Tropik Resort Lombok

Really excellent stay. Report is new, clean and very well located - 2 min drive from a picturesque beach which has surfing, swimming and good restaurants. Staff were unbelievably friendly and helpful, both generally, and also sorting taxis, laundry, mopeds and excursions. This extended to when one of our group fell ill - they sorted an excellent nurse who treated him in the room (IV drip, medication) and ensured that he recovered to enjoy most of the stay. Highly recommended

So I actually came for dinner 3/4 times 😊 I liked how you got a little pre snack before you food arrived… the service was great Adi in particular was supper helpful and gave suggestions and couldn’t help enough to make you feel welcome. There was a band on one occasion which was very professional and it just had a nice vibe there. The bar and games room was also a nice place to chill, I played pool there on my final visit… I hope to come back one day let’s see!

The resort is staffed with very friendly locals who love to give you personal service and assistance. Rooms are clean and better than the photos suggest. The location is near a beach perfect to learn surfing with board hire and trainers readily available. I nice quiet location without too much traffic so scooter riding feels very safe.

Ok, the photos are deceptive, this place is 800m from the beach. We had a free shuttle to make up for it. It’s a brand new development, we were confused as to what the intent is, failed time share, unit development or resort..ie, no reception.. The staff are very aware of this and go out of their way to provide excellent service. I’d stay here before Kuta! The villas are spacious and well appointed, great bang for the buck! Well suited for couples travelling together. There is their beach club to the left as you get to the beach, dodge it by going right to the resort and enjoy the sunset. BTW, the cows on the beach don’t appear daily, we couldn’t find out when they do show.

I liked all the staff. They all did their best to give us a good time in Lombok. I felt like being a family member rather than a guest. With some of them we had continuous contact. Special thanks goes to Faiza, smart and very much caring for our little daughter. The same goes for Sahrul. Ojik who we had plenty of conversations with. And Fajrul, a decent and honest guy. Fernando a Spanish guy who was eager to take care of the guest, I really appreciated that though that was not his job. The breakfast was great. You could select between 4 options. I recommend the continental or cereal option, the banana porridge was my favourite. The pastries were really great, soft and yummy. The fruits were also great. Still there are also some improvement opportunities such as the selection of fruit, e.g. it would be great to have mango from time to time. I mean mango is growing everywhere. Chocolate cream for breakfast would also be fine. The pizza was great. Same goes for the cappuccino (available for extra charge). The beach is nearby. You can walk approximately 10 minutes or the hotel will drive you there and will pick you up. The communication is managed by Whatsapp. So ensure that you buy an Indonesian sim card to have online connection. You can buy one for 5 dollar and have plenty of gigabytes. I bought mine in Jakarta. I liked the lobby. Warm elements, lots of wood. It was a pleasure to have breakfast there and to dine. Prices for the dinner are reasonable. Mosque is nearby also 5 minutes walk by foot.  Also some restaurants. I recommend going to Warung Corner. Clean and delicious food and the owner is a really nice guy. The staff really did everything to fulfill our wishes. Our first villa was ok but I saw that another villa was available after one week and I asked if we could move there. Villa Joey. We moved there. And the villa was really superb. Very comfortable nice pool and the shower amazing, the bed comfortable and with nice looks. They also organized a takeaway lunch box for us because we had to depart to the airport very early. Our first villa (Laura) was ok but already feeling a little bit old and compared to the second one no competition. Still, I liked the green plants in the shower room.  The towels were kind of clean but had many stains which I guess the staff was not able to wash them out completely. This was disturbing. The first villa had many insects. The second not so much. The water in the pool of the first villa was not as clear as the second one. The big pool in the lobby was kind of dirty, with dead  insects and greenery as well as leaves. The next aspect is nothing which tropik is responsible for but I still would like to mention that.  Keep in mind that in other beaches (not the one nearby Tropik Selong Belanak) some random guys don't let you through unless you pay 10.000 IDR. This is not a big amount, still it is annoying and spoils the great atmosphere in Lombok. All in all Tropik is a very decent place to be. W

For my third time in Lombok I had decided to try a new resort. I casually found Tropik Lombok and I consider myself very lucky! Let me start with the service, flawless! Polite and efficient all along, loved it so much I can name all of the people who took care of us. Very rare. Now, we (group of 5) booked the 3-bedroom villa, so big! Bigger than of pictures! Got the chance to meet the man behind all this, Michael. Such a lovely person. The way he got across his constant efforts to help the area and its people grow was impressive. Guess what? We did decide to extend our stay (+ 1 night, our overall Indonesian trip being 12 days only). This is how good the place is. Thanks guys!
