An adequate hotel that served its purpose but very noisy road close by

This hotel needs serious updating. It’s very depressing and not very clean. The bed was not comfortable at all. The bath had rust around the taps and there was black mould in the shower. This hotel chain should be ashamed to charge guests £120 a night to stay here

I can honestly say my family and I had one of the worst nights sleep ever in this hotel. We had a family room and two of the mattresses were so old and uncomfortable they should have been thrown away a long time ago. Running your hands over the beds you could literally feel the springs sticking out. As soon as you lay on the bed it creaked horrendously and the springs dug straight into our backs. The bedding itself was clean but the pillows within had clearly also seen better days and unfortunately we could smell them through the cases. They smelt like old a sweaty mouldy smell. Two of the pillows were so bad my son hid them in the wardrobe to try to get rid of the smell that was making him feel queasy. We ended up cutting short our trip and forfeited a night at the hotel. When I complained at the desk the next morning I was offered another room which to be honest I would not have accepted even if you’d paid me. Totally awful experience and ruined a lovely trip with my children.

The fire alarm activated on Wednesday evening and early Thursday morning (0610). On both occasions I went to the reception to try to get a status update. On both occasions the reception was unmanned but I could see from the public side of the reception desk that the Fire Alarm panel was showing an alarm activation. All fire doors were in the closed position, having been automatically closed once the fire alarm had activated. On both occasions when the manager returned to the reception desk they confirmed that it was a false alarm activated by someone using the shower in one of the rooms. The fire detection system does not appear to be fit for purpose if it falsely activated when someone takes a shower. The manager I spoke with today following the 2nd activation said that they had spoken to a guest and told him to make sure the windows in his room were open if he took a shower. We won’t be staying at this accommodation in the future due to the level of disruption experienced during our stay, together with my concerns over the fire detection system. This is disappointing as the accommodation, although basic, was very clean and reasonably priced.

Basic, but comfortable. Handy to Arundel, and Brooklands was a bit over an hour away. Staff VERY helpful. We extended our stay by one night. Had to change rooms but the new room was ready to move straight in to. After a few nights in older hotels with stairs, just being able to wheel our bags into our room was a bonus. Not keen on having to step over/into a bath rather than a walk in shower. Bit old fashioned. Room was spacious and clean. No noise issues. No A/C, only a fan, could be an issue over summer

Hotel staff very professional and welcoming. The room was a good size and clean. The room was a good size, easy to control heating and windows that opened. Comfortable beds, tea, coffee and biscuits including decaf coffee. Easy quick drive into Arundel.

Overall not great experience. Hotel appeared clean but didn’t feel clean. Linen smelt horrible kind of dusty. Pillows were horrible really unappealing - looked old and tatty. Towels were meant to be white but were sort of dirty white. Breakfast was poor not much for vegetarian or vegan - not hard to find vegan bacon or sausages nowadays. Some bananas and avocados would have been great and coffee was super weak.

Although we had to cut short our stay, due to personnel reasons, we found the Comfort Inn, very good, friendly and helpful staff, we had a good room, and we would use this hotel again, if we were in the area. One thing to note, the beds are very firm.

The staff are friendly and welcoming and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was plentiful but very basic, no choice of eggs, it's just scrambled eggs. No Croissants or pancakes and the toasters take about five minutes to toast the bread. Room smelt of dampness, found just before leaving the net curtains had spots of mould on them. The toilet did flush properly and you don't need to use the cold tap on the shower, as the hot water is not that hot. Next time I visit the South Coast would rather spend a few more pounds and stay somewhere else.
