Premier Inn Hartlepool Marina

We love this hotel and have been regular visitors for over 15 years. The location is perfect for when we visit family and Hartlepool Marina is a lovely setting. Front of house staff are exceptional: polite, friendly and professional. We even found a lovely treat and card in our room when we arrived welcoming us back. Amazing. This should have been our second night staying at the hotel; instead, we are at home. Why? We could not face another night in a sweltering room. The room temperature registered 26 degrees at 5 am despite having the fan on all night. No mean feat when it had only been 21 degrees during the day and the cool breeze off the Marina was refreshing when we were outside. We kept the window open and the curtains closed throughout the day as suggested. We KNOW that the hotel does not have air con but this was awful. This, coupled with the lack of extraction in the bathroom which meant that even cool showers created massive amounts of steam and humidity, made our stay an uphill struggle. There is only so much that the dedicated team at the Marina can do to make stays pleasant and memorable; the CEOs need to do their part and invest in air con and adequate extraction in the bathrooms. I absolutely WOULD pay more to be comfortable. We will return but only in the Autumn and Winter. A hotel with aircon will get our business throughout the summer months. Such a shame.

Lovely location, marine views from all rooms - as far as I could tell. Very helpful staff, and available at all times. It was noticeable that the front desk was always staffed. In most chain hotels the staff disappear to the back office when the busy morning and evening peak times are over, but here they were always visible. Only drawback is the distance from the rest of Hartlepool. No problem if you have a car but a lot of walking if you don't have one - like me. But a big plus point is the bar/restaurant next door. Sitting outside on a warm evening with a couple of pints watching the seagulls trying to nick some food and the local youth jumping into the dock was a treat.

Disgusting cost cutting by premier inn. Rooms are not cleaned on a daily basis. Stayed 3 nights. Had to ask reception to get room cleaned on 2nd night. Bedsheet, pillowcases and duvet cover not changed. They charge 5 star prices but services and facilities are less than 1 star. Avoid premier inn at all cost.

When I arrived the receptionist Erika. She is wonderful I could have asked for a better host she is kind and caring and answered questions I had. To my satisfaction she is a credit and an asset to the company Well done Erika …………………………………………..

The hotel is in a great location with views of the Marina or harbour.It is a fairly short walk to the railway station and the edge of the town centre.Alternatively it is a shorter walk to the seafront with a pleasant walk along the Bay as far as Seaton Carew. The hotel is clean if a little dated with no lift to the first floor.However the rooms are comfortable and well maintained.Breakfast ,as usual,plenty of choice in large space with views of the harbour.The only real problem,and this has happened to me twice now ,is a parking fine for 100 pounds coming through my letterbox a few weeks later .There is obviously a problem with the free parking arrangement with a company called parkmaven which has not been resolved.After ringing the hotel reception and finally getting through it is resolved but an unnecessary annoyance after a pleasant trip.

We had the most amazing time, reception staff went above and beyond in every possible way, and the restaurant team were equally fantastic. We were enjoying ourselves so much that we even extended our stay by three extra nights. Unfortunately, our experience was overshadowed at the end. Upon returning home, we realised my son had left his Beats headset in the room. These were a special Christmas gift, they were left on the bed, as he had been asleep with them on. He woke up late and had to rush off, so it’s clear they were forgotten in the rush. I also later realised I had left behind a pair of designer glasses. I called reception, and the receptionist was lovely and apologetic, but she mentioned that nothing had been handed in. I genuinely believe this was the case . Therefore, the only culprit is the cleaner. Despite this unfortunate situation, I would absolutely return because I wouldn’t want this to overshadow what was otherwise such a lovely experience in a beautiful place. However, I feel it's important to raise this issue as a note for future guests, it's crucial to double-check and make sure nothing is left behind, as this situation has left a bit of a sour note on an otherwise excellent stay. The hard work and dedication of the staff to make our time enjoyable deserves to be highlighted, and I wouldn't want this issue to tarnish the hotel's overall reputation.
