Leeuwenbosch Country House - Amakhala Game Reserve

We loved our time at Leeuwenbosch ! We loved the history of the place, the rooms were amazing and the level of service from all of the staff was outstanding ! Our safari guide (Ouboet) was fantastic, and the viewing was exceptional. We spent three days there, which we felt was just about right and overall we had an amazing time.

Good option for a big 5 day safari. It was not possible to see everything in the time and at that time of day but we saw lions and white rhinos as weak as lots of other animals in their natural habitat. As a bonus if you get a chance to have Heine as your guide you will have someone with fantastic knowledge about the animals, their habitat and conservation.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. The food was very tasty and well presented. The game drives informative and varied. The ranger Ouboet was very knowledgable.

Leeuwenbosch feels like your very own African home from home - the staff make you feel like long lost family, the food is comforting, the elegant surroundings are full of charm and interest, the beds large and very comfortable. Beautiful gardens and wildlife right to the door, even the Warthogs are daily visitors, keeping the grass trim. Bill's pub is a must before dinner... Finally, the game drives - Amakhala is a sensational reserve, with a lot of game and run to very high standards. Moreover, their conservation work is inspirational and the standards they set in this regard, along with the work to safeguard and re-wild habitat are second to none.

The fact that we got a coffe on our arrival was good because we were coming from East London. staff were very friendly, the information about Animals was also amazing we really enjoyed.

All inclusive was so nice because you just showed up and enjoyed your time. Saw so many animals up close and the guide was extremely informative. Country House was so homey (I do not like hotels) and the staff was so friendly and accomadating. Can't wait to go back.
