room is just right close to the beautiful garden with a lot of plants. This is a 4 star hotel as listed in Gulangsu. I am so impressed, and keep repeating to my family about the hotel staff's best service. They help answer quite a lot of questions before our arrival. They helped me book the visit to Ba Gua Lou, I knew I needed to book in advance that's why I had no plan to visit it by right. Special thanks to the butler, 泡芙 and the young guy 小陈, the 5 star service they provided during our stay. 泡芙 fetched us at piano dock. She also helped us take the family pictures and my cheong sam pictures. Honestly she spent a lot of time that day just because of our photo session. The 2nd night was so cold, she helped serve the high tea set to our room instead, that was our first time to have high tea at night time. Hahah. 小陈 is a very polite and meticulous young guy, he suggest me the itinerary of the sight seeing spot. While he talked to me, he never forgot to serve me a cup of drink. That evening me and my girl dressed up in the Chinese costume, my right hand held the long dress and my left hand held two thick winter wears, he saw we stepped in then quickly helped to carry the winter wear. After check out he helped us carry the stuff to the piano dock too. I love this island. I love this hotel, it makes me feel as warm as home. I wish I can back here again. This was an overnight on our way from Hong Kong to Wuyishan. We arrived at the hotel around 9.45pm, having followed Baidu's map to get there. My wife reads Chinese: I wouldn't have been able to navigate my way there in the dark without lots of trial and error, despite the careful directions the hotel sent, as the roads are tricky to find. The person manning the front desk raced down to open the gate to the property and was very helpful in getting us settled. The room was very simple but elegant, with a great shower space. We had some trouble figuring out how to get the air conditioner working, but the front desk came up immediately to help. Only negatives: the room is a bit dimly lit for my taste, and someone had left the bathroom window open which meant we had a visitor in the form of a mosquito. The grounds are lovely, and we wish we had more time to enjoy them. The breakfast space is beautiful, and they provide a set meal (standard in such boutique hotels), plus some sides on the buffet. My personal feeling was that several dishes in the set meal were a bit too salty, but that may be just me. Checkout was very smooth, and the staff offered to pack an afternoon tea for us.

Location is gr8 - close to the center and all the fun and excitements. Room is clean and has high tech features. Staff very helpful and responsive. I gave it a little lower score on the facility because a few parts / sections on the ground of my room are raised (like a step). Initially I hit or tripped several times and bugged the heck out of me - even though there are warning signs on the floor but .......
