Hotel Zum Ochsen

The hotel is situated in a small village along the main road. Free parking is available in front of the hotel. Very friendly welcome and nice staff. The room was clean and spacious although a bit out of date. That counts for the hotel itself, everything looks a bot outdated, but then again this is largely compensated by the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. Good restaurant too, typical German food. You will not leave the table hungry.

It's a surprising great place right in the middle of Black Forest. I cannot help to notice the accolades hung on the wall of the reception and I immediately knew I am in the right place. I arrived at 3pm in the afternoon and there was a blip as the room was not ready immediately and was told to wait. The service recovery was excellent, we were quickly ushered to the restaurant for a refreshment. We spent loads of time in the room as it was spacious and clean, air-condition was great and the TV is Sony! We didn't take note of the time and sooner that we thought, it was dinner time and we booked a half-board for the first night. We headed to the restaurant and the place was beautifully decorated in a nice cosy, homely setting. We took loads of pictures of the beautiful place. We had a 4 course dinner starting with grilled goat cheese with salad, followed by a celery and pear soup. The mains were mackerel and beef cheek. The mackerel was oozing juice out, never had such a fresh mackerel. Beef cheek was great too with mashed potatoes by the side. After our dinner, we did some research and realised that the restaurant is very popular and indeed a top-rated place. Definitely a must try when one is in the area.

Stayed here as we couldn't find other hotels in Triberg. Room at this hotel was small but there is a nice patio outside the room with table and deck chairs which opens up to a lovely open green space behind the hotel, there are bath robes, extra towels for the spa, kettle but not cups or coffee/tea, bathroom was nice with a heated towel rack but only a 2-in-1 body/hair shampoo was provided. The heating in the room cannot be controlled. Telephone in room did not work either. We were glad that we stayed only 1 night here. Breakfast was included which was ok. Had dinner at the restaurant, the food was nice but expensive. Staff was not very friendly on the whole. No help was extended by a particular staff who just stood there and watched us struggled to carry our bags up the flight of stairs. No one asked if we had a good stay at checkout. We were glad that we stayed only one night.

Wir haben unsere Zeit bei Ihnen sehr genossen. Die rundherum gemütliche Atmosphäre in Ihrem Haus und die Freundlichkeit! Der Garten ist auch wunderschön. Wir möchten gerne wieder kommen. Als Teetrinker war ich bei Ihnen mit dem Angebot der vielen vielen Teesorten sehr glücklich. Das Frühstücksbuffet und die Küche sind sehr gut!!!

Die gesamte Erfahrung mit dem Hotel Zum Ochsen war von der Reservierung bis zur Abreise sehr erfreulich, so wie man sich das als Gast nur wünschen kann. Der Empfang war sehr freundlich, die Zimmer (wir hatten ein modernes Zimmer) gut ausgestattet, mit einem schicken Bad und toller Dusche. Das Frühstück war ausgezeichnet mit einer tollen Auswahl, die im deutschen Hotelbetrieb ihres Gleichen sucht. Der Eigentümer ist selbst aktiv und kümmert sich sehr aufmerksam um seine Gäste. Das gesamte Personal ist sehr freundlich und auf den Gast fokussiert. Wir können einen Aufenthalt uneingeschränkt empfehlen. Das Hotel verfügt auch über ein Hallenbad und einen Wellnessbereich, den wir leider nicht genutzt haben, da wir nur eine Nacht vor Ort waren. Wir haben im traditionell eingerichteten Restaurant mit unseren Freunden zu Abend gegessen. Hierzu schreibe ich eine separate Bewertung, aber soviel vorab, es war großartig.

Een mooi hotel met alleen maar vriendelijke mensen. Bij binnenkomst werden wij vriendelijk ontvangen en na het inchecken naar onze kamer gebracht. Wij hadden een middelgrote kamer. De kamer was prima, super schoon en voorzien van alle gemakken. Prima badkamer, koelkastje, kluisje en balkon/terras met zitje en ligstoelen. Wij kregen in het restaurant een vaste tafel voor het ontbijt en diner, en aangezien het mooi weer was hadden wij gevraagd of we ook buiten komen ontbijten/dineren. Dit was geen probleem er werd direct door de medewerkers geregeld. Hierna werd deze tafel die wij buiten hadden gekozen voortaan voor ons gedekt zodat we konden kiezen, binnen of buiten eten. Het ontbijtbuffet is geweldig te noemen. Er zijn diverse broodsoorten, broodjes, muesli soorten, yoghurt soorten, fruit, beleg, diverse jam soorten, (roer)ei en diverse koffie specialiteiten en heel veel thee smaken. Als je ergens niet uitkomt of kan vinden staan de medewerkers snel naast je om te helpen. Wij maakten gebruik van een arrangement 7 dagen inclusief diner en massage, waardoor wij elke dag een uit 3 dingen konden kiezen voor het diner, een vlees- of visgerecht of vegetarisch. Het eten was prima. Het betreft hier niet de standaard wiener- of jäger schnitzel, maar wat chiquer. In ieder geval met zorg gemaakt en smaakvol. Het hotel heeft ook een wellness gebeuren waarvan wij verder geen gebruik hebben gemaakt, van het zwembad overigens wel. Het zwembad is niet heel groot, maar goed genoeg om even te genieten. Het gehele hotel en buitenruimte worden goed onderhouden en verzorgd. Kortom een super fijn verblijf gehad!
