"Booked for my daughters hen weekend and everyone really enjoyed their stay. Ian and Nav are fantastic hosts and really made us feel welcome. Lovely views from the garden. The rooms are spacious and beds are comfortable and the breakfast was amazing. My dozy daughter left her driving license and they kindly posted it to her."

"Stayed for one night. Room basic and bathroom floor could have been cleaner. Questionable marks on the toilet seat and lid. Room had all I needed for a night. Bed was comfortable and reception staff were friendly. Had to turn the room temp down to stop the heater coming on during the night as it made really loud noises. Very poor soundproofing from the room above - sounded like someone was running from one end of the room to the other at one point! Breakfast next door was poor. Not refilled quickly and the last bits left under the lamps were stone cold. Eventually got a hot hash brown but absolutely nothing else was remotely warm, let alone hot. Glad I didn’t go for a meal during the evening. The signs about limited staff meaning you had to book (even a mid-week table for one!) put me off. At about £140 for a night, it wasn’t great value for a basic product."

"I arrived on a stormy night in the lake district - on entering the hotel I was met with a warm glow from the log fire and a very warm welcome from the receptionist. As the hotel dining room was about to close, a room was sorted and the kitchen kept open for an evening meal - a delicious melt in the mouth steak was a pleasure after a 6 hour drive from the south of england, washed down with a welcome glass of Shiraz. The bed was very comfortable, the room had a large bath and separate shower cubicle and copious hot water. The decor and fittings were in sympathy with the age and history of the hotel, a pleasant change from the blandness of more modern mass market hotels. The staff were very friendly and it was a pleasure to be assisted without having to use automated impersonal systems. I will not hesitate to stay at the hotel again when I am next in the area."

"My first act on getting home from a wonderful evening at the Georgian House was to write this review, because it is so richly deserved. From the moment we arrived, the attentiveness of the staff was spot on. Warm, professional, and completely in tune with the occasion. The quality of the food was exceptional, every single course delivered with care and precision. I had brought a corporate leadership team with me. It mattered that the evening landed well. And it did. Whitehaven may not be overflowing with fine dining options, but this place would more than hold its own in London or anywhere else. It really is that good. I’m absolutely delighted, and so grateful to everyone who played a part in making it such a superb evening. The feedback from my client has been incredibly positive. Tip top."

"The room was clean to a high standard, lovely firm mattress. Tea and coffee in room. Heating was a radiator which was more than adequate, I did turn it down overnight and was able to open the window for fresh air. Breakfast was generous and I enjoyed the relaxing stay. I was visiting a relative in hospital and this was a few minutes drive."

"Room ok ,usual premier in standard. Reception Staff didn't seem that bothered about interaction with guests. The brewers fayre restaurant was diabolical.waited nearly 1 hour just for our starters. Breakfast on both days was not the usual premier inn standard. Cold bacon and dried up eggs and beans not worth even half the money charged. The best thing about the brewers fayre was the manager Stacy...she was lovely and friendly and a definitely asset to tbe place"

"Arrivai in una notte tempesta nel quartiere del lago - all'entrata dell'hotel mi sono incontrato con un caldo lucido dal fuoco del log e un caldo benvenuto dal receptionista. Quando la sala da pranzo dell'hotel si era chiusa, una stanza era stata ordinata e la cucina era aperta per un pasto serale - una deliziosa fusione nella bocca steccata era un piacere dopo 6 ore spostando dal sud dell'Inghilterra, lavato con un bicchiere di benvenuto di Shiraz. Il letto era molto confortevole, la camera aveva un grande bagno, un cubico separato da doccia e un'acqua calda coperta. La decorazione e gli accessori erano in sintonia con l'età e la storia dell'hotel, un piacevole cambiamento dalla miseria di hotel più moderni di mercato di massa. Il personale era molto amichevole e è stato un piacere essere assistito senza dover utilizzare sistemi automatizzati impersonali. Non esitarò a rimanere in hotel quando sarò la prossima nella zona."

"Siamo rimasti per una notte, pronti a fare il ciclo sulla costa fino alla costa durante il fine settimana, e dal momento in cui siamo arrivati fino al momento in cui siamo usciti, il personale era grande, molto ospite e non c'era nulla di troppo difficile per loro. Mangiavamo nel bar e la cena era bella, grande Cumberland Sausage e Mustard Mash per me. Il colazione era buona, ma serviva piuttosto fredda per me, come se fosse stato seduto intorno per un po'. La struttura è stanca e l'hotel può fare con un lick di pittura, ecc, ma era buono per quello che avevamo bisogno."

"We had such a lovely experience at the Georgian House. I was especially grateful for their kindness in extending my gift voucher while I was going through ongoing cancer treatment, it meant a lot and really took the pressure off. The food was absolutely beautiful, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making it a really special visit. The staff were all so friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Steph, the owner, went above and beyond and even gifted me a bottle of Prosecco, which was such a thoughtful and generous touch. You can really feel the care and attention they put into both their service and their guests. I’d highly recommend and we’ll definitely be returning. Thank you."
