We booked this B&B to stay at after a long day travelling and were not disappointed. The building cannot entirely hide its age - door frames have strange angles, staircases spread in five different directions, the water pressure is 15th century and more than one floorboard is creaky - but repairs and renovation have been done where it counts: Mattresses were good and comfortable, the bathroom tiles and bathtub are recent and decent. Rooms comprise a microwave and fridge which both worked fine. Everything had obviously been cleaned. Breakfast is a bit basic: You get a basket with cutlery, cups and plates, yoghurt, milk, tea, instant coffee and sugar. You can add stuff from a buffet, eg. fresh fruit, cereal, sweetroll croissants or jam and then take the basket to your room to have your breakfast there the next morning. No fresh bread, but generally the breakfast is ok to get you started. The hosts were very pleasant, welcoming and patient with our tired minds. Not to be confused with the Scotland Lodge Farm next door which is, at the time of this writing, the only location showing up on Google Maps when searching for "Scotland Lodge" - complete with photos of the lodge, not the farm.
