"Abbiamo soggiornato qui due volte. La prima volta (2025) eravamo nel blocco che è separato dal principale edificio - questo era ok e il servizio era molto meglio. L’ultima volta che ci siamo fermati, eravamo nel palazzo principale, la sua grotta, il telaio che conduceva alle camere era dipinto e la stanza stessa, pur sembrando pulita, non si sentiva pulita, il posto poteva fare con un nuovo e fresco telaio. Non riuscivamo a trovare cibo all'arrivo, mentre si fermavano a servire alle 9:00... siamo arrivati un paio di minuti prima delle 9:00 dopo un'ora di guida, siamo stati delusi e abbiamo visto un paio di mangiare nella zona del bar, le cui cibi sono uscite molto dopo l'arrivo... Possiamo davvero ordinare e servire.Abbiamo finito di ordinare un pranzo Uber."

Ferryman`s Cottage at the Beetle & Wedge ★★★

"We highly recommended the Beetle & Wedge accommodation to our good friends visiting from abroad for 2 nights this past week. Unfortunately, we were extremely disappointed by the poor welcome, service and general attendance they received. Having booked many months in advance, we expected they would be given the best possible suite. However, they were put into a cold, stuffy, dark converted garage in the road behind, with no outlook from the small window. When we questioned it, we were told other rooms were available and they agreed to move them. We did not welcome the inconvenience and we remain curious as to why they were not put there in the first place. As the room was much better, we were happy to give them the benefit of the doubt at that stage. Unfortunately, after a day out the following day, they returned to their room which had not been cleaned or serviced, with morning coffee cups, bed, and the bathroom untouched. Furthermore, at 8.30 am on the last morning of their stay, they went to reception to sign out, say goodbye and hand in the keys. They found the doors locked and there was no one in sight! Having spoken so highly about the Bettle & Wedge to our friends who had travelled all this way expecting to stay in special accommodation, we felt embarrassed and let down by the neglect they received and the appalling lack of customer service. We certainly will not recommend the Beetle & Wedge again and, sadly, neither will we be eating there!"
