Corinna Wilderness Village

My husband and I really loved our stay at Corinna. The place is immersed in nature, and the cabins retain their original charm whilst providing everything needed for a comfortable stay. Despite the cold and rain, our cabin was warm and cozy, the bed was comfortable and the shower nice and hot. As it is low season, the restaurant was closed but the ready meals we purchased there were great.

It was very disappointing to find that our Pieman River cruise was not on the Arcadia but rather a noisy outboard vessel. I understand that vessels require maintenance and can suffer breakdowns, however, I paid for the Arcadia experience (I’m a wooden boat enthusiast) and would expect the management would contact me as soon as they knew that the Arcadia wasn’t going to be available. I would have deferred my trip. It was a long way to travel to not get what we paid for.

what a privilege to be able to stay at this place The Temperate rainforest of the Tarkine was at its best. The weather was mostly kind to us. Dinner at the hotel restaurant while not outstanding was veery good and we didn't have to cook!! The additional cost of the Pieman River cruise was absolutely worth it the Sea eagles or Wedge tail eagle (not sure which ) soared overhead and the captain provided great information about the landscape, flora and riverscape We were also able to see the huge eagle nest at the top of the tree canopy. It snowed as we drove across the mountains giving us a Winter Wonderland experience, The cabin was well fitted out , warm and comfortable We couldn't recommend this experience highly enough

The town was close to deserted in the middle of August - a perfect enhancement to the mid winter wilderness experience. Comfortable, clean and spacious cabin for 2. Great heating thankfully given the near zero temperatures at night. Kitchen is adequate for basic self catering - the tavern was closed for August. Pieman river cruise was excellent - Norm is a careful and informative captain, and has a vast knowledge of local history. Lorraine was also great as deck hand and catering boss. Great local walks. Pieman river was too full for barge on the morning of our departure so we went north via Savage River. Staff (Pete?) escorted us with a chain saw to manage the fallen trees from the previous night's storms - and the help was both needed and appreciated. The road is in great condition otherwise for 2WD vehicles. Matt and the team were great hosts. Don't miss this chance to see one of the world's last undisturbed wilderness areas.

I stayed here for 3 nights as part of an organised hiking trip. My cabin was spacious, clean with a very comfortable bed and nice kitchen area. The bathroom was fine, but try to take your shower when others are not as the hot water may run out. Drink only water from the rainwater tank. The staff are great, the restaurant has very good meals and a good selection of beers to choose from. Doing a day trip on the Arcadia is highly recommended, as is the kayaking which is very reasonable at $20 per person. There are some very nice hikes too.

Friendly welcome with early check in didn’t have to wait long for the barge. Warm, comfortable and clean eco cabin. Did the Pieman Heads tour and Little Lovers falls. Walked the Whyte River track. Great way to relax and unwind. Awesome selection of Tassie beers and wines.

Cottage was very comfortable & contained everything we required to cook our meals. Beds we’re comfy, the gas heater kept us very warm. Enjoyed walks in the beautiful wilderness. Though not on the Arcadia the boat trip on the Pieman on a misty morning was quite spectacular & provided perfect photographic opportunities. And we saw 2 sea eagles….what a treat. A very worthwhile experience.

We come from the Western Explorer Track (in good condition). We stayed on Possum caravan site for a few nights and it was lovely. Backs onto a small creek and the forest, the river is a stone's throw across the roadway and is stunning. It was a big site and has a raised wooden platform. We rely on solar and we were able to move our portable solar panels around to get enough sun. The wildlife was amazing, beautiful little blue tailed wrens? during the day as well as hearing kookaburras; afternoon shift with pademelons (who aren't shy) and they are joined by giant possums who definitely aren't shy and even nibble on your shoes as you are trying to cook .. fantastic. The walks are beautiful and there is a variety of distances. It was nice to stroll around the village as well and check out some of the old buildings. The hotel is very welcoming (and warm) and we enjoyed a nice drink before heading back to our slightly colder caravan. Amenities are clean with nice, hot showers that actually have enough room to keep your clothes dry. Showers are $2.00 for 3 minutes. We were lucky, by only 10cm, to get the Barge across the river; that was very cool.

Nice place, good walks. Definitely NOT Ev. friendly. Got reprimanded for pluggin in despite arriving with 10% charge after a long day. No mention of not being allowed to charge an Ev. on the website. Would think this is not too much to ask. A tad more rustic than in the photos.
