Waipara River Estate

Had a fantastic stay in the Riesling room with the adjourning room for our two boys. Each room was lovely with beautiful big beds & lots of space. It was super cozy & comfortable. There was an awesome pool that the kids & us used late each afternoon to cool down. The grounds were lovely. Such a good spot & would highly recommend, lots of great wineries & restaurants close by. Thanks so much for having us!

Stayed here last Thursday and Friday (despite the allotted name it is signposted as Annie’s Loft). Good accommodation but it seems only the rooms are receiving regular maintenance and care. There were cobwebs on outdoor seating, the hedges by some paths have not been clipped in a while, the pool cover was on and would need to be wound back by customers to use the pool (In the middle of summer?), there was no waste bin by the pool bbq area and the bikes proffered for our use were in need of maintenance (I had to walk one of them four km home when the derailer gave out). These are all minor points individually but the cumulative impression is of previously great property which has temporarily slid into ordinariness for want of proper professional attention beyond the internal state of the rooms. On a different note wine tourists should appreciate this great wine region does not have local cabs or e-bike hire - that’s best arranged via Christchurch businesses presently.
