We loved staying at SoulShine Avellanas. The room was comfortable and the small kitchen was well equipped. The kids had a great time at the pool and the restaurant had delicious food. We loved how the room truly felt like a treehouse, monkeys and all! We hope to be back soon!

Went on a super yoga retreat there. Staff were amazing and very accommodating. Food is amazing and now they have tapas for dinner. I would recommend this as a small local resort close to Playa allenenas Rooms are clean and the property is very safe, with the exception of holler monkeys roaming around highbin the trees above.

I started off there solo and ended up with a friend and watched a wedding reception take place. When I tell you that SoulShine is the absolute best place to stay in the entire world I don’t say it lightly. Their customer service is unmatched ( they helped me find taxis because I couldn’t get a rental car like I was supposed to ), the owner knows what’s going on so much that I felt more safe solo than I ever have traveling in my life, the food is phenomenal, it’s a VERY affordable price, and they are so beyond kind. I can’t rave about this place enough.

The owner is absolutely fabulous and super friendly. The staff has been incredibly warm and service minded and the facility itself is very very cozy. You feel secluded in your individual room surrounded by hundreds of amazing looking plants, flowers, and trees that really takes you into the middle of the jungle. There is even yoga and a breakfast menu that exceeds all expectations. And I love a good breakfast. The room itself is very spacious and smells amazing every time we came in. The bathroom and shower area is huge and the products that they use in the in the shower are of the highest quality. You feel so fresh after a day on the beach or out exploring. If we come back to this side of Costa Rica again, we will absolutely be staying here again. Only a few minutes walk to the beach and lots of interesting and spectacular restaurants just minutes away. The pricing was absolutely reasonable. Definitely recommended.

We had an opportunity to stay in Buddha House for 3 nights. It was magnificent! Spacious, clean, beautifully cared for and comfortably furnished. The property itself utilizes landscaping to make the natural setting shine, while maintaining a remarkable amount of privacy. It is impossible to exaggerate about the restaurant. All of the food we ate was absolutely delicious and delightfully presented. We appreciated the chance to meet the owner(s) and the evening chef. Overall, the staff were accessible, friendly, and helpful. From SoulShine, it is an easy walk across the Mangrove Bridge to a gorgeous beach, where one can walk along the beach for quite a ways. SoulShine is scenic and serene; a peaceful place to relax and rejuvenate.

It’s created by love. This place is a nest where you can rest while enjoy yourself with yummy food lovely staff. Nature is talking to you. Accommodation is very clean and tidy. All little details diligently brought together for your resting need. The shop has nice selections of perfect clothes too.

Unbelievable stay at Soulshine in Playa Avellanas! I was there with my sister and some friends — it was my second time, and definitely not the last. The place keeps getting better every time. The team is so warm and welcoming, the food is amazing, and the atmosphere is pure magic. A perfect spot to relax, connect, and enjoy the beauty of Costa Rica. Can't wait to be back!

Our family of 4 stayed at SoulShine for 8 nights. We had a wonderful experience. The area in general is very expensive, however, the nearby restaurants were good. The food at the hotel is delicious. Our room was very clean and the AC worked perfectly. There is no hot water in the shower, however, it was so hot outside, we wouldn’t have used it. I believe the hotel put out new pool chairs while we were there and any upgrades to the pool and pool deck would only add to the experience (pool was perfectly fine to use as is and is surrounded by beautiful lush gardens). The staff were all excellent!! Overall, very happy with our stay.

This hotel had a tropical boho vibe. It’s a beautiful property with little bungalows spread out along a path. It was a perfect size for my family of 4. They had a delicious restaurant with breakfast and dinner. They also have a nice pool. The hotel has a chill vibe. It’s not super crowded and there were families and couples staying there. The road to get there is a dirt road so prepare for a bumpy and dusty ride. They have several restaurants nearby and the beach within walking distance too.
