Ho pagato un po' di più per un aggiornamento, ma in nulla ha compensato questa spesa. La stanza che ci è stata assegnata, anche se apparentemente ragionevole, aveva abbastanza polvere sui tavoli da scrivere, non aveva abbastanza elettricità, cioè, abbiamo dovuto spegnere le candele per poter caricare i telefoni e una delle tovaglie era di notare che, di solito in un hotel di 4 stelle, offrono anche un vestito e un camicie durante il soggiorno e non è stato il caso. Inoltre, siamo stati in una stanza che era in un piano equivalente a un terzo piano e non c'erano ascensori in quella ali dell'hotel. Fuori le questioni con la stanza e l'accesso a esso, abbiamo dovuto prenotare un'ora per godere della piscina interna. Non è stato il nostro sorpreso, quando è arrivato il nostro momento di godere, ci sono stati altri sei persone! (La piscina interna non è grande, quindi il fatto che ci siano 8 persone che godono allo stesso tempo ha fatto che nessuno poteva nuotare o essere completamente a suo agio). A questo si aggiungeva che il mobilio della spiaggia vicino alla piscina esterna era sporco, con tessuti di spugna e non aveva nemmeno un cofano per dare qualche conforto. Infine, e la ceretta al cibo di questa esperienza, abbiamo prenotato alla reception al momento del check-in, per cena al ristorante dell'hotel alle 20.30. Ora, quando siamo arrivati, il dipendente ci ha informato che a causa di un fallimento della comunicazione della ricezione, non avevano saputo della nostra prenotazione e quindi erano disponibili solo 2 piatti e non avevano nemmeno i biglietti. Da positivo, solo il personale che è stato sempre simpatico e disponibile, ma con molto poca autonomia per cercare di migliorare la situazione. Infine, un'esperienza molto a chi si aspetta e un hotel che non merita le 4 stelle.

Mi hanno messo in una stanza diversa dal contratto (ho prenotato una stanza superiore con balcone e sono stato messo in una stanza senza balcone, 20 euro più economico). Ho trovato un atteggiamento sbagliato. L'hotel è buono, un buon pranzo.

Ho soggiornato per una notte in questo hotel durante un tour del Portogallo. L'albergo si trova appena fuori le mura della piccola città di Obidos. La mia camera affacciava proprio sulle mura. L'esterno è particolare, la struttura si organizza in larghezza più che in altezza con diversi padiglioni collegati. La stanza che mi è stata assegnata era molto molto piccola, quasi claustrofobica. C'era un vecchio bollitore in camera e il bagno aveva parte del soffione della doccia pieno di ruggine. La cena di buon livello così come la colazione, poca scelta ma tendenzialmente con cibi buoni. L'elemento davvero interessante è la comodità estrema che permette di raggiungere il centro e il castello in soli due minuti a piedi.

From the condition of the villas to the quality of hospitality offered by staff, this was a huge disappointment. The villas have not been maintained, as evident from many deteriorating aspects throughout. Best example are the bathrooms, where the tiles do not lay flat, and the grout is cracked and very dirty. Ditto for the caulking around the tub. There's a skylight which does not let much light in due tot he accumulation of dirt and debris. The villas were two stories, and our downstairs level, which included the kitchen and living area, was overrun with ants. Not my favorite early morning activity to collect and dispose of hordes of ants. Also, we did not know what was decaying off the patio, which is off the sliding door from the living area, but there was a large community of flies which prevented us from using the patio or even going outside through the sliding doors. I requested that the ”resort” address these issues but, in the 5 days we were there they did not do a thing. Also, there were steep stairs leading down to the entry door, and the railing was very loose and covered with some sticky substance. Again, I asked for this to be addressed so I didn't have to worry about falling the stairs, and it was never taken care of. We had dinner at the ”club” the first night and the food was terrible. Finally, we had made reservations five months in advance for TWO villas, as we were attending a family wedding in Obidos. When we arrived, the staff told us that no, we only had a reservation for ONE villa. They were quite insistent, until we showed them the email confirmation of the reservation. Even then, they were not apologetic. They found a second villa, but it was not convenient to the first, but they said that was all they could do. We also discovered that the wedding planner had come earlier with two welcome boxes, since she knew there were two parties staying a Bom Successo, but the hotel staff told her that only one party was staying there. However, they claimed, to us, that the wedding planner only brought the one welcome box. Did they not think we would talk to her and find out they were just lying? We were promised that the hotel would provide a remediation for us (we suggested a significant discount was in order) due to the abysmal treatment and the deficient accommodations but, despite repeated inquiries, nothing was ever addressed. All in all, the worst hotel experience I have ever had.

È un hotel affascinante. Personale amichevole, ristorante eccellente e assolutamente fuori dal design interno ordinario. Torneremo.

Questo Hotel è posizionato a pochi passi da una porta che permette di attraversare le mura che circondano la cittadina medioevale di Obidos (città delle regine portoghesi). L'intero Hotel è ricavato all'interno di un edificio storico; l'interno è stato ristrutturato in modo da fornire ai clienti tutti i confort degli alberghi moderni. In questa ristrutturazione si è cercato di mantenere, per quanto possibile, lo stile medioevale: sulle pareti spade, cotte metalliche, elmi, corazze, permettono alla mente di fantasticare e tornare indietro nel tempo quando i cavalieri e le dame dominavano la scena. Mia moglie ed io abbiamo soggiornato nella camera 203 dal 23/3/2023 al 26/3/2023. La camera era bella e pulitissima con arredi che riprendono lo stile dell'albergo. La porta sulla falsariga di quella medioevale con chiave metallica in voga a quei tempi. Il bagno, anch'esso pulitissimo, é dotato anche di bidet (difficile da trovare fuori dall'Italia). Tutto il personale, vestito con casacche d'epoca, è gentilissimo, efficientissimo e sempre pronto a fornire informazioni ed aiutare i clienti. La colazione viene servita in una ampia sala con tutte le pareti ornate come negli antichi castelli. Il cibo è molto vario e di ottima qualità. Noi abbiamo apprezzato molto i vari dolci esposti. L'hotel dispone anche di un piccolo parcheggio coperto ricavato all'interno della struttura. Al secondo piano e all'aperto si trova una piscina con un'ampia terrazza dove ci si può rilassare prendendo il sole con una meravigliosa vista di Obidos che si presenta adagiato sulla collina didi fronte con le sue mura merlate. In sintesi noi siamo stati felicissimi del soggiorno in questo Hotel e se dovessimo tornare in questi luoghi sicuramente utilizzeremo ancora questa struttura alberghiera. Mauro Peselli
