Hôtel des Flots Bleus

This hotel is right by the beach at the Calanque of Altheor, but also underneath the historic train viaduct. So there is noise around this hotel but the motorbikes on the road are the most annoying, you don’t really notice the trains. We wanted a room with a kitchenette and that’s why we chose this hotel. Once upon a time it obviously had a restaurant but now it only does breakfast and the rooms seem to have been converted mostly to small studios with facilities. There is adequate shaded parking. The room was very modern and fresh with plenty of storage, good lighting, a modern bathroom and new kitchenette as well as a nice balcony. From our room overlooking the beach we could hear the waves lapping on the shore. The kitchenette is well thought out with a hob, microwave and even a mini dishwasher. A decent supply of crockery and utensils as well as washing up liquid and salt and pepper. There was a Nespresso machine but we were only given 2 capsules for 3 days. We used the kettle. There is a safe in the room which is handy for going to the beach or using the small but very pleasant heated pool. The beach was raked every morning and never got too busy while we were there. Breakfast was included and was a good quality typical French one with cereal, some fruit, lovely bread, yogourts, cheese, eggs and cold meat. It was served on the very attractive terrace. It must have been a lovely restaurant. You are about 2 miles from Agay with restaurants and basic services (and a good launderette) and a bit further from St Raphael for decent supermarkets and services. You can drive up onto the Massif d’Esterel where there are great views and walks, but there isn’t much you can walk to from the hotel. However the train seems to stop regularly at Antheor and the station is about 10 minutes walk so you would not have to be dependent on the car. Overall we enjoyed this hotel and its surroundings.

Top **** Hôtel à Anthéor (Agay - commune de Saint-Raphaël). Certainement l'hôtel avec le meilleur rapport qualité/prix loin à la ronde. Situation fantastique (la route et le train ne nous ont pas dérangés). Accueil professionnel, très bon buffet de petit-déjeuner, belle piscine bien entretenue. Parking gratuit. Chambres dans toutes catégories de prix, avec de bons lits. Femmes de ménage très professionelles et sympathiques. Un petit inconvénient : il n'y a pas de restaurant (mais une brasserie jusqu'à 20h). Ce n'est pas grave, car il y a un restaurant à 150 mètres, au camping. De plus, il y a environ 4-6 bons à très bons restaurants à Agay (5 bonnes minutes en voiture). Nous recommandons les Flots Bleus à Agay pour des séjours jusqu'à fin septembre pratiquement sans restriction (sauf peut-être pour les personnes très sensibles au bruit - mais il y a aussi des chambres plus calmes). Type de voyage: vacances - couples. Chambres 4,0 Service 5,0 Situation 5,0 Points forts de l'hôtel : Belle vue, romantique. Bon rapport qualité/prix. Chambres: Lits confortables. Balcons / terrasses pratiques. Accès à pied: une petite gare SNCF se trouve à environ 10 minutes à pied. A noter: belle piscine. Très proche, il y a une petite mais belle plage de sable.

Petit hôtel à taille humaine, ou l'on se sent bien. Accueilli avec le sourire lors de notre arrivée, nous découvrons notre chambre qui est en fait un studio ou rien ne manque. Coté kitchenette, on trouve machine expresso, bouilloire, plaque chauffante, évier, vaisselle et même un petit lave vaisselle. La chambre est climatisée (et à notre main), des rideaux occultants pour fermer les vasistas et une prise anti-moustiques car il y en a. Nous avons une petite terrasse aménagée (table, chaise et échèle de bambou). Dans la salle d'eau, il y a tout le nécessaire. La piscine est à deux pas, pour la plage, il faut juste traverser la route et l'on se trouve à la calanque d'Anthéor. L’hôtel ne fait plus resto mais celui du camping est très bien (nous avons testé pour le repas du soir). Le petit déjeuner est complet, on y trouve son bonheur et il se prend sur la terrasse face à la mer (j'ai adoré la fontaine à Nutella). Alors, oui, il y a la voie de chemin de fer qui passe au dessus mais franchement, un train met environ 4 secondes à passer - rien de désagréable - et il n'y en a pas des tonnes. C'est un havre de paix et je recommande fortement.
