Hotel a Vila Verde, Portogallo

We spent three nights at Torre de Gomariz for some rest and relaxation after hiking a portion of the Camino Portuguese, and it was a great choice. Room was very spacious with a nice patio and huge bathroom. Enjoyed a view of the pool and the vineyards in the distance. Bed was very comfortable and it was nice having A/C for our stay. Only complaint about the room was a weird door at the back of the walk in closet that wasn't soundproofed, so often you could hear your neighbors or people walking by. Didn't want to take the car out so we ate all our meals at the property. Breakfast was excellent with both a cold buffet and choice of hot entrees - really enjoyed the pancakes with Nutella. Dinner was on the second floor of the Tower, with a good mix of Portuguese and other offerings. Servings were pretty huge, so we left full every night. It did get loud one evening as there was a tour group taking up most of the restaurant, but fortunately they went to bed earlier than us so it calmed down by dessert. Also did a wine tasting one afternoon, fun to try the various wines and really enjoyed the slight carbonization they use in the white wines. Very surprised when they gifted us with three bottles upon check-out from the hotel, and they came in handy as we were not a huge fan of the wines in Douro or Braga. The spa and pool area are a great offering, especially on rainy days when the outdoor pool isn't possible. We used the steam room and sauna every day of our stay, highly recommend reserving a visit. I also got an excellent massage on the last day of our stay as I was still a bit sore from hiking. Only other issue with our stay was an ill-timed fire alarm at 1:30 in the morning, which took a little time to shut off as most of the staff was still working a wedding. Didn't have a problem falling back to sleep, and the staff nicely gave up 15% off our spending for the inconvenience. Wasn't expecting that, and it was much appreciated. Would definitely stay here again if we find ourselves in Portugal again.

Questo è situato accanto alla stazione ferroviaria principale, un 5-10m cammina nel vecchio quartiere. Con parcheggio sotto - condiviso con la stazione - a soli €5 al giorno. (12.00-13.00). È fondamentale, ma ha tutto quello che serve come un posto per mettere la testa giù, o per mangiare e bere anche all'hotel. Non abbiamo mangiato lì, quindi non posso commentare la qualità del cibo. Il personale era piacevole, utile ed efficiente. C'è una macchina da bere e da bere, un bar e un ristorante. Puoi guidare fino al fronte, controllare - prima di spostare la tua auto - con la carta che ti danno - nel parco auto sottoterra.

Hotel bem localizado mas oferece poucas comodidades. O SPA é pago, o que estando um tempo mau no exterior dava jeito ser gratuito, pois não existe mais nada que se possa fazer (mesa bilhar sempre ocupada - logicamente), nem uma sala de estar condigna.

Hotel eccezionale! Tutto al massimo: pulizia della stanza, gentilezza del personale, colazione ricca con prodotti freschi e ben assortiti. Attenzione massimo ai prodotti senza glutine e senza lattosio. Ambienti ben riscaldati nonostante gli spazi immensi; stanze con domotica e bagno grande super con doccia e vasca. Non si può desiderare di meglio! Complimenti al Melia! Sicuramente ci torneremo! All'esterno possibilità di parcheggio gratuito. L'unico piccolo neo è la distanza dal centro peraltro non eccessiva. Bravi i ragazzi dello staff!

L'hotel si trova nel complesso del Bom Jesus Do Monte, che guarda alla città di Braga dall'alto di una collina. Il complesso è costituito da diverse strutture tra cui un paio di hotel, una chiesa e un ristorante panoramico. Ho soggiornato qui per due notti, con la mezza pensione svolta però nel ristorante panoramico annesso. L'hotel infatti non dispone di ristorante ma di una sala colazione anche abbastanza angusta e con poca scelta. Le stanze sono molto belle, ampie, con il bagno a vista e wc e doccia separati. Letto comodo ma lenzuola secondo me non adatte alle misure del materasso, che regolarmente uscivano fuori durante il sonno e rendevano il tutto molto scomodo. Personale non particolarmente gentile, ho chiesto in prestito un ferro da stiro e mi è stato risposto bruscamente ”no”, senza darmi spiegazioni. Un quattro stelle non può non avere determinati servizi per i clienti. Peccato.

Abbiamo soggiornato qui nel corso di un viaggio di golf verso il Portogallo settentrionale, e abbiamo goduto del campo di golf che è molto buono ... se non ci sono strutture di buona pratica. L'hotel non è niente di speciale ... pulito e funzionale - nessun bar, ma si può acquistare alcol in reception per il consumo nella vostra stanza. Il personale della palestra era molto amichevole e utile. Il colazione è ok. Poiché l'hotel non ha un ristorante, abbiamo un pacchetto che ci ha consentito di mangiare nel ristorante del golf club. Il cibo qui è molto mediocre ... un menu con una scelta di due piatti per corso (più per il deserto). La mia pasta di vetro era piuttosto inevitabile in una notte, mi dispiace dire. Il personale del ristorante è molto colpito e perso ... a parte Miguel che ha provato troppo duro e ci ha guardati molto bene.

Abbiamo soggiornato per 3 notti in un questo hotel a metà agosto. In tutta onestà il prezzo ne vale la candela, nel senso, senza nessuna pretesa, ma sufficiente per dormire 3 notti senza aspettarsi le stelle. La struttura è situata in una buona posizione, si raggiunge comodamente il centro della città in 6/7min di passeggiata. Alla reception siamo stati accolti un po' freddamente ma comunque senza nessun intoppo. Se avete un'automobile non avrete problemi a trovare parcheggio nelle vie retrostanti l'hotel che ovviamente non dispone di un parcheggio privato. La vera pecca di questo hotel è il letto duro come un sasso, ma proprio una cosa mai sentita prima.

We picked this location as we were going to a music festival nearby and taking odd days to explore the area…in between we were hoping to chill by the pool. How disappointed were. The plastic tree that greets you in the reception, is a pretty good representation of what you are going to get…Fake, this place is soulless and fake, but what makes it worse, it’s “tired fake”. From the dirty grubby carpets and chairs, black scuff marks on the once clean white walls and the cheap Italian style melamine furniture now chipped exposing its self for what it really is .. cheap coated chipboard. The first night we booked a table for dinner, on our way out we thought we’d have a drink in the bar first. The bar was empty of customers and bar staff so we made our way to the restaurant. The food was so bad it was comical. The tenderloin I ordered was so tough it should have been served with a chainsaw on the side. Breakfast the next morning was the same odd, awkward experience. But one thing we did realise they were actually other people staying at the hotel, not couples as you’d expect in a spa hotel but large families with lots of kids. We made our way out for the day. On our return we thought we we have a few hours buy the pool, .not possible, the pool was full of screaming children. So next option, sit on the balcony with a drink.. the balcony walls had black mold on them and the wooden deck was almost rotten and didn’t feel safe. Anyway below you had more screaming kids playing ball games. The 2nd morning we woke up and noticed that the 2 coffee pods that we had on the first morning hadn’t been replaced, I asked at reception on the way out and was told I need to pay an extra 1€ per pod after the first night.? Also the shower gel and shampoo were not replenished after the 3rd day I had to go to reception again and ask for them. I could go on… basically this place made us miserable, so miserable we changed our flight home at extra cost and checked out 2 days earlier than we were booked in for, losing the money for those last 2 nights. I would not recommend staying here.
