Hotel in zona Rainbow Shops, Waverly

Stayed in April 2024 and May 2024 with help from Gail and other front counter staff. This location was handy for us to visit with family, the room was clean, tidy and sanitized very well. The housekeeping staff and maintenance were handy when a couple of small things were needed (new towels, tightening of swimming pool ladder and fixing stuck quarters in the guest laundry dryer). They were fast and efficient to meet anything that was needed. Right across the street is a store called ”Horrocks” that has everything you might need in the way of food, entertainment and sweets. Restaurants like Cheddars, Texas Roadhouse, The Tangy Crab and many more including fast food are very handy. Easy access to the highways from this hotel and fuel stations, stores for shopping and banks are within a mile or more too! Gail is amazing and the other front counter staff are very helpful. There is small indoor store in the hotel but Horrocks is the place to go for other items. Access to downtown Lansing and other local attractions makes this a great place to stay. Don't overlook this location because it is great for business people, groups and families. The hot tub and pool are good amenities along with the fitness room.

Spending the weekend in Lansing. Had a very good stay. Especially enjoyed the breakfast. Room and facility was clean. Bed was very comfortable. Liked the location. Didn't use the pool but others were enjoying it

We stayed overnight in April 2022 for family business. I booked directly through the IHG Holiday Inn website, and looked at the East Lansing site directly. There was no mention of renovations or anything out of the ordinary. When we arrived, there was no desk attendant, just a ”ring bell” sign with a bell marked, ”not today”...what a welcome. The desk attendant did arrive in short order though, and he was helpful for the simple requests we needed help with. I had booked a 2 queen bed room, but we soon learned that they were both full beds, NOT queens. Our 4 year old and 3 year old normal-sized children filled one bed. They were NOT QUEENS. Also, this location is under construction. There is no breakfast, just ”to go” bags in the breakfast area. It looks like the breakfast area was just shut down one day after hot service and left. There was a warm mixture of various juices in the bottom on the juice machine, cereal in mislabeled multi-serve containers left out without milk, and cases of shelf stable juice cups and cans to go with the to go bags. Coffee was not fresh, and it had run out by 8 am. The to go bags were each filled with a random fruit or applesauce, and a nutrigrain bar or some other carb. Overall, it was disgusting. The room was ok, aside from bed sizes being wrong. There was no kleenex, and there were screw holes in the door where it appeared that the lock chain had been removed for some sort of L-shaped replacement bracket. Upon checkout, we asked the desk attendant for some sort of discount for not knowing about the non-existent breakfast and wrong bed sizes, but we were just given a business card with a manager to call some other day. Wait to book here until they get their renovations finished and their rooms properly advertised.

Hotel is fine - clean, rooms are well appointed, large bathroom, typical Springhill Suites. Checkin was easy and front desk staff friendly. However the windows do not keep out any noise. I can hear someone coughing in the parking lot as I write this on the 4th floor. My daughter who can sleep through anything was unable to sleep here - a problem we’ve never had even in large cities. The HVAC system does not offer a constant fan setting for white noise. There’s general noise … cars, horns, car alarms Train tracks are nearby and the trains whistles each time they pass. I’m not sure how many times it came in the night but I know there was one around 11, two between 3 and 4 AM and some others. Somewhere in the night, the trash was picked up. Dumpsters banging, truck making the backup beeping sound. I assume it was picking up surrounding businesses as well because it went on for a long time. It’s possible that rooms on the back of the hotel may be quieter, I’m overlooking the parking lot. And I assume trash doesn’t get picked up every night so that won’t impact everyone,

A very nice Holiday Inn Express property. The hotel overall is quite brand new - I think it opened in 2017, and it is located in a nice area of the Lansing Metro area. Easy access off the interstate freeway, and the surroundings near this hotel are great. Plenty of food options and other stores nearby. Michigan State University is also not too far of a drive away for those staying here for such purposes. Very friendly staff and clean, modern, spacious rooms. Be aware though that sound travels very well in this hotel - so be mindful of any noise you might make in your room. I did have some noisy neighbours nearby while here and I could hear a lot of what they were saying and doing. This is not the hotel's fault in any way though - that kind of stuff can happen anywhere. I'd happily stay here again. My stay here was very comfortable.

Used this location for the hotel for a conference I organized at MSU. This was the second year using this hotel location. Staff was very willing to setup the arrangement to block out rooms and at a rate lower than in 2023. Nice rooms, good breakfast and free wifi. Hotel is easy freeway access and close to many restaurants and MSU Campus
