Hotel Sonnschein

Stunning transformation! Luxurious spa facilities and outdoor pool with ample options for seating. We stayed in the new apartment which was beautifully designed with high end furniture. Staff were attentive and very helpful. Food was abundant and delicious. Self serving breakfast buffet was fabulous even a fresh fruit and vegetable juice bar!

Stayed as part of a coach trip. The hotel is like a mini resort in itself with all of it's new facilities including an indoor and outdoor pool. There was plenty to do if you didn't fancy going on any of the excursions. It is a short walk to little village where there are cafes, bars shops etc. I was given a lovely big room with an L shaped balcony so able to get the sunshine most of the day. Very unusual for a single person as usually I get a box room with no balcony or views. The bathroom has been mentioned not having a standard shower. I asked for a non slip mat and as the bath was fairly low, did manage to use it without difficulty. I do wish though that not just this hotel but others too, would improve the lighting in the bathroom. It's very dingy. As mentioned you need to take your own tea/coffee etc. I would also recommend taking a favourite mug as the cups are tiny, just a couple of mouthfuls in fact or take one of the restaurant mugs to your room. There is a fridge so milk will stay fresh. As part of a coach tour I understand the need for organisation at meal times. I cannot fault the food. Yes, you have to choose a main course but the salads were varied and plentiful and I thought a good variety of vegetarian choices other than omelettes. I'm not vegetarian but chose it over the meat and fish dishes most nights and was not disappointed. Bar prices were reasonable and the waiter service prompt. My one grouch though is that at meal times we were packed in like sardines. Four long tables back to back, eight to a table, four each side. There was no room to move so we ended up getting up and down like yo-yos to allow other people in an out to get to their seats. I didn't like the disruption whist I was trying to enjoy my meal or chatting to my fellow passengers. The hotel restaurant is very big and not at all full of other guests so I don't know why we were so crammed in. All in all a very enjoyable stay and the best I've known for it's range of facilities.
