Good option for a big 5 day safari. It was not possible to see everything in the time and at that time of day but we saw lions and white rhinos as weak as lots of other animals in their natural habitat. As a bonus if you get a chance to have Heine as your guide you will have someone with fantastic knowledge about the animals, their habitat and conservation.

This was not just a stay, it was an experience. From the moment we got out of the car to the moment we left, we were treated like royalty and overwhelmed by the place. The food, the staff, the rooms and the drives were incredible and our stay was magical and will stay with us for a lifetime. Myself and my husband were on our honeymoon and cannot pick one fault. We cannot wait to come back. The experience completely exceeded our expectations and we have never been treated so well in any other place we have stayed. If you don’t book here then you’re missing out.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. The food was very tasty and well presented. The game drives informative and varied. The ranger Ouboet was very knowledgable.

Leeuwenbosch feels like your very own African home from home - the staff make you feel like long lost family, the food is comforting, the elegant surroundings are full of charm and interest, the beds large and very comfortable. Beautiful gardens and wildlife right to the door, even the Warthogs are daily visitors, keeping the grass trim. Bill's pub is a must before dinner... Finally, the game drives - Amakhala is a sensational reserve, with a lot of game and run to very high standards. Moreover, their conservation work is inspirational and the standards they set in this regard, along with the work to safeguard and re-wild habitat are second to none.

Our family had a fantastic visit at Leeuwenbosch! We especially enjoyed the skilled guides, great game viewing, beautiful and historic property, terrific meals, and super friendly staff. This lodge is also a wonderful value. We look forward to returning!

The fact that we got a coffe on our arrival was good because we were coming from East London. staff were very friendly, the information about Animals was also amazing we really enjoyed.

All inclusive was so nice because you just showed up and enjoyed your time. Saw so many animals up close and the guide was extremely informative. Country House was so homey (I do not like hotels) and the staff was so friendly and accomadating. Can't wait to go back.

Kerry and all of his he staff of Leeuwenbosch could not have been more warm and welcoming. You felt truly at home with their smiles and open arm hospitality each and every day of my eight night stay. What a beautiful homestead of the Fowlds family and what a pleasure to have this special opportunity to stay at Leeuwenbosch Country House while visiting my niece who is studying and working under Dr. Fowlds as a 4th year Veterinary Medical Student at Texas A&M. The country house reminded me of my grandparents home and the grounds are lush with beautiful plants and vibrant color birds. And I want to be sure the mention the delicious meals in front of the lovely fire place along with the quaint little pub field with a century of tales and history. And my guide/driver for all of my safari game drives was excellent. She was very knowledgeable, an expert at navigating the vehicle for great viewing and fun to share this experience with in Amakhala Game Reserve. The wildlife viewing was excellent, with an amazing diversity of wildlife and a jaw dropping landscape. It was terribly hard to leave this lovely family and staff who made my stay a life long memory. I so hope there will be the opportunity to return.
