Applegarth Villa Hotel & Restaurant (Adult Only)

Stayed in the Potter Suite, absolute stunning. This while place is just pristine, presented perfectly and the service is incredible..we also ate in the restaurant and I highly recommend, do not miss the opportunity.. my Kashmiri lamb was unbelievable and the braised beef cheek was to die for.. Thank you so much to the family who run the place and how brilliant they are. We will definitely be back.

What a gem! So close to everything and yet so peaceful, not to mention luxurious! Rooms and suites are 5* - cleanliness and style. Each room/suite has its own unique theme and on our third visit it’s hard to choose which is best. We highly recommend staying; the service is personal, friendly and discrete. The food is delicious, the chef deserves his rosettes! If you’re wondering ‘is it worth it’ it’s a resounding yes from us - get booked!

Friendly, outstanding personal service from this family run hotel. Our room was spotlessly clean and comfortable, more importantly exactly how it looks in the pictures. A quiet, relaxing stay with first-rate food too. Ross, the head chef, produces exceptional food. We tried various dishes over our long weekend and they were all delicious. Portion sizes were good too, unusual with such exemplary food. We highly recommend and have already booked our return stay!

Visited Applegarth Villa in Windermere Village and we were greeted by a warm welcome by the family run establishment. The room was exactly as described and pictured. The bed was super comfy with soft pillows. The shower in the bathroom was lovely and powerful. The extra touches were the handmade chocolates awaiting you. Breakfasts were well cooked and just hit the spot whilst looking out to the mountains still covered in snow The dinner in the Apple restaurant was a surprise in a good way. I had the baby squid which was tender and my partner had the kidneys which were succulent. The mains didn't disappoint either, Kashmiri Lamb was beautifully cooked pink and tender. The Ballotine Chicken was delightfully juicy with the creamy saffron potatoes bringing a tasty addition. The Apple bar is well stocked, with a great choice of wine by the glass, the service quick and friendly The visit was well worth it if you are looking for an a weekend get away to a lovely tranquil village and the on site parking takes away all the fuss Well done Applegarth for a wonderful visit

Wow, what a fab find - the accommodation and owners are wonderful, warm and welcoming. Service is faultless and a restaurant that lives up to its billing as one of the best in the Lakes. Rooms are beautifully decorated and equipped and the bar/restaurant areas were warm and relaxing. Will 100% be returning during the year.

This hotel, close to the center of Windermere, is also a short walk from the train station. We arrived for the night just before they closed for the holidays and we were absolutely spoiled. From the beautiful exterior decorated for the holidays, to the historic decor and stained glass within, this hotel exudes luxury and comfort. Our luxury suite was amazing, featuring a huge comfy bed and a jetted tub, which after a day of eventful rail (and bus) travel, was greatly appreciated. Staff went over and above expectations to make our stay memorable. Not to be outdone is the Apple restaurant, which featured a menu of classics and modern twists on the cuisine of the area and the world. Food and drinks were all outstanding and some of the best food we had in our travels across the UK and Ireland. Not to be missed if you're in the area.
