OYO Langford Hotel, Brighton & Hove

It was a great stay

It might have been rated a 3star establishment back in it's day, but I strongly suspect since they had their rating they let anything that goes wrong stay wrong. Whilst our room that we stayed in for a week was large and clean, the hairdryer didn't work, curtains were falling down and had stains along with the carpets and couch also being badly stained, The wardrobe doors didn't close, the two single beds pushed together had no headboard and the double sheet on the bed wasn't wide enough to cover the 2 single beds. The beds were comfortable enough though. On the 1st night a window was smashed on the landing stairway. It took them 3 days to clear up the glass on carpeted floor and window sill. I'm not sure what makes a hotel, a hotel, but as I can only think it's 24hour Reception then that's how they get by as there was no kitchen, bar or any other 'facility'. In the 7 night stay they only do housekeeping once (though if we'd have asked for extra I'm sure they would have obliged'. They took away our large bath sheets on that one clean and were replaced with small bath towels. We had hung them up so I thought that was meant to mean we didn't need them replaced. I did ask reception if they could provide any of the large ones but they'd gone to the cleaners. The location is very good, close to seafront and bus routes. The staff we did encounter at Reception were friendly and helpful which is why I still rate it 3 out of 5. The area is very expensive and this was a reasonable price for it's location. having said all the above if I need a place to stay for less than £90 a night I would book again.

When we arrived to the receptionist he was very rude, hardly spoke and just about a smile gave our key told us we was on second floor off we went to our room to be given a key for number 506 when we got into the room there was another front door belonging in the same room with number 508 it was just very strange The Room was disgusting and freezing cold, bathroom was filthy and smelly, sink was filthy and was well out of date the mirror was covered in stains, the toilet hasn’t seen any bleach rotten ! The bedroom had ceiling falling away the skirting board was all breaking away, the heating didn’t turn on went to receptionist to be told the heating didn’t work and was given another sheet ! The double bed had no headboard so there was a massive gap I had to sleep half way down the bed so my pillows didn’t disappear, tv didn’t work I had read before on the description there was a bar so after a little drive and celebrating my daughters birthday I thought we could have a few drinks at the hotel before our night out in the town so I ask the the receptionist where is the bar to be told there is no bar ! False advertising The hotel is very noisy late at night, receptionist/security was on the sofa when we arrived back after our night out yes security haha After having this visit I wouldn’t be recommending or staying at this hotel again

Quite the worst hotel we have stayed in in over 20 years (and that was in Northern Pakistan). The curtain were falling down, the TV didn't work (it was replaced next morning), the bed wasn't made up (we were there for two nights) & the bathroom wasn't clean. We left the towels on the floor - as i nstructed if wanting fresh ones - they were still on the flooor tht evening.

I have never stayed in such an awful hotel in all my life, and I’ve stayed in a few!! It was absolutely awful!! When we arrived the man on reception could not find us in the computer system and my husband had to go round his side of the desk to find us. On the way up to the room, the window on the landing was broken and a piece of cardboard was in place to cover it. The curtains were hanging off the window in the room and the carpet was disgusting, I was afraid to walk around in my bare feet!!! We had no headboard on the bed and the duvet was far too small for the bed, it was like postage stamp!!! When we went to reception the next morning, there was a lady sound asleep on one of the couches in reception!!! No one made our bed, nor cleaned the room. The damp towels were left in the bath or on the floor when we arrived back in the evening, they hadn’t been changed. The place was disgusting, don’t go near it!

Cheap and nasty! Gave them the opportunity to provide a full refund before writing this however they only offered me £11 and 50% off my next stay! Room was dirty, windows do not open so if you are staying in the summer be prepared for a sweat box of a room, the shower was very weak and NO towel was provided. The only plus to this was that they offered me a double room for the same price as a single room as I arrived late. Unacceptable and will not be returning!!

Only reason I booked this hotel was it came with parking(that is a lie- reception gave us directions to public car park - £10 a day ) so no parking at hotel. Very disappointing with hotel- cleanliness and state of rooms very poor. Realise it was low budget hotel but even so cleanliness should be a high priority. Lots of issue with room, dust and dirt all over including tv. bathroom missing both shelf and toilet roll holder - mirrors seen better days. Very noisy at night especially in early hours. 1st room offered had curtains down. Whole hotel is very tired looking and desperately needs some TLC.

This hotel will take your money, and refuse to refund you. Even when the hotel was closed due to lockdown! I am over £600 out of pocket due to this hotel. They are criminals and have done it to so many people. PLEASE DO NOT PAY THEM A PENNY OF YOUR MONEY
