Mame Trees

If you need a lot to feel comfortable, maybe this place isn’t for you. We found it exactly what we needed, Peaceful, staff was very kind and helpful, Owner was attentive when needed and perfect location. The Islanders are so kind and welcoming no stress, perfect for diving, perfect for lounging. Every meal we had on the island was excellent. Stay here if you’re cool, if not, stay somewhere else-West Bay at the commercialized hotels.

Great little place for the independent traveler, tucked away just off the main ***** in the center of West End. We have been to enough of the AIs and every star hotel, and know what matters- cleanliness, location, and safety. This hits all three. Adam, the owner, lives on the property with his family. Communication was great and he was quick to respond to any questions or resolve any issues. Perfect location- peaceful, close to shops/bars/restaurants/dive shops, and the beach is right across the street. No need to rent a car, taxis and water taxis are only a few steps away. We coordinated with Adam for airport pickup and the driver stopped at Eldon’s in Coxen Hole to stock up on groceries to do breakfast and lunches at the room before/after diving and it worked out great. Spent a lot of time on the balcony of the Moroccan suite watching the sunsets before heading out for dinner. Didn’t have one bad meal on the island. Can’t wait to come back and relax here.

The property is beautiful but they are lacking in service area, once you check in and owner collects money you are on your own for remainder of trip. First thing is be prepared to bring everything you might need including even a bar of soap, the room has no toiletries at all, even the potable water is extra at 3.00, no soap, no paper towels, and only 1 roll of toilet paper so hopefully you won’t need any more cause you can’t find anyone to give you an extra roll so you’ll wind up having to go to grocery store, which you’ll probably have to go to at least once just to get at least get soap for a shower Also door lock to room was broken so we had to barricade our door every night with table and chairs.

Mame Trees is an excellent value for the price but you better be in good physical condition to stay here. You enter the property from the main street in West End. The location is great. However, you will have to walk up a pretty steep hill with stairs to get to the rooms. Its fine for most people and it was fine for us, but if you have any issues with mobility, this is a no go! Our room was a "Comfort Bungalow with Multiple Beds". It was actually a very large, 2-bedroom apartment. One bedroom had a queen bed and the other had 2 twin beds. The entire apartment was spacious and very nice. It had an enormous front parch. The bathroom looked newly remodeled. It had a huge shower. Everything was in good working order. The location on West End is great. Its very centrally located right across the street from Half Moon Bay. Everything is in walking distance. If you have a car, there is parking available. This eliminates the need for the steep climb up the stairs if that's an issue for you. Overall, I really enjoyed our stay at the Mame Trees. Nice place! Nice People! Beautiful grounds! We enjoyed watching the hummingbirds from our balcony every morning. I would definitely stay again!
