Safari Plains

My stay at Safari Plains has been memorable - the lovely private tents with great facilities, the wonderful food and friendly staff and the pool area near a watering hole where we were lucky enough to experience a herd of buffalo coming to drink. The outstanding aspect of the holiday were the twice daily safaris. Our guide, Sanesh, was so likeable, enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable about all the animals and birds. His enthusiasm was infectious and we thoroughly enjoyed our trips out in the Land Cruiser and looked forward to the next one. Sanesh was determined that our group would see all the wonders that Mabula had to offer and we saw all the animals we had hoped to see plus many more. It was with great sadness that our stay came to an end and I hope one day to return to this wonderful place.

This is a wonderfull place with friendly, hospitable staff providing meticulous service. The tents are very luxurious and the game drives with the excellent Sanesh are exciting, intetesting, informative amd fun. Nothing is too much trouble. The surprise treats laid on are a delight.

The reception was wonderful. and the accommodation in the tents was beautiful. The food was good but an improvement could be made about the food not being warm enough. Game drives were quite predictable but still enjoyable.

We recently had the pleasure of a stay at Safari Plains lodge that exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome and well taken care of. They were not only attentive and friendly but also exceptionally professional and personable, ensuring every detail of our stay was perfect. One standout moment was when we unfortunately lost our luggage upon arrival. The staff immediately stepped in to assist, offering helpful advice and ensuring our needs were met until our belongings were safely returned. This level of care made us feel reassured and supported throughout our stay. Safety was a top priority, and we appreciated the extra precautions the resort took, which allowed us to relax and enjoy our surroundings without worry. The dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. Every meal and drink went above and beyond our expectations, both in taste and presentation. Each dish and dessert was beautifully crafted, and even the smallest details were meticulously attended to. Whether it was breakfast, lunch, or the evening receptions, the presentation was simply stunning. Our guide, Mpho, truly made our wildlife experiences unforgettable. His passion and knowledge were palpable, and he eagerly shared insights about the animals and their habitats. Mpho's setup of morning coffees and "sundowners" was breathtakingly beautiful, adding an extra layer of magic to our safari experiences. His ability to find clues to the animals' whereabouts, from tracks to scents, was impressive and greatly enriched our safari adventures. The accommodations were spacious, well-maintained, and incredibly inviting. From the moment we stepped into our room, we were greeted with a sense of comfort and luxury that set the tone for our entire stay. The rooms were impeccably clean, with attention paid to every detail to ensure a relaxing environment. The views from our porch were breathtaking, especially during the mesmerizing sunrises that painted the sky with vibrant hues. It was a true privilege to witness giraffes roaming nearby, adding a touch of wildlife wonder to our mornings and evenings. One delightful surprise each evening was returning to our room to find new and creative animals made from towels, showcasing the lodge's playful attention to detail and commitment to guest delight. It was a charming touch that added to the overall charm and warmth of the lodge. The combination of comfortable accommodations, stunning natural surroundings, and thoughtful touches made our stay at Safari Plains lodge truly memorable. It's a place where luxury meets nature seamlessly, creating an unforgettable safari experience. This is truly a beautiful place. Wonderful scenery, friendly and attentive staff and overall a very helpful and relaxed atmosphere. I would give it overall 4,5 out of 5 and for sure 5 out of 5 for the guide (Sanesh) we had…he was the best and most engaging tourist guide I have ever had. The only thing to perhaps point out is that it has not a three star restaurant. Meals were ok, fast and well organised but you should primarily come for the wild life experience and the relaxed and luxurious atmosphere, not the food it self.
