We had an amazing stay at the Mad River Inn. The room was comfortable, the sitting area with a fire perfect, and the game room in the basement was a nice addition. It is a perfect place for families and friends who want to have a place to gather. The breakfast, afternoon cookies, and all the other amenities put this place on the top of the Inns we have visited in the Northeast. In addition to all that the innkeepers were engaging and fun to spend time with. We will return!

Our hostess, Suzanna, made our 4 day stay at Mad River Inn so enjoyable. Our room was spacious; king bed with lots of comfy blankets. Slippers & robes provided! Breakfast each morning was from 8-10 am & offered a selection of a sweet or savory dish. Tea & coffee was always available… and Suzanna’s homemade cookies each day were delicious!

We had a wonderful stay at the Mad River Inn during the Christmas holiday period. The Inn is a lovely, Vermont farmhouse and the hosts, Susannah and Brandon, were welcoming and attentive to every detail. The breakfasts were homemade and gourmet - and gluten-free for our daughter. The homemade cookies and macaroons (also available gluten-free!) every afternoon were a special treat. We enjoyed meeting the other guests and look forward to returning!

We had a nice two-night stay at the Mad River Inn in May. It is kept clean, owners are friendly, and there was a great homemade breakfast in the morning, which we chose to eat on the outdoor porch facing the farm next-door. My only issue was the somewhat inaccurate description of the Warren/Waitsfield 2 bedroom “suite”. A suite indicates one shared room for all guests that our family of three could stay in. But, the bathroom is located in the Waitsfield room, and the Warren room is a separate room that you have to pass through the top of a staircase to get to. Our grown kid had to get dressed to go to the bathroom or shower, since the passage between the rooms was a small but public space. Perhaps the top or bottom of this back staircase should be closed off so it feels more private. Was under the impression we would all be in one room. Ideally this “suite” should just be the Waitsfield and Champlain rooms since there is a connecting door between the two of them and you wouldn’t need to leave your room to use the bathroom.

This Inn is a must visit. The bedrooms are very well appointed and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and started with a bowl of fresh fruit. The every day homemade cookies were a bonus treat. The hosts could not be more accommodating and attentive. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely stay here.

Stayed here this past weekend for three nights, the room was spotless and quiet. I never heard ANY noise from outside the room! The bed was extremely comfortable and the breakfasts were excellent and all the guests are seated at one table which makes an interesting & convivial meal! There are no restaurants or anything else within walking distance but the inn is 2 minutes (if that) from Waitsfield and all of the restaurants & amenities there. I will stay here again when I return to the Mad River!

I just returned from a 3 night getaway with my husband to Waitsfield VT. We stayed at the Mad River Inn and had a wonderful stay. Susannah and Brandon were just the best. They made us feel very welcome and at home. Our room was just the right size with a comfortable bed and pillows. Breakfast each morning was ample and delicious. Bonuses included fresh baked cookies each day along with complimentary beverages and snacks. There is a pool table, fire pit, and hot tub available for guests to use all in a relaxing environment. What more is there to say? I highly recommend you find out for yourself. You won’t be sorry.

We stopped in for a respite during our through hike of ghettos Long Trail. It was a marvelous stay! If you are within 100 miles of Waitsfield, VT you should stay at the Mad River Inn. Brandon and Susannah attended to every detail. Very memorable experience! Beautiful location, hot tub, around the clock homemade cookies, coffee and tea bar with dozens of kinds of tea, pool table, and complementary snacks. I highly recommend it!

The Inn is beautiful to look at ,inside & out.Lovely landscaping and surroundings .Great mattresses ,linens & pillows. The hosts will take good care of you with recommendations for restaurants & points of interest.A couple of the homemade cookies were killer good.People that like full breakfasts (unlike me) won't be disappointed.
