Towneplace Suites by Marriott Cleveland Westlake

From the outside looking in you'd believe this was a nice place to stay, you know what hey say, "don't judge a book by its cover". Should have read these reviews before booking. I won't repeat all what has already been said about the conditions of this "dated" hotel as it would only be redundant. I do want to point out a few things, your chalk board in the (small) breakfast room said don't forget to fill out your survey. A week later nothing arrived to fill out. Cant find a way to review this place on their site so I am doing it here. we spent 4 days there Thursday to Monday. On the weekend you ran out of coffee, plates, napkins and food for breakfast, both days. Each day we had to go to the counter to get someone to refill things and what did we get when we went up there - ATTITUDE! OMG - really Housekeeping was every other day which meant we'd get housekeeping once on Saturday which was fine. We come back late Saturday to find fresh towels and the garbage emptied. Our bed was not made, the coffee for the coffee maker not refilled and the floor was not vacuumed. Am I expecting too much? The bed and sofa were like a sponges, you sank into it. The sofa also had no pillows to prop yourself up with. Again am I asking too much? and to show you how much "care" this place thinks of its property, take a look at the picture below, a shutter must have fell and it sits outside of our room. Does anyone walk to grounds to see what is going on there?

The hotel is old and in need of an update. The suite is cramped and the bathroom is not close to the bedroom. Bathroom fan runs at about 80 dB. Breakfast is mediocre in a very small area. It is clean, but just worn around the edges and there's definitely some deferred maintenance.

I have worked in hospitality and there is no way I would've put up with how rude the auditor was towards me. I have called every 30-45 minutes about some kids running around and jumping on the floor above. He proceeded to tell me that they lived here and there was nothing that he could do. I asked him if I could go to the floor above and he made a comment about how do I think that that floor would be any better. The snarkiness in his tone was uncanny. As I've said I have, and currently work in hospitality for many years. I do not appreciate his attitude. When I checked in there was a guy named Tony who was very nice. I think that that is the best part of the stay. The hotel is very dirty. When he finally moved my room it looked like it had been lived in. The bed looked like it had been slept in and the shower had marks all over the floor. In the previous room there was hair all over the room. I will never stay here again. As I've said before I work at a hotel all the way from a high end hotel to a motel. I know what a hotel should look like. The hotel smells old and dirty. They are very much due for a renovation. This building needs some major changes from their staff to the rooms and whole building. Hotels need an upgrade every 7-8 years or so and this hotel is like from the 90s or something and hasn't been upgraded since. I want to make everyone aware of all of the crap that is wrong with this hotel from a hotel employee's perspective. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND BOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!

We had two 2-bedroom suites, 2nd floor and 3rd floor. Filthy. Both of them. Hair and dead fleas (this is a pet friendly hotel). Stained sofa and chair. Door was completely off the hinges and gone in the shower area. Just gone! Microwave didn't work. Dust everywhere! I bought Clorox wipes and did my best to clean what I could. I CLEANED 2 HOTEL ROOMS THAT I PAID TO STAY IN! Disgusting. The tub has chipped porcelain, mold growing on the grab bar and the bottom of the shower curtain liner. I will be asking for a refund as soon as I can.

Only stayed one night...very dirty. Hair in my shower that I didn't even use yet, hair all over the bathroom floor,room smelled bad, hallway and elevator carpets dirty with stains and room very outdated.

As a Marriott employee I was extremely disappointed in the state of my suite this past weekend. Although the staff was polite and very helpful, my room was DISGUSTING. Not only was it hard for my son (who has asthma) to breathe due to the stuffiness and bad smell of the room, but the bath tub was dirty (with a brown ring around the bottom), as well as black mold completely covering the shower curtain. I also had to get additional sheets and a blanket due to both being covered with hair and stains. As a result, me and family made the decision to check out early. Again, as a Marriott employee, I expected better from this hotel.

Great welcome by front desk staff especially front desk Manager GINA. Very knowlegable young lady blocked a quiet room for me and helped me find things in the area I needed including healthy food. Not a new prooerty but kept up well and clean fron top top bottome. Managment and Marriott are fortunate to have GINA and her Team ! TY I will return !!!

TownePlace suites Westlake Ohio It's conveniently located from the interstate 90 and it's a good location for the west side of Cleveland IE Westlake, Rocky River, Lakewood, and West Cleveland there are other Marriott's closer to the Airport. As always it's also about expectations. It's an old hotel and if you want something newer it's not the place for you. But it's clean and it has good staff. The money I saved every night I used to go out and dine in some of the great restaurants in the nearby suburbs with my family. I did stay in a suite the room was spacious, clean and comfortable and the bed was fine. It's nice to have a regular kitchen with a regular refrigerator to use. I have stayed here almost every year for about 8 years about a week to ten days at a time. The parking is fine you can arrange it so your car is really near your room and you can have fairly easy access. The hotel is long and thin like a boat so it may take you a little while to walk down to the lobby. Also everyone is under staffed, so I always appreciate the service staff who are working. Sometimes it's hard to remember that there's some real gaps in the amount of experience in the people working. I always try to be kind because I know how hard it is to maintain and keep good staff When I registered I registered directly with the hotel by phone. I find I get better results with the type of room I want. When I arrived I was greeted at the front desk by a young person who I found out was the manager I talked to on the phone. He was so very positive and that did their best to make sure I got the room I wanted.. There are several nearby chain type restaurants that can accommodate a family and some have bars so if you're a single person you can sit and eat. Many have reasonable good tasting take out. Of course the nearby suburbs have lots of really good individually and family-owned restaurants with different types of food. They also have returned to serving a hot breakfast. It was typical fare and was hot and plentiful. They had the usual good stuff where you make your own waffles and have sausage scrambled egg and fresh fruit, juice, muffins, bagels and stuff like that. I have to say I was very pleased that the attention the staff made to making sure breakfast food was hot plentiful. I always tip the breakfast person and housekeeping, it's an old school way of thinking and I hope you will consider adopting it. They have a nice outdoor area with a small outdoor pool which moms can sit at a table and watch their kids. They also have several outdoor tables that the Wi-Fi reaches so people could sit out there with their laptops and do work. The rooms were just fine for a overnight stay, or several days. This is an old hotel. The rooms are dated, rather dingy and not very well maintained. The first room we checked into had no working TV or coffee maker. We requested a room close to the breakfast room or the elevators and got the farthest room from both (possibly because that was the only clean room left.). I'm sure covid has played a role in this, but the hotel needs a lot of work. However, the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating and did everything they could to satisfy us at the end of our stay. The staff definitely cares about their customers and want them to be well taken care of. If you're looking for a room in this area for about $100/night this probably isn't a bad place, but unfortunatelyb (because of the great staff) it is a rather dated property
