Wonboyn Cabins

Like many road trips I have been on, I leave everything until the last minute… planning sometimes limits what we can achieve and it’s safe… there is something that I enjoy about the unknown. It was late the prior evening that I located this on my Iphone. I was using the App for AirBnB… the location was very cheap (off season), and as I had never heard of Wonboyn I thought it was a good idea to find out what was there. My daughter had experienced a lack of sleep (her doing- but it’s like Shrek on stimulants- I really believe she could eat a toad when she is like that). When I arrived, not too long before their office closed, we went to the van. The van had an interesting lay out with a small toilet closet next to the master bedroom. You also needed to shower in the block- a small walking distance from the van. I returned to the office to ask if I could upgrade and the lady there was magnificent. YES!- she really was THAT good. She moved us to another room where we had space and a shower. The cabin had the weirdest lay out that I have ever walked into- BUT my daughter loved this place- it was her favourite place to stay on our recent road trip. First impressions are like no other… you step out of your car and lemon-scented gum scent fills the air… it was overwhelming on my senses and utterly delightful. There are kangaroos in the park in the late afternoon grazing. I am not a camper- I don’t like to ‘rough’ things. BUT this place with the basic needs met, is utterly amazing… it’s somewhere I would highly recommend to anyone who does love camping… anyone who likes going bush… or anyone who needs serenity.

We just spent 3 nights here on a family road trip and loved our stay in a cabin. Quiet location amidst thick forest, with a few adventurous activities on offer. We hired a boat for $80 and explored the lake and beach. Our kids enjoyed spending hours in the small on-site swimming pool with other children. The owners have a friendly, patient attitude. We can’t wait to return!
