Boutique Hotel 't Klooster

Friendly hosts, great breakfast, nice room and relaxed courtyard with swimming pool. Nearby main road and city center at walking distance, but also several good quality restaurants around the corner. It’s a hotel in Curaçao style. I lived on the island for 4 years and will choose this hotel again next time I’ll come over

This boutique hotel is an amazing getaway in the middle of a beautiful neighborhood. Feels like your home away from home and it’s a wonderful destination for solo travelers. The staff were absolutely amazing, especially Alyssa who works at the front desk. From day 1 they make you feel like family. Rooms are cozy and pretty small but has a romantic rustic charm with an outdoor shower in your own room! A wonderful experience in indeed. Make sure you do rent a car.

We actually went in April of 2021, but I could not find set that date. This was not a great experience. In advance, we'd booked the monastery suite, and paid for it according to it being the best in house. I communicated with the front desk several times in advance, and they mentioned they were excited for our stay. When we arrived, it had been after a very long travel day (over 20 hours). We checked in, and were told that the monastery suite was under construction and unavailable, and we'd be provided the city apartment instead. No offer of recompense was made, and we didn't really have any other options, so we took the room. It was hot and the air conditioning did not work. There was insufficient drinking water in the fridge, and when I accidentally spilled some on the tile floor and wiped it up, the rag was absolutely filthy. The mattresses were just foam wedges. The shower was either freezing cold or scalding hot. I gave this two stars for three reasons: - Other than the lack of communication or compensation for the room, the staff was wonderful. The island was just coming out of lockdown at the time, and their chef came in to drop off some amazing chicken roti for us (a meal was part of our fee we'd paid). - The location was very close to downtown Willemstad. - The room was relatively inexpensive. We left the next day for Baoase, and it was superior in literally every way. It's not fair to compare the two as they are intended to be very different, but I did not feel as if I was told the truth and the facilities were lacking.

We stayed at the Klooster hotel for five nights in March and loved our time there. Our room was basic but well outfitted including a kitchen area with an excellent coffee maker, kettle and fridge. The highlight of this hotel has to be the courtyard/pool area. It is so lush, green and chill and makes for a relaxing holiday hangout. There are loungers and hammocks by the pool; with shade and sun depending on the time of day. I had read that there was sort of a community atmosphere here and that did turn out to be true, although most of the other guests spoke Dutch. The Klooster is just outside the heart of Pietermaai, in easy walking distance of excellent restaurants. Punda is also an easy walk making this an great location. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

We stayed here for 5 lovely days. The ladies on the front desk were very pleasant and helpful. Room was cleaned every day. Breakfast was provided every day, eggs, omelet or Dutch pancakes. Great coffee machine. 40 minute walk to the tourist area. Nice restaurants near the hotel.

Very pleasant stay. Small room but comfortable with space to put clothes and other items away. Lovely courtyard. Rooms faced the courtyard not the street which kept things quiet, comfy hammocks by the small pool. Friendly staff. Convenient to all restaurants bars cafes in Pietermaai.
