Fairfield House

One of the loveliest places I’ve ever stayed! The house is absolutely beautiful and the hosts are wonderful. Our room was cosy and had everything we could have needed. Breakfast was superb - the best cinnamon toast I’ve ever had by a mile! Hope to be back soon.

WOW. We arrived late at 7pm due to car trouble, it was dark and drizzling but Mandy the owner was waiting for us with a warm welcome, and dairy intolerance substitute for tea. From the entrance filled with a huge array of pink and red geraniums, up the majestic wide wooden staircase with charming modern art into a truly delightful room, in restful shades of cream and grey I couldn't have been more happier. Advise of close places to eat was given and we nipped out again for a quick pub dinner. The mattress was like a cloud and I had a wonderful, quiet nights sleep. Breakfast was wonderful as well - 5star all the way - I just wish I lived closer so I could visit again.

Perfection describes this B & B but not a clinical, formal or unwelcoming perfection, but perfection which comes from attention to detail, caring about guests and making them feel relaxed and welcome. We have stayed in many hotels and B & Bs over the years but Fairfield House is in a class of its own. Faultless !! We have now stayed here on a number of occasions and are always sorry to be leaving. The bedrooms have everything guests need - comfortable bed, fluffy towels, toiletries, hospitality tray with teas, coffees and fresh milk, if required, is available in the fridge in the entrance hall. There is a wide choice for breakfast which is relaxed and an excellent start to your day. On your return there is a beautiful garden with plenty of seating where you can sit and enjoy a coffee and some fabulous home baking. Perfection definitely sums up Fairfield House.

I'll say at the outset that I don't think either of us has ever stayed in such wonderful accommodation: a beautiful but cosy house, comfortable and with every facet just right - it was a real delight. The owners are warm, friendly, hospitable and helpful, putting us at our ease as soon as we arrived. The house is just lovely, with a large garden full of wildlife; our bedroom was spacious, perfectly clean and beautifully furnished with a big, comfortable bed, and a large en-suite bathroom with bathrobes, nice soap, shower gel, etc. Everywhere there was evidence of a consistent eye to detail in furnishings and facilities - not least the home-made cake that appeared in mid-afternoon! Which brings me to the breakfast - a choice from a menu of half-a-dozen items including luscious French toast, muffins or bagels with scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, and what was probably the best full English breakfast I've ever had in all my 75 years. It's impossible for us to fault Fairfield House in any way - we had a joyful, restful three nights, and we left feeling pampered and revived.

We had a most enjoyable 3 night stay in the Sanderson room with sleigh bed and excellent en suite. Mandy has huge experience of running a top notch guesthouse and knows exactly what her guests expect, but than adds all the details to go above and beyond, such as cakes in reception every evening and fresh milk in the reception fridge. Fairfield is a beautiful Victorian villa 5 minutes walk from the village pubs and the magnificent Warkworth Castle. The zen garden complete with ducklings is superbly designed and maintained. I imagine this is not achieved without a great deal of hard and time consuming work, so if you stay please appreciate just how much effort Mandy and Kevin are putting in. Just like Mother Duck in the garden-all is serene, but paddling hard beneath the surface! Thanks Mandy for your warmth and endeavour which was much appreciated by us both.

Just back from a two night stay at the stunning Fairfield House (not long enough!) A very warm and friendly welcome from Mandy who along with Kevin catered for your every need !! A fridge is provided in the hall with fresh milk for you to take along with homemade yummy cakes each day. A lounge and patio area for you to sit and admire the beautiful garden. Our room The Peony was beautifully furnished with quality linen and big white fluffy towels/robes and the large bathroom with underfloor heating . A good variety of options for breakfast and my husband and I enjoyed the hearty cooked breakfast and also the french cinnamon toast ...a work of art in itself !!! We had the best stay and are planning when to return again. Thank you Mandy and Kevin.
