From start to finish, staying at The Cottage was simply wonderful. First of all we wanted to express how lovely, kind, sweet and hospitable Margaret is (our host for the weekend). She made our stay even better and we couldn’t have wished for such a fab stay - thank you Margaret. The Cottage is lucky to have you!!! I was contacted by Margaret earlier in the day, we were meant to arrive to be told the room would be ready before 4pm, which was great. On arrival, we had free parking and was greeted with a warm welcome, and told of local attractions. We were even offered a book with places to visit. I noticed lots of other leaflets on offer too for people to browse. We had the attic room (no 6), which was lovely. I picked it for it’s bath mainly as we were camping for 4 nights and wanted a bit of luxury. I was worried it being the attic room and the only window in the room being high it might feel a little claustrophobic, but it was. It was spacious, cosy and very clean. The room had a cupboard with plenty of hangers in, fan and blanket. A fridge with mini freezer in. Kettle with milk, coffee etc. The bed was incredibly comfortable and we slept like babies. TV in the room which was a nice luxury after camping - although the guide does not work on the controller. Easy to fix though. We were left with breakfast menus which had to be handed in downstairs before 11pm - a big thank you to Margaret for hosting breakfast and to the chef for cooking. The breakfast was faultless! You even had several cereal on offer, fresh fruit, tinned fruit, yoghurt, jams, pastries, fruit juice, hot drinks and more on offer. It was delicious! I booked a x2 night stay at The Cottage as a surprise for my partners 50th and I am so glad I went with here. It’s a beautiful place, near the high street in Windermere with many shops close by including plenty of restaurants to choose from. Thank you again for making our stay so great. We will be back!!!!
