Es ist sehr selten, dass man sich als Gast im eigentlichen Sinne und nicht nur als zahlender Kunde fühlt. Die Zimmer sind schön und sauber. Das Frühstücksbüffet ist sehr üppig und es wird auch - problemlos und gerne - auf Sonderwünsche oder -bedürfnisse eingegangen. So ist es auch möglich, dass man spontan glutenfreie Backwaren bekommen kann. Das Hotel liegt mitten in einer Wohngegend, sodass es sehr ruhig und entspannt ist. Zu empfehlen ist auch das Restaurant mit einer übersichtlichen und zufriedenstellenden Karte. Dabei fällt auf, dass viele Besucher aus der näheren Umgebung zu kommen scheinen. Dies trägt zu einem gewissen Lokalkolorit bei und spricht gleichzeitig für die Küche und das ausgesprochen freundliche Personal.

Stayed 2 nights mid October 2023. Check in went relatively smooth, however overall unfriendly desk attendant/clerk. Following check in, I inquired if the clerk could recommend a local restaurant or two within walking distance. Clerk responded No, nothing is within walking distance. Interestingly Via Yelp, I found a fantastic Italian restaurant (Al Camino), as well as an excellent steakhouse, (Bolero Steakhaus); both within 5-7 minute(s) walk from the Achatz. Very Helpful! Room, just OK. Very minimal amenities. Shower soap dispenser found Empty. Bath towels very thin & worn. Bedding ok. Heat supply absent & basically Froze both nights...Fun. On site Pub uninviting & completely Empty. Limited menu & completely out of Vodka. Had a pint of beer & departed for Al Camino (above). Breakfast restaurant just ok. Ran out of orange juice both mornings. Otherwise, buffet style fried / poached / scrambled eggs, bacon & sausage, meats / cheese, fresh rolls, preserves, yogurts/limited fruit(s). Wellness - JOKE. Felt like a Dungeon within a Penitentiary. Probably best to permanently Close this area. Sauna very small & lacking adequate heat. No Lighting within adjacent sauna / communal shower area. No lockers provided & Restrooms were Filthy. I'd, unquestionably... suggest looking elsewhere. Travel On!

The hotel has nice rooms, is located centrally in Wetzlar and has a very good breakfast. There is also a garage right underneath (costs 10€ a night) and plenty of restaurants in walking distance. The staff at the restaurant are very friendly and take care of their customers very well. However, the rooms do not have an AC and you cannot keep the windows open at night, so unless you like sleeping in 25°C +, I would not recommend staying there during summer. The WiFi is slow and unreliable and the temperature control in the shower seems to be merely a recommendation, since I had to tune it, sometimes for multiple minutes, every time I took a shower. Also, on my first checkin, I got assigned to an already occupied room, which lead to a very embarassing situation and made me afraid that someone else would be assigned to my room and suddenly burst in through the door during my entire stay, which is not something that should happen in a hotel. Yes, it was a human error, but the hotels IT system should prevent such incidents completly and this was the first time I encountered something like this in probably 250+ nights stayed in hotels.

Unfortunately my stay was completely ruined by unbelievably rude, incompetent staff. I recieved the wrong meal from room service. Immediately called down and asked if it could be replaced by what I actually ordered. Initially this seems to be fine. Then someone claiming to be the restaurant manager called and likely said to me ‘its your problem you have the wrong food, not mine’ and I would just have to pay for what I received. And that I would have to pay ‘immediately’. I refused and was told unless I paid immediately I would be asked to leave the hotel (10pm). I still refused and after much discussion I was ‘allowed’ to settle the bill on checkout (which is normal anyway). The rudeness and attitude of this ‘manager’ is hard to comprehend or explain. Anyway after a somewhat stressful and sleepless night, I asked to speak with the manager. He couldn’t be bothered to come to speak with me. He just immediately told the desk agent to not charge for the food. No apology for a ruined dinner/stay. I cancelled my second night and left the hotel in the morning. All I can’t say is that I have fortunately never experienced anything so unbelievable in the past, I I still find it hard to believe the attitude of this restaurant manager. I cannot recommend this hotel less.

Prezzo/performance eccellente. Una camera assolutamente pulita con un pavimento facile da curare, felicemente nessun pavimento da tappeto, grande TV, cassaforte, frigorifero e un super area sanitaria. La colazione è anche grande e buono. Il personale è molto amichevole e utile. Molto consigliabile.

Quand nous avons pris le code de la chambre nous avons posé les valises pour partir manger rapidement nous n avions pas remarqué l etat de la chambre. C est au moment de se coucher on voit plein de trace noir au mur au plafond ( on comprendra plus tard que ce sont des traves d araignees ecrasees). On eteind la lumiere et la ma fille commence a hurler. On allume la lumiere et c est une horreur. Des enormes araignee sont au plafond entrain de courir. Mon mari en ecrase 2, au debut c est marrant. Sauf qu une grosse de 10cm sort du coussin de ma fille. Apres une autre sort du matelas(je pense de sous le lit) mon mari ouvre les rideaux en grand elles sont toutes cachees derriere. De la on voit des toiles d araignees de partout dans la chambre, dans les coins de lachambre dans les lits superposes des enfants…. Pour eux il est impossible de se rendormir en voyant cela. Par la fenetre on voit a l exterieur une miltitide d araignee et un conduit relit notre chambre a ce meme exterieur, un passage royal pour ces dames. Bien sur personne a la reception pour changer de chambre. Nous avons fuit et dormit sur un parking dans la voiture. Vu les toiles d araignees le menage n a pas du etre fait depuis plus d un an!!! Nous n avons jamais vu ca dans un hotel et pourtant nous voyageons beaucoup. C est une honte!!!!
