Sommerville Resorts

My husband wanted to take me away for Valentine's weekend. And of course we both agreed on staying at the Sommerville. This would be our second time and we ❤️ it here. We now refer to it as our home away from home. I mean, we even call the Entrepreneur "Aunt Joyce". You can't leave there without feeling like you're leaving family. Rooms: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Location: 5/5 Rooms The rooms are big with big bathrooms and big comfy beds, make you feel like you're at home. Nice rainfall shower heads with hot water. And talk about clean and pristine, you could eat off the floors. No lie! Safety The Sommerville is gated. But there is an armed guard on duty at nights. My husband and I surely slept peacefully 😌 😴 Walkability You can walk less than 5 minutes down the road to Rick's Cafe. Or if you don't drive you can grab a cab and go 7 minutes up the road to Margaritaville and lounge on the beach. Walk the ***** and sightsee. Trust me there's loads of fun to be had. Food and drinks OMG! They serve a full course breakfast each morning. I'm talking ackee/saltfish with boiled provisions and or fried dumplings, steam callaloo and so on. Fresh fruit and fresh juices, coffee or tea. Honestly folks, the food is awesome 👌. By the way I should add, this is not an all inclusive resort, but if you prefer to not go out, they will make accommodations for you to have dinner on the premises. Big ups to the new chef. Your presentation and taste is up there. Noteworthy details I think it's noteworthy to restate, this is not all inclusive resort but they have nothing on the Sommerville in negril Jamaica. I must say this resort is an amazing stay. And the owner is an Angel. The room that I stayed was cozy, clean and the breeze coming thru was so refreshing. Every morning, the chef on site prepared the best authentic Jamaican breakfast. Must STAY

Unforgettable stay in Negril The property is conveniently located close to many of the points of interests in Negril, like Rick`s Cafe. The rooms are in a beautiful historic house, are spacious, comfortable, very clean and stylish. What makes this place outstanding and wonderful is the host, Joyce who showered us with her hospitality, warmth, conversations, delicious breakfast, numerous tips/recommendations and a goodbye hug. Unforgettable stay and priceless value

Joyce and her staff came all the way out to host me after hurricane Beryl forced a last minute change of plans. Looking for a quiet spot away from larger resorts the Sommerville hit the mark. Nestled neatly between several local hotspots that you can safely walk to, I was able to strike an easy balance between entertainment and peace. The property and the rooms are immaculate, gated, and secured with an overnight guard. As a solo visitor I found this extremely comforting. The staff is gracious and welcoming, the food is delicious (American style dishes are also available) and never once did I feel like a stranger. Follow the resorts recommendations for airport transfers and other transportation. The hot water is there. Give it a minute. This is an island that needs to conserve resources, otherwise it's still a nice temperature, especially after arriving from the airport. From start to finish I was at home in this resort every minute. I knew I was as going to the right place when I explained my dashed plans to Joyce. She kicked right into gear and summoned her resources to help me salvage my trip. I am forever grateful. A great place overall to be alone or establish roots and create a real family connection, or to do both, as I did. Aunty Joyce and her delightful staff made me feel more like a branch of the family tree that had come to visit.

My 3 children and I arrived at the Somerville to find a boutique luxury resort with all of the amenities to make us feel right at home. Our private transportation was arranged by the resort (for fee) to comfortably transport us from Montego Bay to Negril. We were greeted with refreshing rum punches and lemonade. Check-in was smooth, prompt and professional. We were escorted to our suites to find 5 star accommodations. The Somerville matches any brand name 5 star resort in the quality of the rooms, property and exceptional hospitality. Each room had a beach theme, was meticulously clean and offered a refreshing environment for relaxation. Each suite had sitting area and table, as well as a modern bathroom. Outside there is a private sitting area for each suite. I enjoyed the quiet sounds of nature each morning. It was clear that we had found a hidden jewel in Negril's West End. The Sommerville is within 10 minutes or less walking distance to Negril's famous Rick's Cafe. We went twice to enjoy the music, entertainment and perfect sunsets. The resort rate included a full breakfast each morning, including eggs, bacon/sausage, pancakes or the traditional Jamaican ackee and saltfish. We went to the Negril 7 Mile Beach daily (10 min away) at Margueritaville and returned to our resort retreat, stopping daily at the bakery for fresh patties. We found dinner options within walking distance, Ivan’s Restaurant for cliffside dining. Without hesitation, the Somerville is a rare find!

This is one of the most incredible places I'v ever been to. I really did not know what to expect initially when i booked but the amazing communication put my mind at ease. i can tell right away it was gonna be an awesome getaway. The rooms are so clean, spacious and peaceful and the resort is so conviently located, surrounded by great eataries And within close distance to the beach. Everyone here is some of the most incredible human beings i've ever met in my life. Kind, genuine, patient, nuturing and protective Mrs Joycee ( the owner )is the best! Mr. Baker, Lisa, Andrew, Orville, and Damali all sooo amazing. i can't wait to come back until that time i carry them all in my heart. Please book your stay here, you won't be disappointed💖
