A Palace on River ( Rashmi Guest House )

Very bad experience. I booked room from Goibibo and what we saw in pictures about room and what we got, everyone can see in images. And now hotel and not even Goibibo is going to give my money back...I complained and we didnt even check in after looking into the room quality. Very unhygienic and not sanitized...

The location of the hotel is good and very close to the ghats of Varanasi, specifically if you want to spend time during evening Aarti. But the rooms are very small and not clean, the hotel surprisingly has no aqua guard water and the water offered in room is not sealed drinking water but pump water on unsealed bottles, staff are helpful

Absolutely amazing stay for the family. You will have to climb stairs to 2nd and 3rd Floor but it is worth the climb. The view was amazing and the stay was very comfortable. The front desk, service staff and housekeeping all are extremely helpful and made sure our stay was comfortable. Special thanks and call out to Ajay ji the Senior manager who went over and above to help us with local sight seeing and also covering local desi cuisines and lassi! Your smile made our day!! Highly recommended.

I got an oppurtunity after 6 years to be back at this property. I was there for 2 days. Checkin was very smooth and front office manager Mr. Faizan was very helpful in upgrading my room to premium deluxe instead of super deluxe. The room was facing ganges river and so beautiful in the early mornings and during sun set as you can experience the sunrise and the sun set from your room. The room boys were very helpful in carrying my luggage to and fro from Godowalia chowk as rickshaws are not allowed. Only minus point to be noted is that if you have more luggage and elderly people it may be difficult for them but still you may get wheel chairs and coolies to carry your luggage to hotel. Those who want to stay peacefully away from your busy life and to experience ganges and ghats this is very good place. You have Niyati cafe and dolhpin restaurant nearby to get good tasty food... Very close to gate no 1 and 2 also very close to Aarti ghat and Vishalaksi temple. Mr Manish, Faizan, Golu bhai and team of youngsters was very supportive..... Neat and clean hotel rooms, premium deluxe had very good view and the only negativity is the non availability of lift which could hamper the elderly ones ease of access to the room. Well let me start by saying, in a whirlwind of traveling nuances I missed my flight to Jaipur from Mumbai, and decided to redirect to Varanasi within days of New Years. I sat for a couple of hours researching where to stay that was close to the Banaras Ghat (which is where you want to be in Varanasi) Rashmi Guest House location is not only on the steps and the banks of the Ganges, It’s a prime location for anything you and/or your family or business would like to do in Varanasi. It is centrically located on the Ghat nearby the main Ghat’s nightly performance (an Aarti, which you should definitely make time to attend, it’s a very very short walk which you can also see from the roof of the property. I went to it every night I was there and I would keep going every night if I was still there.) Their restaurant even hosts weddings. Nightlife, shopping, food, boat rides and anything else you’re looking to experience in Varanasi is within walking distance which the hotel will plan for and accommodate if you request. Even for temple traveling. The hotel provides porters for arrivals and departures, I was a woman traveling alone and everything that I requested was arranged- at no point did I feel unsafe there nor was I concerned about my things. I’m daft the friendliness of the restaurant and hotel staff was heart warming. I came and went very freely. You can wake up early in the morning and wander late into the evening safely and securely, anything you want to do is within a very short walk and there are always activities to enjoy. With every guest I witnessed a holistically assisted Approach to touring the city to individual needs and desires at no additional charge, a small fee and/or donation based contributions. I’m on a temple tour of India and even that was within their spectrum of assistance. The staff are all courteous, kind, thoughtful and professional. The food from the restaurant across the hall is exceptional with pristine, meticulous, multilingual waitstaff and a wide menu spectrum which is very reasonably priced. Everyone I encountered was kind, courteous and trustworthy. Again, the food at the restaurant is clean and delicious. I highly recommend this place to women, backpackers, men, spiritual seekers, worldly folk, business People and families. From the rooftop at night you can hear the echoing sounds of the city. Early in the morning you can hear prayers offered to the gods. You can sleep in as late as you want or wake up just as early. The beds are cozy and the bathrooms are clean. I am very pleased with my stay at Rashmi Guest House and highly recommend it to everyone. The restaurants kitchen opens at 11 temporarily but there’s another restaurant down the through the old roads called Shree which is also open early. Before visiting this Hotel i came across some of the mixed reviews. But after seeing the room pics, i was determined the hotel would be good by ignoring the negative comments passed by the customer. The Day i visited the hotel and checked the standard room, all my worst nightmares came into life, Rooms are very dirty, bed are not clean, Cigarette buds on the floor. Since I didn't have an option as I paid the full money, I requested the hotel manager to give me a better room...but they gave me a deluxe room which was on the 4th Floor by charging an extra amount. Worst part is that the Hotel doesn't have lift and it was very difficult for my father to go through such an experience who is 74 years old. the Delux room which was allocated to me had mosquitos on top of that room phone was dead. After several follow ups there was no conclusion. They also have restaurants wherein the food is expensive. I tried a cup of tea which cost me somewhere around 80 or 90 RS, so called Masala Tea and it wasn't up to the mark, street tea is far better than this. Otherwise the staff are better and cooperative, Mr.Fazian, Sujoy and others, special thanks to the ground staff Santosh and others very helpful. The above comments are particularly to the owner of this Hotel, who should look into this and think about it. How to improve the service and overall operation.
